RSS dedicates itself in Car Festival

Bhubaneswar  (VISAKEO - 17/7): As the celebration is on air, how can RSS be exempted from the celebration and service on the day of the great Car Festival of the Great Lord of the Universe in Puri. Where lakhs of devotees are eager to have inspection of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balvadra and the Goddess Suvadra on the chariots, the RSS people have also involved themselves in the service of the common people and devotees during the festival with a concept in their mind that "service to mankind is service to God".

On behalf of the Rastriya Swayam Sevak Sangh, Orissa, the service is being executed and it will continue till Bahuda- the return of the Chariots, stated the RSS Sahapranta Sevapramukh Sri Saroj Kar here today. More than 300 RSS people have been deployed on the duty on the eve of the famous Car Festival, Puri. The activists have supplied thousands of pouch water at 6 places having the banner of Utkal Bippana Sahayata Samiti (UBSS). The Sangh has opened two primary treatment centres, and deployed 45 doctors with 5 Ambulances. More than 108 Sangh people are engaged in each chariot for the security of the sacred chariots. The Sangh has also provided two information center for better communication. For the supervision of these operations done by the activists and volunteers, few designated Sangh people such as Sunilpad Goswami, Gopal Prasad Mohapatra, Ajit Prasad Mohapatra, Jagdish Prasad Katanga, and Simanchal Khatua are present on this celebration to gear up the processing properly, Sri. Kar added. 

Tribute to Adhish Kumar

Bhubaneswar (VISAKEO - 15/7) : Sri Adhish Kumar had deep knowledge in the political situation of the country and through study on media. Out of his own attempt he could establish a strong organization on all India basis for the publicity of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha. The organization is growing fast in the field of Journalism & Mass Communication. Though he was a leader in all India basis his personal life was quite simple. He was a man of amicable personality having sympathy in the situation of all. This was the theme of tributes offered by different speakers in the 11th day of his death.
     In memory of Sri Adhish Kumar today a meeting was arrange here at Buddha Vihar by Odissa Viswa Sambad Kendra wherein the provincial Sanghachalak of RSS Sri Ashok Kumar Das was present as Chief Speaker & Sri Jagadhish Pattanaik was presided over the meeting. Speaking on the occasion the chief speaker narrated how Adhish Kumar in the critical movement of Indian politics was writing books and giving clear views on the situation to the general public. Being the chief of Viswa Sambad Kendra and publicity department of RSS at all India basis he was publishing a monthly bulletin from Lucknow narrating day-to-day affairs of the present situation.
     Principal of local Maharshi College Dr. Bijaya Kumar Swain as a speaker in the meeting narrated the achievements of Sri Adhish Kumar in the field of publicity and mass communication. Renound journalist Sri Sanjaya Jena, Organizing Secretary of Orissa Shikhsya Vikash Samiti Sri Govind Chandra Mohanta, Provincial Secretary of  Vana Vashi Kalyan Asharam Dr. Lakshmikanta Dash, Secreatry Lekhaka Mancha Sri Laxman Panda, Secretary Viswa Sambad Kendra Sri Sumanta Kumar Panda, Member Samir Mohanty, Sri Haribandhu Praharaj, Bhubaneswar representative of weekly Rashtradeep Sri Golakh Chandra Das, Provincial Prachar Pramukh of RSS Sri Simanchal Khatua narrated their individual experiences and offered tributes. Sambalpur SDO behind temple demolition

Bhubaneswar (Visakeo - 14/3): Sambalpur SDO Bilchus Lagra had reportedly asked the local authorities to demolish a Hanuman temple in front of the GM College in Sambalpur. SDO Bilchus Lagra, who is a Christian and intentionally ordered the local Tahsildar Surendra Panda to carry out demolition drive and also asked to demolish the temple, It was note worthy as earlier the district administration was planning demolition drive in other parts of the city but only after SDO Gagra's superiority, the administration demolished the temple. Even the local police officers were not aware about the demolition drive, which had cleared the fact that it was only after Gagra's green signal to demolition the drive. Interestingly, fearing public anger, SDO Gagra even did not dare to remain in office after the tension broke out while his mobile was switched of. Despite several attempts, no contact has been made with him to get his reaction.  The local Tahsildar Panda, who was present at the demolition drive also, was not in favour to demolish the Hanuman temple but SDO as higher authority, Panda had no option. Panda had reportedly told the Hindu activists that he was not part of it. Meanwhile, keeping the public anger arising out of Gagra's anti-Hindu propaganda, district administration and Sambalpur Municipal Corporation have jointly covered up the incident while reconstructing the temple. District Collector Laxmi Narayan Mohapatra assured that he would personally ensure the reconstruction of the temple. However, the activists of Biswa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have jointly given an ultimatum to the district administration to solve the problem.

RSS plans massive agitation against Setu Samudram Canal project

Bhubaneswar (VISAKEO - 8/3) With the RSS is planning to conduct mass agitation rally from March 27(on Ram Navami to April 14(Ambedkar jayanti) here in the State while opposing the Sethu Samudram Shipping Canal Project of Tamilnadu, Puri Seer Jagadguru Sankaracharya Swami Nischalalnda Saraswati has written a letter to the President APJ Abdul Kalam urging to intervene and stop the project work, which will connect from Rameswaram (Tamilnadu) to Sri Lanka, sources said on Thursday. Besides, he has also written to Vice President, Prime Minister, Supreme Court, Planning Commission, Leader of the Opposition and to the Indian Parliament to stop the project keeping the interest of the countrymen Puri Seer has stated in his letter that 30 kilometer long sinking Rameshwar Setubandh that lies to Sri Lanka in the sea ways from Rameshwaram, it is not only the point of faith, culture, trust and ancient artistic excellence but the canal project might shutdown the historical background of the place, Sankaracharya pointed out in his letter to President adding Setubandh was made by Lord Rama in Tretaya Yuga. “All efforts to destroy the Setubandh will be inhuman, ungodly, indecent and unlawful work and the Centre’s destructive plan of Setubandha would hurt the sentiments of the Hindus residing in the country and Sadhus across the country would jointly raised their voice against it,” the letter said. Puri Seer along with Dwarika Peeth and Badrinath Dham Jagadguru Swami Swarupananda Saraswati Swami Bharati Tirtha of Srungeri Peeth, Gopalnanda Ji Maharaj of Bharatamata Mandir (Haridwar) and several other Hindu religious leaders would take up the issue countrywide, sources said here on Thursday. Meanwhile, the agitation would gather further momentum as organizations like Peeth Parishad, Adiya Bahini,, RSS, VHP, Bajarang Dal have extended their support to the Puri Seer’s campaign against the canal project. However, RSS sources said here that the agitation will be carried out at corner of the State to mobilize public opinion against the project.

Mass Education Minister joins special squad - To check malpractice in Matriculation Exam

Bhubaneswar (VISAKEO - 8/3) Call it a surprised visit by the School and Mass Education Minister Bishnu Das to various Schools here in the Capital City to take stock of the Matriculation Examination, or take Minister is more anxious to be part of the special squads, which keeping a close watch on malpractices during the examination. Minister Das, who was on Wednesday seen at various School campuses in his home district in Jagatsinghpur, suddenly rushed to Unit-1 Boy's High School and Unit-2 Girls High School here in the second day of the examination to boost the morale of the examination invigilators and expressed satisfaction on the examination. "We have ensure very smooth examination through out the State and malpractice would not be allow in any and any where in the State," Minister Das said adding till March 16, the last day of the examination, all efforts have been made to ensure peaceful and transparent examination. Asked about students appearing examination in Ganjam district in their School verandah, Minister Das expressed deep concern and said he would talk to the local CI to look into the issue. "It should not happened and it was very unfortunate that some students appearing examination in such a way," he said. Meanwhile, Minister's surprise visit has encouraged the authorities to conduct the examination without any fear and favour. "We have made all precautionary measures to check malpractices during the examination and action will be against immediately, if any official violates the rule and allow such activities in their respective Schools," Minister Das warned. Meanwhile, sources said that Minister Das would move around most part of the State during the examination to monitor the whole process.

International Women’s Day observed

Bhubaneswar(VISAKEO - 8/3): State on Thursday observed the International Women's Day amid host of programmes by involving the women community. Various NGOs conducted mass rally and awareness activities on this occasion while some organized seminars to highlight the violence against the women community. Lutheran World Service, a NGO conducted a workshop here at the OUAT campus while Purabi Women Development Council took out a rally in Salia Sahi area of the city. Followed by, socio-cultural organization, Prerana also took out rally at CRPF square on this occasion. State Handloom Department conducted a women awareness programee here at Jayadev Bhawan while World Vision India hold a seminar on "Violence against women and it protection" here at the Nabakrushna Choudhury Centre for Development. Similarly, women wing of Samajwadi party observed women's day at its State party office here at IRC Village. Besides, State chapter of National Alliance of Women also took out a awareness rally on this occasion and Patita Udhara Samiti also observed the day while conducting a meeting. "It was an attempt to aware the women community about their rights and duties," Patita Udhar Samiti's Abharani Choudhury said.

Swadeshi Manch demands justice for farm sector

Swadeshi Jagaran Manch on Monday staged a massive protest rally against Special Economic Zones (SEZs) for multinational companies, unemployment and poverty in the State and demanded protection of land, water, jungles and mines and justice to agriculture and farmers' community.

The groups activists took out a procession from Rashtra Bhasha Ground here and reached PMG Square, where they held a meeting.

They alleged that even after 60 years of Independence from the alien rule, 41 per cent of the State's population is still living below poverty line (BPL) against the national BPL average of 22 per cent. They accused the State Government for neglecting agriculture and farmers' community while focusing only on industry, though 85 per cent of the State's population depends on agriculture.

The group expressed its deep concern over acquisition of fertile agricultural land on a massive scale just for the benefit of the corporate sector to garb the industrialisation and Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

"There can be no compromise on food and livelihood of farmers," State SJM convener Arnada Shankar Panigrahi said, adding that unemployment and poverty are assuming grave proportions in the State.

Land Acquisition Act 1894 authorises the Government to acquire land only for public good, such as construction of roads, bridges and other infrastructure facilities, he further said.

Bhubaneswar: (visakeo)With much excitement and exuberance of the Mahima Dharma devotes across the country, at the around of 4.10 am early on Wednesday morning, the biggest bell of the world set at the Temple premises of Mahimagadi at Joranda in Dhenkanal rang up laudably as the famous Joranda mela began amid a huge congregation of Mahima dharma devotees. The giant-size auspicious bell, weighing 12 quintals, was made of eight metals, said Jitendra Sahu, who has sculpted it in 45 days. This five-feet high bell has a radius of 14 feet, he added and claimed that when harped, it will be heard at a distance of about 25 km. The bell has cost the temple authorities Rs.10 lakhs. It might be noted here that the much-publicised Bigben bell of England weighs eight quintals, the bell of the Statue of Liberty in US is weighed 9.32 quintals. Earlier, a three-quintal bell was there in the Temple 70 years ago. It has shown cracks about seven years ago following which efforts were made to replace it.

Meanwhile, the tussle between the Bakuldhari and Koupindhari babas at Mahimagadi has been solved after a timely intervention from the Sangha Pariwar. A delegation led by RSS Pranta Prantapracharak Ajit Prasad Mohapatra hold discussion with the two groups and convinced them before being the much-talked giant bell rang up while marking the beginning of the Mela. Sangha Pranta Prachar Pramukha Simanchal Khatua informed from Dhenkanal over phone that the tussle have been since a long time on certain issues. "As Sangha Pariwar did not want any cracks in Hindus and convinced the two groups and amicable settle the dispute," Khuntia said. Hindu Jagaran Samukhya national convener Harihar Nanda inaugurated the bell. Dhenkanal Price Amarjit Singh Deo, Sahapranta Seva Pramukha Saroj Kumar Kar, Gram Vikash Pramukha Laxman Kumar Nayak, Narendra Baba, Mandardhar Baba, Pabitramohan Baba, Bansidhar Baba were present on this occasion.

Attending the opening day, senior BJD leader and Rajya Sabha MP announced some lucrative packages in order to make the Mahimagadi as one of the best religious destination as well as a best tourist destination of the State. "Sulabha Souchalaya, road connectivity to the Mahimagadi, electrification of the whole Temple premises and 24-hour water supply will be made available for Mahimagadi very soon," he said. Mahima dharma is believed to be the youngest religion of the world and it has a large chunk of followers among dalits for its social reformative principles, he stated.

Sahakara Bharati to open cooperative institution in each district

BhubaneswarL visakeo)Sahakara Bharati, a national-level non-governmental organisation working in the cooperative sector, has planned to set up cooperative institutions across the State and in each district. This decision was come in the wake of two-day State convention that ended here. Its plans included strengthening the organisations and holding public awareness rallies about the cooperative sector at different places in the State. "There was an urgent need to strengthen the cooperative movement in India. Cooperative institutions could play a pivotal role in safeguarding the economic interests of the nation at a time when the economy was subjected to various pressures, Sahakara Bharati national vice-president and former State Planning Board Deputy chairman Dr Pramod Sahoo said adding the politicisation of the movement was one of the prime reasons for its failure. Sahakara Bharati had positioned itself as a major force in the sector and was working towards addressing the lacunas affecting its growth. The organisation had established its units in all the States in the country, he said. At least 250 Urban Cooperative Banks have been running from across the country under the aegis of the Sahakara Bharati. Dr Sahoo said that the resolution that was passed in the New Delhi convention will be implemented in the State while on April 22, a Zonal convention will be held here in Bhubaneswar. Workers of the Sahakara Bharati joined the State convention said government control at every stage had stifled its growth and a paucity of honest members, who would respond to the needs of the sector, had also hurt the interest of the movement, they said adding that the failure of the sector to adapt it to latest technological changes had proved to be another setback. The failure of the State Governments in implementing liberalised laws that would assist the sector had proved detrimental to the interests of the cooperative movement, he pointed out. This is the only reason that we hesitate to recite the national anthem Vandemataram and to give the Gomata (Cow) a special designation and to worship her as we worship other deities and lords, he said while speaking of liberty in true sense. He further focused on the contribution of Sri Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar to the Hinduism that how he could able to bring reform in the society by eradicating untouchability and stratum discrimination in the mind set during the long visit around 33 years of journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. With the help of the head of all the social order and castes organized in Varanasi a huge Hindu assembly he attempted his level best to construct a new India void of all the social disorder and to establish equality in the society. Fourth team started from Rental Colony and through Horticulture Square, Swapneswar Temple, Indradhanu Market, Biju Patnaik College square, May Fair Hotel Square reached at Janata Maidan and the fifth team started its journey from Niladri Vihar Sishu Mandir Square and through Saileshri Vihar Square, Damana Square, Housing Board Square, Chandrasekharpur Petrol Pump and Nalco Square reached at Janata Maidan.

The Ghosh Camp had been inaugurated by the RSS all India Ghosh Pramukh Jagdish Prasad on dated 20th of January in the evening. The organization also had made Panchasakha Mahanagar at Janata Maidan here, which is consist of two important Nagars i.e., Santha Kabi Vima Bhoi and Gana Kabi Vaishnavnath respectively. The Ghosh Player who had participated in the ceremony is from different classes and castes to prove the national integration. The All India coordinator of Hindu Jagaran Samukhya Harihara Nanda had inaugurated the exhibition on photos and paper clippings in the function. Sri Guruji Birth Centenary to end on January 23 — Mohan Bhagwat to attend the function

Bhubaneswar: The closing ceremony of the yearlong Birth Centenary of Second Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha Chief MS Golwalkar will be held here at the Janata Miadan on January 23. The celebration had started in April 2006 at Chakapada in Kandhamal is going to end after various programes spreading across the State. RSS Sarkaryavah Mohan Bhagwat would join the closing ceremony.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, RSS State Joint Secretary Gopal Prasad Mohapatra said that for a special attraction in the closing ceremony, State unit of RSS and Sri Guruji Birth Centenary Samiti will oragnise a massive root march of  Gosha Badaka from across the State. It which will start on January 21st and on January 23rd, five-band party team would march through the whole city with their different musical instruments to spread nationalistic spirit and it would culminate in the closing ceremony of Second RSS Chief Sri Guruji MS Golwalkar's Birth Centenary Celebration. 

He said that the first team would start its journey from Sahid Nagar High School Ground and through Rupali Square, Regional College Square, Nicco Park, Kalinga Stadium Square, Jaydev Vihar; it would reach at Janata Maidan. RSS observes Makar Sankranti Utsav

Bhubaneswar (VISAKEO)14/1: Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangha on Sunday observed Makar Sankranti utsav amid a host of programees. Sangha's Chandan Hajuri Sakha organized an utsav here in the premises of the Nehru Park at the Master Canteen Square. Arogya Bharati national president Raghabendra Kulkarni attended the ceremony and claimed that by 2011, a massive change will take place but India's independence and integrity will be maintained. Reiterating RSS Chief KS Sudarshan's vision of India Superpower, Kulakarni said religious spiritualism has been rising among the Hindus and Sadhus and religious preachers will take up the challenge to face the difficulties. All the sakhas in Bhubaneswar including Chandrasekhar Pravat Sakha, Vani Vihar Pravat Sakha, Vir Sabar Kar Sakha, Sri Ram Pravat Sakha, Khandgiri, Chintamaniswar Sakha observed the Makar Sankranti. Utkal Pranta Sangha Chalak Ashok Kumar Das, Sahaprabta Karyabaha Gopal Prasad Mohaptra. Chandan Hajuri Sakha chief instructor Golak Chandra Das and Nilu Bhai were among those present on this occasion. Apart from this, RSS's all District units also observe the Makar Sankranti.

Puri Seer slams PM’s Muslim first policy

Bhubaneswar (VISAKEO): Sankaracharya of Puri Swami Nischalananda Saraswati has criticised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's recent statement that minorities have the first right to the country's resources. "This government will face the consequences," said. Why Muslim first, the PM should justify, Puri Seer asked while warning to stop appeasement policy for vote-bank politics.  

Seer would organise a meeting in Kathmandu to demand that the interests of Hindus in Nepal are safeguarded after the transition from monarchy to democracy; a release from Gobardhan Pitha on Sunday said adding even after India's partition, Hindus have to raise their voices to demand their rights. The Sankaracharya also demanded a 24-hour channel to propagate the Hindu view of life on various issues. "The language of the channel should be Sanskrit and it should propagate the Hindu views on science, health, medicine, nutrition, economic and social issues," the release said.

Jagad Guru has supported the cause of environment and the country's unity and integrity and decided to start 'Samudra aarti' at Gangasagar on Makar Sankranti day every year. It might be noted here that on January 3, he had started evening aarti on Puri's sea beach. He conducted Sunday aarti at the confluence of the Ganga and Sagar.   Similar aartis would be started at Rameswaram and Kanyakumari soon, Gobardhan Pitha sources said.

RSS condemns video clip on Gandhi

Bhubaneswar, 13/01: The Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has condemned the video clip that has been played in the website where Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi is seen in nudity form having involved in all henious and shameful activity. The organisation blames the source behind such abnormal thing and has appealed the government to take a strong action against the insult done by the NRI, said RSS Utkal Pranta Karyabaha Sri. Bipin Bihari Nanda in a press release here today.

Gandhi, the sacred soul has been presented in the website with his uniform holding the ladies, A-K-47 weapon, and the scene of being involved in the crime by murdering someone. ODAMS threatens hunger strike against BSNL on January 17

Bhubaneswar-:10/1(visakeo) Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangha backed Orissa Doorsanchar Asthai Mazdoor Sangh on Wednesday threatened to launch an indefinite strike against the step-motherly attitude of the BSNL authorities towards the casual workers. Sangha in a letter to Chief General Manager Telecom (BSNL), Bhubaneswar stated that despite the approval of BSNL Headquarters in 2003, 455 casual workers still waiting regularization of job and if the authorities would not take proper steps, all the casual workers will launch an indefinite hunger strike from January 17. Sangha president Krushna Chandra Rout said casual workers have been repeatedly downplayed and frustration mounting among them due to the delay in issuing of necessary appointment orders because of faulty recruitment policy adopted by the then management. He alleged that a list of about 800 fresh casual workers submitted by the service union in the Department Council meeting has been preceded by the circle administration whereas the regularization process of the 455 workers is being delayed.  He said that erstwhile NDA Government had cleared the appointments of 274 out of 544 waitlisted workers but not a single worker has been appointed even after 27 months passed. Government Gazette had also notified the appointment of 274 workers but BSNL authorities here not taking up the issue seriously, he said adding casual workers would launch an indefinite hunger strike against BSNL authorities on January 17. Sangha secretary Banamali Routray said that BSNL was violating labour laws by not appointing the casual workers on regular basis even after clearance from Headquarters. Sangha also submitted memorandums to Union Communication Minister, BSNL Chairman, All MPs of Orissa, Regional Labour Commissioner and ADG (Personal) urging their personal intervention, he said.

Ramdev proved what Sudarshan observed

Bhubaneswar ;10/1(VISAKEO): Just few days prior to Ramdev's six-days long Yoga Science Camp being ended at the sprawling Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar in Orissa on January 8, RSS Sarasanghachalak KS Sudrashan while speaking at a seminar observed that spiritualism and religious devotion has been rising among the countrymen and a large number of people are being turned up attend various Hindu religious gathering despite threats from Jihadi terrorists, Ramdev's yoga camp has proved what Sudarshan observed three-days before the camp started. Bhubaneswar was not like Allahabad, Dwaraka and Puri but the roads connecting to the State Capital had seen large crowd during the six-day camp. Politicians, bureaucrats, religious preachers, students, children and women turned up to sit on the land in a chilly morning session.   Although this was the first visit to Orissa of the Yoga legend Swami Ramdev, he is in love with this State as well the people who not only respect him but also follow his principle and instruction as a passion. The wide range of Yoga encampment at city based Janata Maidan has attracted and invited thousands of people to practise Yoga and Pranayam both in the early morning and the evening with the Swami and the medical practitioners for the Ayurved medical service provided by the Swami.According to the Swami, Yoga is a practice and it can be achieve through deliberate practice and continuous process. No one can achieve this on one day.  Ramdev had demonstrated few technique of the Yoga and delivered certain tips for the practice. He said, yoga offers a disease free life and keeps one's health fit, but the too much of exercise brings distress for the health. So one should practise yoga and pranayam according to one's strength of body. There is no need of doing all the yoga at a time rather to keep it to a part of routine for one hour daily in the morning and evening. The continuous and systematic practice of yoga and pranayam brings comfort in the body and mind. He visited KIIT Deemed University and disclosed that yoga is not a mere treatment to get rid of the physical disease rather a philosophy to recognize youself, the inner soul. The body is made up of five essences, and yoga is the generator of the air- one part among the five essences in throughout the body. Further in the yoga camp at Janata Maidan he tried to file up the evidence by taking personal opinion and experiences of the affected people who were present to thank the yoga science as well as the Swami. He summed up how the regular yoga practice is able to give new life dissolving the dangerous disease like cancer, tumor, hepatitis, arthritis, blood pressure and so on. .   He said that by doing yoga the third eye that is the cell world or the world of the light gets opened which is the symbol of contemplation and redemption. This is the only way to reach at that ultimate bliss, he viewed. Swami Ramdev, the national property has planned to set up few treatment center on behalf of his organization and provide free medical service in the poor State like Orissa for the poor people who do not afford his treatment and the centre will teach the yoga to the victim at free of cost. He has vowed not only to make the society disease free but also to establish national integration in India. He inaugurated the Bharat Mata temple and the idol of mother India at Mancheswar. The temple is first of its kind in Orissa built by the Utkal Biparn Sahayata Samiti. Earlier, he visited Jagannath Temple in Puri and meet Puri Seer Swami Nischalananda Saraswati and Gajapati king Dibya Singh Dev.
 

Media people not to go against Hinduism: Swami Laxamanananda Saraswati

Dhenkanal, 10/01: Like the politician, media people are active player in the game of religion. They find religion as their source in the game of Chess, said the Vedanta king Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati at a Hindu seminar in the local mini stadium here on Tuesday. He strongly criticized the current attitude of the politicians and the journalists regarding the concept of Hinduism. In the name of religion, these people are deeply involved in anti Hinduism activity, he asserted.

Day by day the percentage of Hindu people are getting diminished and converted to other religion. The reason behind the issue is the existed superstition, social belief, poverty and the disinterest of the social activists including the media men and the political people. The nation is going through a great dilemma by the wrong drive of these responsible people in the country. If such thing will be continued in a long run, one day the country will be void of Hindu people. Consequently, the position of media in India will be like Pakistan and Bangladesh, swami reacted. Bajarang Dal pranta pramukh Dr. Chinmay Mohapatra and pranta goraksha pramukh Sarat Panigrahi had focused on the contribution of Swami and the Sangh in the building of an ideal Hindu society in the country. On this occasion, a huge rally with devotional song and a game had circled around the town and reached at the Yajna.   

VHP to arrange return to home programme

ROURKELA: The home coming of Hindus is the successful achievement of the VHP in Sundergarh district. The Viswa Hindu Parishad is vigorously pursuing the "home coming" of the tribals in the district. "We are planning to do it more intensively and in a well-coordinated manner," a VHP office-bearer said here. Since the "home coming" programme in Jharsuguda, where 350 persons were reconverted four years ago, there have been more than 15 such programmes by the VHP. A major aspect of the return to home programme is that nobody is complaining about it. The local Congress leaders are in a quandary, as they fear that opposing such mass re-conversion may not go well with the majority community. But the minorities are displeased that nobody is objecting to such practices. In the past four years, more than 2,000 tribals have gone through the process of "home coming". For a district like Sundergarh, which has a sizable population of Christians among the tribals, there is nothing to worry, with the nearer statistics given above. Still, the missionaries are scared, though they fear to speak out openly. "They are actually not Hindus, they pray to the nature. They are not subscribing to the Hindu ideology, which talks about idol worship," said a pastor posted in the district. Those who get re-converted often speak about how they had been converted to Christianity by missionaries, giving boost to the VHP programme. "They are not Christians. They are Hindus in fact. Do not call it conversion as we are just bringing them back to the fold of their ancestors' religion," reasoned a VHP activist. But to bring them back is a long and painstaking process for the organization's volunteers. The organization is bent on bringing more people back to "Hinduism."

Shatabdi celebrates seventh anniversary

Bubaneswar, 05/01(VISAKEO): Orissa's popular news feature fortnight tabloid The Shatabdi has celebrated its seventh birth anniversary here today at Idcol Auditorium in the evening.
