Magha mela

A large number of devotees congregated at Joranda,the international headquarters of Mahima Dharma in Dhenkanal district of Odisha to participate in the





Magha mela that began on Monday.
The three day annual mela comprises mass prayers and “KHANJANI” bhajan. A large number of devotees also interacted with the saints and seers at the Mahima gadi.
Thousands of devotees thronged Khaliapali in Sonepur to pay their homage to blind poet Bhima Bhoi on this occasion and used to notedown his preaching which were in poetical forms. His philosophical and humanitarian thought was highly reflected in his famous poem “Praninka Arata Dukha Apramita,Dekhu Dekhu Aba Saha,Mo Jibana Pachhe Narke Padithau Jagat Udhara Heu”.

An information centre was opened by the UBSS ,a seva unit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.50 volunteers were engaged for smooth functioning of seva work at Joranda with one ambulance.
