One of the largest temple of Bharat Mata was established in early 1936 in the city Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, where a large relief map of Akhanda Bharat or South Asia lies enshrined.

ABVP to observe 2007 as revolutionary year
Bhubaneswar: As per the resolution passed at the National Convention ended at Hyderabad, the State unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parisahd will observe the 2007 as revolutionary year to mark respect to the 150 years of Sepoy Mutiny, birth centenary of Saheed Bhagat Singh and 60 years of Independence while joining the countrywide celebration conducted by the Parishad this year. Lekhaka Mancha expressed condolence on Nepak’s death
Bhubaneswar: State unit Lekhaka Mancha of the Viswa Sambad Kendra has expressed deepest condolence on the demise of the veteran writer Bhagirathi Nepak. Nepak was died at his IRC Village residence on January 3 here in Bhubaneswar following a heart attack. Nepak was a member of the Lekhaka Mancha and was a preacher of Mahima Dharma. Bhubaneswar: While expressing deep concerns over the insecurity of Hindu religious establishments and religious preachers in the country, Puri Seer Swami Nischalananda Saraswati has said the Puri, which is one among the best religious places in the Kali Yuga will be made as the spiritual capital of the Country. "Orissa along with the Country would be made a secure place for Hindus to live while cases of cow slaughter would also vanish from the map," Gobardhan Pitha Sankaracharya said while speaking at a Hindu congregation on the occasion of Pousa Purnima at Puri Beach in Puri. On this occasion, he was inaugurated the Mahodadhi Arati, which will be held from across the country on different dates. India will be a Superpower by 2011 - Sudarshan
Bhubaneswar (Visakeo): Sarasanghachalak of RSS KS Sudarshan on the eve of the New Year on last Sunday spelt out his vision for India as a superpower. Sudarshan said India could be transformed into a superpower by 2011 solely on the strength of its cultural integration and philosophy, not on the basis of double-digit economic growth. People were turning to spiritualism and Indian philosophy as they had lost faith in everything else. The next five years would be very crucial for every Hindu to contribute towards this goal, Sudarshan said while speaking at a seminar on ˜Super Power India" at the PG Council Hall of the Utkal University in Bhubaneswar in Orissa. The seminar was organised by the Orissa unit of Sri Guruji Janmasatabadi Samaroh on the occasion of the year-long birth centenary celebration of Sri MS Golwalkar, the Second RSS Chief. It is not far when the foreign policy, economic policy and internal security will be influenced by Indian philosophy or Hindutva and there are indications India would be transformed into a superpower by 2011, he said. The RSS Chief said a gulf existed between the words and work of political leaders and the rise in extremism and violence were causes for worry. The implementation of the British form of democracy in the country has contributed to the divisions in the society, he said. Sudarshan objected to the teaching of English to students at the primary level, he said adding it was adversely affecting the mindset of children. Expressing deep concerns over the growth of terrorists activities in the country, RSS Chief said Jehadi terrorism, increasing numbers of church and Communists lead Maoism has set an embarrassing situation for the country's internal and external security adding British style of democracy has divided the country politically while Indian social life has also been severely affected due to this. He however warned about the mysterious nexus of the Christian Missionaries and alleged that some section of the society are now setting conspiracy against the Hindu cause and dividing people on religious matters. Despite conspiracy, religious and spiritual sentiments of the countrymen have been rising over the years and the people would stick to the cause and concerns of the Hindus, Sudarshan hoped.
He further said that time will come and large number of people would follow Hindu way of life and opt for Hindu religious and spiritual practices in the ensuing days. Citing the determination and devotion shown by the devotees of Amarnath and Baishnbi Devi, Sudarshan served an ultimatum to Jehadi activists, who often targeted the devotes and said if there was any fear among the Hindus, large number of people would not have sitting for hours to listen religious and spiritual preaching that shows how the country reaching its destination of Hindu Rashtra and the spirit of nationalism is also on rise, he pointed out. Stressing the need for unity among Hindus, Sudarshan said that they should make efforts to get their voices heard all over the world adding third world countries were becoming powerful and the Hindus should be identified as an indomitable force in the world scenario. He said, Hindu religion believes in uniting people, for which Guruji (MS Golwalkar, Second RSS Chief) had dedicated his entire life. RSS was not a political party but only believed in serving people in right path, he said. Sudarshan said Hindu religion believed in Sanatana dharma under which every individual is given duties towards the society, nation and his family. Dharma sustains society and binds people as one, he added. The western countries want to dominate the world but they do not have the binding factor. The western culture can only give rise to conflicts in this world, the RSS chief said.
Columnist Swapan Dasgupta spoke on foreign and economic policies of the country and urged for an independent foreign policy. Although country's foreign policy improving since Independence but time has come for India to play a greater role in the global scenario, Dasgupta observed. Security expert Brahama Chellaney threw some light on internal security and defence while M Jagdish Kumar hinted about the country's progress and prospect in Science and Technology. Later in the day, Sudarshan addressed a public gathering in the premises of the Rama Devi Women's Autonomous College and latter he attended RSS Sangha Sakha Barsika Utsav at Chandrasekhapur Housing Board Colony here in Bhubaneswar. Sangha Pariwar to step up its Sakha campaign -- Sudarshanji draws map for Orissa
Bhubaneswar: The RSS would soon launch a massive campaign in order to include more people in its Sakha programee conducted across the country. This was come in the wake of the two visit of the Sarasanghachalak KS Sudarshan to the State. After delivering his speech at seminar here, RSS Chief stocked all the pros and cons of Sangha's work here and drawn a road map for Orissa. According to him, if Sakha campaign would reach at each corner of the State, people may dilute from the nexus of conversion to Hindu way of life. RSP demands to include Sanskrit under MIL
Bhubaneswar: State unit of Rashtrabadi Sikhayaka Parishad on Tuesday demanded to include the Sanskrit language under the Mother Language of India (MIL) category. Parishad stated in a memorandum to the Higher Education Minister Samir Dey that language like Oriya, Hindi, Bengali and Telgu, the State Government should include Sanskrit as a subject under MIL from School to University level. Parishad demanded promotion of Sanskrit teachers and regularization of jobs, those working since 1998 and grant in aids to Colleges. Parishad demanded grant in aids for all the 47 existing Sanskrit Colleges of the State. JMM staged demonstration at all the district and sub-division headquarters. Marandi said that JMM has all along supported the cause of the tribals of Kalinga Nagar. Marandi heaped abuses on Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik saying he is only for the industrialists not for the common man He alleged that Naveen is harboring hatred for tribals and that is why after lapse of one year he did not even visited the Kalinga Nagar, forget to sort out the burning issue of displacement of tribals by the industrialists.

Media is not a commodity
Bhubaneswar, 28/11: Media is losing its moral value under the servitude of commerce. News appears a product and the media houses aim at selling the product and profit making, stated the Akhila Bharatiya Karyakarini Sadasya of RSS Sri Ramamadhavaji at a seminar on "secularism and role of media since last 50 years" here today at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in the evening organized by Vishwa Sambad Kendra Orissa.
Being invited as the chief spokesperson in the seminar, Sri Ramamadhavji focusing on the historical background of the media said media was served as a mission for the freedom of nation that Gandhi was executing Harizan and Young India. With the course of time media was converted into a profession. And in the modern era, it was automatically turned into an industry, which aims at getting profit. Referring to the current function and situation of its organization, he viewed that till this date there is no editor in the largest circulated and reputed newspaper in India rather the executive managing editor who tries to manage the editorial section. The purpose is to go through a situation instead of serving the nation with a mission. It is not monolith today. Not only the media is independent but also the media persons are free to interpret the same topic and concept with a little bit spice. Therefore media never acts as the social reformer as the less people is available to have opinion and revolution whose majority is not considerable. In the context of Hinduism on the basis of secularism, he said there is no Hindu terrorist in India – it is a technique for the distortion in the name of secularism.
Under the presidentship of Indulata Dash, the director of Yaga and Prachya Vidya Prastisthan, the chief guest Jagdish Pattanaik who is a writer expressed his surprise at whether India is a nation in making or it is there before the independence. He suggested for the establishment of secularism the only way is to keep respect towards each religion and community and the great souls who have left their personalities to be analyzed and followed.

Rourkela, 22/11 (VISAKEO): The action in the name of religion sounds irrational. One Christian people has misbehaved a married woman entering her house in the absence of her husband for curing the disease in Rourkela on 15th Nov.
Source said that Mrs. Chouhan is suffering from an unknown disease is staying at sector-3 in Rourkela with her husband and two daughters. Mr. Chouhan was familiar to the Pastor Ashish Kumar Muna of Jhirapani Church. In this regard he enticed the couple to cure the disease very soon. Thus in the absence of her husband at the residence, the Pastor had entered to her house in the evening and misbehaved her in the name of religion. He suggested to be converted into Christianity for the sudden recovery from the disease. The two daughters of her saw this and shouted by which the nearest VHP people reached at the spot and handed over the Pastor to the police.

Mutual perception to solve the conflict on temple entrance: VHP
Bhubaneswar, 24/11 (VISAKEO): The controversy on Keradagada Jagannath temple entrance can be solved by mutual understanding only, opines the VHP State general secretary Sri Gouri Prasad Rath. To have darshan of God of the same religion is one's birthright. No force can prohibit him from entrance of the temple to have darshan of his God. Hinduism believes in equality in caste, creed and birth.
As Jagadguru Shankaracharya had preached the value and concept of Hinduism that everyone is equal in the eyes of Supreme soul, it adopts and follows the VHP too. So, no Hindu is down trodden and untouchable. The Hindu people should dwell in one feeling that is fraternity. Where the world famous Jagannath temple never possesses untouchability and casticism, each holy institutions and Hindu temple should follow it. Thus, no priests and temple members should protest and deprive the common people beneath the birth of having the darshan of God. Because God is universal, further he said.
In the context of Hinduism, again he exemplified on Hindu customs and rituals Manabasa Gurubar where the Laxmipuran teaches equality in the society. But today's Hinduism is the victim of the bureaucracy and vested interest of the administrators. For the satisfaction of their selfishness they are trying to create discrimination between the castes in the name of religion. There should be no politics in the pure feelings like religion and darshan of God.

Government neglects to prohibit cow slaughter
Bhubaneswar, 22/11 (VISAKEO): In spite of the agitation and revolution by the RSS and its associated parties, hundreds of cows are still supplied out side State. But the Government is not taking proper action against the brokers. Further the Government is disinterested about prohibition of such action and implementation of a law, stated the All India vice coordinator of Bajarang dal Mr. Subash Chouhan in an interview to VISAKEO.
By the continuous effort of VHP, around 200 cows- inns are in the State under the support of RSS and Bajarang dal. More than 150 cows are supplied to Bangladesh everyday. But the Government never shows any kind of interest to help in the execution process, he said.

Students vow for making of new India
Jajpur, 11/11 (VISAKEO): "India is not a State but a Statesman, we should live for it and die for it". This statement has not been confined into only books and literary pieces. The students of all the colleges and institutions of Jajpur district have vowed to make India a strong and powerful Nation in the door of the world.
At least 539 students of the district have committed a promise for the making of a developed Nation in the field of science & technology, fine arts, literature and economics in which India had been achieved fame once upon a time, at a student seminar on 'Indian and making of a powerful India' at Kharasrota College in Singhpur on behalf of Sri Guruji Janmasatabdi Samaroh Samiti Jajpur district. Joining as a Spokesman, the Bharatiya Majdoor Sangh Zonal Secretary Sri. Krishna Chandra Mishra had criticized today's education system of India in the discussion programme differing the past Gurukul system and modern education system. He suggested few techniques through which the learing fellows can improve their skills and present themselves in the international market.

'Management failure caused Puri temple stampede'
(Visakeo, 10/8/06) Years of inefficient management, unrealistic approach, failure to take on-the-spot decisions at the time of crisis, lack of foresightedness of the officers who are non conversant with the temple rules, non adherence to the scheduled programmes for niti or rituals on Friday and Saturday mornings-- all these had a cumulative effect on the sorrowful incident of stampede which recently took away four innocent lives, sources said.
It is further understood as directed by the chief administrator, office orders were issued on October 30 detailing the time schedule of Sri Mandir rituals on those Panchuka days when lakhs of visitors were expected to come to the temple like previous years.
Still, the most routinely conducted rituals including special Vesha (Ceremonial dressing) days with visitors performing month long havishya with daily rush of lakhs of people from different places without any disturbances, collapsed on the fateful day which is now a commonly admitted fact, "It was due to mismanagement and could have been avoided.
"The temple chief administrator minced matters on the first day saying that the cause of the incident was unscheduled closure of inside doors of Sri Mandir (Pahuda Niti) on Friday night. And after coming back to his office he changed his statement and said that the reason of the chaos was breaking of fire from a deepa near Mangal Mandir.
However calling an urgent meeting of the Managing Committee of Sri Mandir by the Puri Gajapati, Dibya Singh Deo and immediate formation of a 11 member Fact Finding Committee in the matter has created fear among all erring officials including officers of both civil and police administration and employees of Sri Mandir as more and more eye witnesses are coming up each new day to submit written statements regarding the incident and of course, blaming it mostly on administration failure.
It is understood that hundreds of petitions have been filed before the administration and the petitioners are ready to appear on November 10 to give witness. Interestingly, the in-house enquiry as being called Fact finding Committee has included all administrative officers including the chief administrator in the purview of the enquiry, which has been welcomed by the common people.
Further added to this, the Sankaracharya of Puri Nischalanda Saraswati has said this has happened due to failure of administration, which did not try to learn any lesson from a similar incident in 1993 Nagarjun Vesha of Sri Jagannath.
This has disturbed the peace of all erring officers who were not present inside Sri Mandir on the day. The entire responsibility was left on the shoulders of a few lower grade police officials, constables and JTPs including newly recruited JTS forces with no coordination among them.
It is being alleged the Fact Finding Committee members have been pressurised to submit their reports in favour of the administration and the Government is presently sitting over the file to appoint a sitting High Court Judge as one man enquiry commission waiting till the submission of committee's report.
It appears this time people have raised to the occasion and erring officials will not be spared. Dalits put off temple entry plan
Friday November 10 2006, KENDRAPARA(:visakeo) The Dalits of Keraragard village under Rajnagar block have postponed their decision to barge into the 300-year-old Jagannath temple in the village on November 19 after the district administration promised to sort out the issue in a week.
According to Sangram Mallick, a Dalit leader and president of Ambedkar-Lohai Bichar Mancha, the district administration and police on Thursday discussed the matter with the Dalit leaders and upper caste people. It was decided that the Dalits will postpone their plan for at least a week.
Earlier, many Dalits had warned of forcefully entering the Jagannath temple to avenge the humiliation of four Dalit women who were allegedly assaulted by priests and upper caste people in the temple last year after they entered the sanctum sanctorum.
At the meeting, Dalit leader and president of Jagannath temple entry committee Rabindranath Sethi asked the Collector to take action against the upper caste persons who have been preventing Dalits from entering the temple.
"Dalits are only entitled to see the deity through nine holes of the temple. But they have no right to enter the temple," said Anil Kumar Bala, the president of Jagannath Surakhya Committee of Keraragard. Meanwhile, Rabindra Narayan Bhanjdeo, the present King of Rajkanika and Managobinda Jena, the manager of Rajkanika palace on Wednesday met Dibyasingh Dev, the Puri 'Raja' and sought his help to solve the problem. "The Puri King has refused to intervene," Managobinda Jena told this website's newspaper.
