विभिन्न भाषा के साहित्य के मध्य आदान प्रदान, विभिन्न भाषा-भाषी साहित्यिकों के बीच भाव विनिमय के द्वारा भाव के आदान प्रदान से भाषा साहित्य विकसित होने के साथ राष्ट्रीय एकता भावना मजबूत होगी। नई दिल्ली स्थित अखिल भारतीय हिन्दी संस्थान संघ तथा ओड़िशा राष्ट्रभाषा परिषद की तरफ से जिलाधीश सम्मेलन कक्ष में हिन्दी और ओड़िआ राष्ट्रीय साहित्य कार्यशाला अवसर पर विशिष्ट वक्ताओं ने यह बात कही है। कई हिन्दी तथा ओड़िआ सारस्वत साधक योगदान पूर्वक इस कार्यशाला का महत्व बढ़ाए थे। इस कार्यशाला को सांसद तथा राजभाषा संसदीय समिति के अध्यक्ष डा.प्रसन्न कुमार पाटशाणी आनुष्ठानिक रूप से उद्घाटन किए। कार्यशाला के उद्घाटनी अधिवेशन में अखिल भारतीय हिन्दी संस्थान संघ के सचिव डा.चन्द्रदेव केबड़े ने अध्यक्षता किया। डा.पाटशाणी उद्घाटनी अभिभाषण में प्रांतीय भाषा उन्नति के द्वारा राष्ट्रभाषा हिन्दी के अधिक विकास और प्रसार हो सकने की बात कही। उन्होंने कहा कि औप निवेशिक भाषा प्रभाव से हमें मुक्त होना पड़ेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि ओड़िआ भाषा को एक समृद्ध भाषा के रूप में अभिहित करने के साथ अनुवाद के जरिए विभिन्न भाषा भाषी साहित्य के विनिमय के ऊपर गुरूत्वारोप होना चाहिए। आन्ध्र विश्व विद्यालय हिन्दी विभाग के पूर्व प्रो.डा.शेषारत्नम मुख्य अतिथि, केन्द्रीय हिन्दी निदेशालय के अनुसंधान अधिकारी राकेश कुमार शर्मा सम्मानित अतिथि, भुवनेश्वर बीजेबी कालेज के पूर्व अध्यक्ष तथा विशिष्ट साहित्यिक डा.शंकरलाल पुरोहित मुख्य वक्ता के रूप में भाग लिए थे। अन्त में ओड़िशा राष्ट्र भाषा परिषद पुरी शाखा के साधारण संपादक ज्योतिराज नंद शर्मा ने धन्यवाद ज्ञापन किया। उद्घाटनी अधिवेशन में हिन्दी तथा ओड़िआ साहित्य के विशिष्ट प्रतिभाओं को सम्मानित किया गया। डा.हरिहर मिश्र, डा.अजय कुमार पटनायक, विशिष्ट कवि रक्षक नायक, डा.शंकरलाल पुरोहित को सम्मानित किया गया था। इस अवसर पर हिन्दी और ओड़िआ नाटक में राष्ट्रीय एकता, हिन्दी और ओड़िआ कविता में राष्ट्रीय एकता तथा हिन्दी और ओड़िआ कथा साहित्य में राष्ट्रीय एकता शीर्षक आलोचनाचक्र सम्पन्न हुआ था।

सूर्य नमस्कार का संबंध स्वास्थ्य से है किसी धर्म से नहीं- शिवराज

भोपाल। सूर्य नमस्कार का संबंध बच्चों के अच्छे स्वास्थ्य से है। किसी धर्म विशेष के फायदे के लिए हम सूर्य नमस्कार नहीं कर रहे हैं। यह एक योग का आसन है, जिसे करने से हर व्यक्ति स्वस्थ रह सकता है। हमने वैसे भी कार्यक्रम को स्वैच्छिक रखा है तथा किसी पर दबाव नहीं है कि उसे जरूर करे।
यह बात मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने सूर्य नमस्कार कार्यक्रम के बाद कही। वे अरेरा कॉलोनी स्थित नवीन कन्या हायर सेकंडरी (ओल्ड कैंपियन) स्कूल में सूर्य नमस्कार कार्यक्रम के बाद पत्रकारों से बातचीत कर रहे थे। श्री चौहान ने कहा कि सूर्य नमस्कार कार्यक्रम रिकार्ड के लिए भी नहीं किया जा रहा है। हमारा उद्देश्य योग शिक्षा को घर-घर तक पहुंचाना है, उसी कड़ी में इसे स्कूलों में बच्चों को करवाया जा रहा है। एक प्रश्न के जवाब में श्री चौहान ने कहा कि सूर्य नमस्कार के एक दिन सिखाने के लिए करवाया जाता है, इसके बाद बच्चे उसे अपने घर पर लगातार करते हैं। इस मौके पर स्कूल शिक्षा विभाग के प्रमुख सचिव मनोज झालानी, राज्य शिक्षा केंद्र के आयुक्त अशोक वर्णवाल आदि ने भी मुख्यमंत्री के साथ सूर्य नमस्कार किया। आयुक्त लोक शिक्षण अरुण कौचर सहित स्कूल शिक्षा विभाग के अधिकारी-कर्मचारी और आधा दर्जन स्कूलों के विद्यार्थी इस मौके पर मौजूद थे।
दर्द सहते किया सूर्य नमस्कार: इस मौके पर सीएम शिवराज सिंह ने अपने बाएं हाथ में हुए ऑपरेशन और 15 टांके लगे होने के बाद भी सूर्य नमस्कार किया। हालांकि उन्होंने अपने उद्बोधन में भी इस बात की जानकारी दे दी थी।

भैया एवं बहनों को 51 हजार सूर्य नमस्कार

 

फतेहपुर, स्टाफ रिपोर्टर : स्वामी विवेकानंद की जयंती पर भैया एवं बहनों ने 51 हजार सूर्य नमस्कार की आहुति दी। इस दौरान अतिथियों ने बोर्ड परीक्षा में बेहतर अंक पाने वाले छात्र छात्राओं को सम्मानित किया।

विद्यालय के पुनीत सिंह द्वारा भैया एवं बहनों को 51 हजार सूर्य नमस्कार की आहूति दिलाई। प्रबंध समिति के सदस्य डा.सीपी सिंह ने 80 प्रतिशत से अधिक अंक पाने वाले भैया अविजित, विकास मौर्य, मृदुल आदि एवं डा.शिव प्रसाद त्रिपाठी ने 80 प्रतिशत से अधिक अंक पाने वाली बहनों दिव्या, दीपिका आदि को पुरस्कार देकर सम्मानित किया। मुख्य अतिथि ने वेद दर्शन पर बताया कि सनातन धर्म बहुत प्राचीन है, यह ऋषियों एवं मुनियों के कठोर तप के द्वारा बनाया गया है। सूर्य नमस्कार भी उन्हीं ऋषियों के तप का ही एक अंग है। बताया कि स्वामी विवेकानंद ने कहा था कि मुझे सौ युवा मिल जाएं तो संपूर्ण राष्ट्र का निर्माण कर देंगे। आज देश में लगभग 51 करोड़ युवाओं की संख्या है जबकि अन्य देशों में वृद्धों की संख्या अधिक हो रही है। कार्यक्रम के अध्यक्ष श्रीधर वैद्य ने अतिथियों का आभार व्यक्त किया। संचालन सुशील तिवारी ने किया। सरस्वती विद्या मंदिर इंटर कालेज में विद्यालय प्रबंध समिति के अध्यक्ष डा.देवाशीष ने मुख्य अतिथि शैक्षिक प्रकोष्ठ प्रदेश उपाध्यक्ष डा.ओपी सिंह एवं प्रबंधक ज्ञानेंद्र प्रताप सिंह ने कार्यक्रम के अध्यक्ष श्रीधर वैद्य को शाल भेंटकर सम्मानित किया। प्रधानाचार्य नरेंद्र मिश्र ने आए हुए अतिथियों का परिचय कराया।

युवा मतदाता जागरूकता पर जोर

फतेहपुर : नेहरू युवा केंद्र द्वारा स्वामी विवेकानंद का जन्म दिवस मनाया गया। कार्यालय में लेखाकार सुरेंद्र कुमार ने विवेकानंद के चित्र पर माल्यार्पण किया। इस दौरान 19 जनवरी तक चलने वाले कार्यक्रमों में युवा मतदाता जागरूकता पर जोर दिया। मुकेश कुमार, अजीत सिंह, नकुल कुमार, राम विजय, अशोक आदि ने विचार व्यक्त किये।

भोपाल। मध्य प्रदेश में स्वामी विवेकानंद की जयंती के अवसर पर लाखों बच्चों ने सामूहिक रूप से सूर्य नमस्कार किया। राजधानी भोपाल में मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान और जिला मुख्यालयों पर मंत्रियों ने बच्चों के साथ सूर्य नमस्कार किया। भोपाल की अरेरा कॉलोनी क्षेत्र स्थित उच्चतर माध्यमिक विद्यालय परिसर में आयोजित सूर्य नमस्कार में ट्रैक सूट में पहुंचे चौहान ने बच्चों के साथ सभी आसन किया।
मुख्यमंत्री ने इस मौके पर कहा कि सूर्य नमस्कार एक व्यायाम है, जो शरीर को स्वस्थ्य रखता है। उन्होंने कहा है कि स्वस्थ शरीर में स्वस्थ मन का वास होता है, लिहाजा व्यायाम आवश्यक है और इसी लिए राज्य सरकार ने सूर्य नमस्कार का आयोजन किया।

इसी तरह राज्य के अन्य हिस्सों में सामूहिक सूर्य नमस्कार का आयोजन किया गया, जिसमें कई मंत्रियों ने भी हिस्सा लिया। राज्य सरकार ने सूर्य नमस्कार के जरिए विश्व रिकार्ड बनाने की तैयारी की थी।
वहीं दूसरी ओर ईसाई व मुस्लिम संगठनों ने इस आयोजन का विरोध करते हुए इसे शिक्षा के भगवाकरण का प्रयास बताया था। कुछ मुस्लिम धर्म गुरुओं ने तो इस आयोजन के विरोध में फतवा तक जारी कर दिया था।

ओमफेड 1000 लीटर दूध नष्ट किए

भुवनेश्वर,vsk : पूरे देश भर में दूध में मिलावट की खबरें चर्चा में है। ऐसे में ओड़िशा का प्रमुख दुग्ध उत्पादक व वितरक संस्थान ओमफेड ने दूध में भी अप-मिश्रण का पता चला है। ओमफेड के दूध में अप-मिश्रण किए जाने का पता चलते ही विभिन्न स्थानों से नमूना संग्रह आरंभ हो गया है। इस मध्य लगभग 1000 लीटर दूध नष्ट किए जाने की सूचना मिली है। अविभक्त पुरी व कटक जिले से संग्रहित एक हजार लीटर दूध में चीनी व नमक के अपमिश्रण का पुख्ता प्रमाण मिलने पर यह कार्रवाई की गई है। उधर, ओमफेड की तरफ से 4000 दुग्ध सोसाइटियों को नोटिस जारी करते हुए किसी तरह की मिलावट न करने की चेतावनी दी गई है। राजधानी भुवनेश्वर के जनस्वास्थ्य विभाग ने ओमफेड के विभिन्न डेयरी फार्म से दूध का नमूना संग्रह किया है। इस कार्य के लिए 7 स्क्वार्ड लगाए गए हैं। ओमफेड के सीएमडी सत्यव्रत साहू ने सूचना दी है कि जिन डेयरी से अपमिश्रित दूध का पता चला है उनके खिलाफ कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी।

गौरतलब है कि देश में लोगों को दूध के नाम पर अपमिश्रित दूध दिए जाने को लेकर भारतीय खाद्य सुरक्षा व मानक प्राधिकरण ने रिपोर्ट जारी की थी। इसे लेकर नई दिल्ली, मुम्बई महानगरों सहित देश के विभिन्न राज्यों में धड़ल्ले से अपमिश्रित दूध बेचे जाने की पुष्टि हुई। इसे लेकर ओड़िशा में भी लोग सचेत होने लगे हैं। अब ओमफेड के दूध में मिलावट की खबर आने से लोग आशंकित हैं।

भोपालः मध्यप्रदेश सरकार एक ओर जहां कल हजारों स्कूली विद्यार्थियों को एक साथ ‘सूर्य नमस्कार’ कराकर गिनीज बुक में नाम दर्ज कराने की तैयारी में है, वहीं मुस्लिम नेताओं ने सूर्य के सामने झुकने को गैर इस्लामिक एवं ‘बुत’ पूजा बताकर इसका विरोध किया है.
प्रदेश के शीर्ष मौलवियों ने सूर्य नमस्कार के खिलाफ़ कल फ़तवा भी जारी कर दिया है. उनका आरोप है कि मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान की सरकार धीरे और घातक तरीके से प्रदेश में शिक्षा का भगवाकरण कर रही है. उन्होंने सरकार को आगाह किया कि यदि सरकार अपने सामूहिक सूर्य नमस्कार के कार्यक्रम पर आगे बढ़ेगी तो वे इसके खिलाफ़ अदालत में दस्तक देंगे.
दूसरी ओर, स्कूल शिक्षा मंत्री अर्चना चिटनिस ने कहा कि सामूहिक सूर्य नमस्कार में भाग लेना स्वैच्छिक है. उन्होंने कहा कि सूर्य न तो भगवा है और न ही हरा, इसका धर्म या धार्मिक रस्म या प्रथा से कोई लेना-देना नहीं है. सूर्य नमस्कार एक स्वास्थ्यप्रद योग क्रिया है और हम इसे थोप नहीं रहे हैं. यह सभी के लिए बाध्य नहीं है, जो लोग इसमें भाग नहीं लेना चाहते, वे खुशी से इसे छोड़ सकते हैं.
उन्होंने कहा कि सूर्य नमस्कार एक स्वास्थ्यप्रद व्यायाम है, जिसे दुनियाभर के वैज्ञानिकों एवं स्वास्थ्य विशेषज्ञों ने भी माना है. हम चाहते हैं कि बच्चे स्वस्थ जीवनशैली अपनाएं. इस मामले में यही हमारा एकमात्र उद्देश्य है.
मुस्लिम नेताओं का कहना है कि इस्लाम हमें किसी तस्वीर या त्रिआयामी वस्तु के सामने झुकने की इजाजत नहीं देता. विभिन्न संगठनों के मुस्लिम नेताओं ने कल यहां ‘कोआर्डि‍नेशन कमेटी फ़ार इंडियन मुस्लिम यूनिट’ के तत्वावधान में मुस्लिम विद्यार्थियों से अपील की कि वे इस गैर इस्लामिक गतिविधि में हिस्सा नहीं लें.
भोपाल में तीन शहर मुफ्तियों मोहम्मद अबुल कलाम कासमी, रईस अहमद खान कासमी एवं मुफ्ती सैयद बाबर हुसैन नादवी ने एक फ़तवा जारी किया, जिसे शहर काजी सैयद मुस्ताक अली नादवी ने अपनी मंजूरी दे दी है.
जमात-ए-इस्लामी के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष अब्दुल लतीफ़, समन्वय समिति के उपाध्यक्ष अब्दुल वहीद नकवी ओद मुस्लिम नेताओं एवं सोशल डेमोकेट्रिक पार्टी आफ़ इंडिया के अध्यक्ष साजिद सिद्दीकी ने कहा है कि मध्यप्रदेश उच्च न्यायालय ने भी अपने 28 अगस्त 2009 के आदेश में कहा है कि सरकार विद्यार्थियों को सूर्य नमस्कार या प्राणायाम करने के लिए बाध्य नहीं कर सकती तथा किसी संस्थान की मान्यता इसलिए रद्द नहीं कर सकती कि उसके विद्यार्थियों ने इन व्यायामों को करने से इंकार कर दिया.

India demands apology from BBC for insulting Hindu culture

LONDON: India has demanded an apology from the BBC over its presenter Jeremy Clarkson mocking Indian culture during a Christmas special programme while driving around the country, calling it a “breach” of agreement.

Clarkson, one of the highest paid BBC presenters known for his controversial comments, presented the Top Gear programme, which since its broadcast prompted several complaints and allegations of racism.

In its January 6 letter to the programme’s producer, Chris Hale, and copied to Mark Thompson, director-general of BBC, the high commission said the BBC was “clearly in breach of the agreement that you had entered into, completely negating our constructive and proactive facilitation”.

The letter added: “The programme was replete with cheap jibes, tasteless humour and lacked cultural sensitivity. This is not clearly what we expect of the BBC. I write this to convey our deep disappointment over the documentary for its content and the tone of the presentation”.

In the programme, Clarkson allegedly made controversial comments about India’s trains, toilets, clothing, food and history.

The BBC has confirmed receiving 23 complaints about the programme, and added that it would directly respond to the Indian high commission’s letter.

Senior Labour MP Keith Vaz, who called for a BBC apology when the programme was broadcast over Christmas, told The Telegraph last night: “It seems that the reasons given by the BBC in order to obtain their visas to go to India did not disclose the true nature of the content of this programme.”

“One ridiculous programme has done a lot of damage to this good relationship. A swift apology from the BBC and Mr Clarkson may go some way towards restoring our good relations and the reputation of the BBC in India,” Vaz added.

Before leaving for India, Hale had informed the high commission in a letter dated 21 July that the trip was intended to be “light hearted… focusing on the journey and the inevitable idiosyncracies of the cars they will drive, as well as the country and the scenery we see along the way”.

Clarkson was accompanied by two presenters, Richard Hammond and James May.

Hale’s letter added: “There will be spontaneous interaction between the presenters and their environment, and potentially people they meet along the way. This will be in an incidental manner, not interviews. Key ingredients of what we film will be beautiful scenery, busy city scenes, local charm and colour within these locations, areas to illustrate the local car culture that exists in India.”

AMRITSAR:” The UN Human Rights Committee(UNHRC) has asked France to submit a report by March 15 on measures it is planning to take against violation of religious freedom of 76-year-old Ranjit Singh, who was asked to remove his turban for an ID photo” informed Mejinderpal Kaur, legal director of Sikh NGO, United Sikh on Thursday.


Following this observation of UNHRC, the Sikhs had won the turban case against France at UN, Mejinderpal Kaur added.

Quoting the media conference held in Bobigny, near Paris, by the United Sikhs legal team that had filed a communication in December 2008 on beahlf of Ranjit Singh, she said the UNHRC had concluded that France had violated the religous freedom of Ranjit Singh.

The committee observed that France had failed to explain how the turban hindered identification since the wearer’s face would be visible and he would be wearing the turban at all times, she said.

She also conveyed the reaction of Ranjit Singh, who said “I had faith that truth and justice would prevail and I patiently waited for this day. I pray that France will now fulfil its obligation and grant me a residence card bearing my photo without baring my head.”

Mejinderpal Kaur said that they were happy with the Committee’s observations that France was under obligation to provide Ranjit Singh with an effective remedy, including a reconsideration of his application for renewal of residence permit and a review of the relevant legislative framework and its application in practice.

“We now look to France to fulfill its treaty obligations under International law and its moral duty to ensure that the freedom of religion and belief is upheld for everyone who lives within its territory,” she added.

Following the fatwa or decree against the Indian yogic Surya Namaskar in Madhya Pradesh, here is a track down on seemingly strange and nonsensicalfatwas.



Fatwa 1: against Muslims joining BJP

Election scenario 2009, with Varun Gandhi’s controversial speech in the background, a communal event was organized by congress on 15 March, 2009 in Chandigarh, at Jama Masjid Sector 20. In a speech made by Imraan Kidwai, Chairman of All India Congress Committee Minority Cell, it was stated that if he could, a fatwa exhorting Muslims to abstain from joining BJP would be issued.

Fatwa 2: against Taslima Nasreen, on leaving Islam

Habib-ur-Rehman, Shahi Imaam, Punjab issued a fatwa against Taslima Nasreen, calling for her ouster from Islam. According to him, Taslima, a dark spot on humanity, should not be regarded as an Islamic thereafter. On a previous occasion, Taslima is alleged to have made blasphemous comments on Islam on the occasions of Haj and Id-ul-Juha.

Fatwa 3: against fast food and contraceptives in MP

Before the fatwa placed on Surya Namaskar, a fatwa was issued in MP, against fast food and contraceptives. Issued by Darul Ifta, the religious board under the biggest mosque in MP as part of an awakening programme for Mulsims, the fatwa called for a refrain from instant noodles, ketchup and other products that are alleged to contain pig fat. A door-to-door campaign was conducted, exhorting families to feed on fresh fruits and vegetables.

The second fatwa, against contraceptives was signed by additional Mufti Shahar Babar Hussain and Mufti Shahar Raees Ahmed Khan. They also planned to distribute 15,000 copies of ‘Census 2001, Islam and Family Planning’ by Padmashree Musaffar Hussain.

Fatwa 4: against Veena Malik, Pak actress

The All India Muslim Tyohar Committee issued a fatwa against Pakistani actress Veena Malik for “objectionable” photos plastered over internet and for “degrading the sacred institution of ‘Nikah’”. This was following her participation in the live Indian reality show Swayamvar and claim made by Rakhi Sawant that she shared a live in relationship with Ashmit Patel.

“We were getting complaints from concerned community members who said that the activities of this Pakistani female actor was sending a wrong message to our teenagers, especially girls. The complaints said that there were offensive photographs of this woman all over the internet and that she was going to have a ‘swayamvar’ on television.” said Ausaf Shahmiri Khurram, Chairman of the Majlis-e-Shura.

Fatwa 5: against sale of firecrackers

Citing that the manufacture and sale of firecrackers is against Sharia law, a fatwa was issued against the same by Darul Uloom Deoband, the leading Islamic seminary. According to Sharia, cracker bursting mounted upto misuse of money and those who resorted to the same were “brothers of devil.” However, they overlooked the fact that a large section of Muslims in India earned their livelihood from cracker manufacture.

Fatwa 6: against Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s Madhushala

Maulana Abul Irfan Mian Farangi Mahali of Idar-e-Sharia issued fatwa againstMadhushala penned by Harivansh Rai Bachchan. This follows the use of Rubayiat in the poem praising wine, which according to Maulana Abul Irfan hurt ‘Muslim sentiments’. He called for the editing of the ‘objectionable’ passages and subsequent removal of textbooks containing the couplets.

The fatwa remains contradictory as another Muslim body Dar-ul-Uloom Deoband stated that poets used similies and metaphors to convey their thoughts and feelings. They termed the fatwa as unnecessary and uncalled for as no one was forced to recite the poem.

Fatwa 7: against birthday celebrations

Birthday celebrations are a “tradition of western countries”, stated Darul Uloom Deoband and cited that Islam did not permit such observances, which happen to be against the law of Sharia.

“Muslims should not follow the tradition of western culture of celebrating birthdays as it against the Shariat law,” said Maulana Abul Kasim Naumani, Vice-Chancellor of Darul Uloom Deoband and added that even the birth anniversary celebrations of Prophet Mohammed are not celebrated by the seminary.

Fatwa 8: against the profession of modelling by Muslim women

Darul-uloom Deoband issued a fatwa against the profesion of modelling by Mulsim women, terming that Sharia law prohibited exposure of female bodies. The profession of modelling has been termed as ‘un-Islamic’. The fatwa was issued by Mufti Zanul Islam, Mufti Mehmood Hasan, Mufti Habibur Rehman, Mufti Fakhrul Islam, and Mufti Waqar Ali.

Fatwa 9: against women judges

An edict prohibiting women from becoming judges was put up on the website of Darul Uloom, following a question related to the same. The decree however, drew widespread and sharp protest from large quarters.

“Somebody’s qualification should be judged by education and upbringing and not by gender. This is bias. A woman understands the plight of another woman better. These types of diktats only dishonour the work done by several Muslim women in the field of judiciary, ”said Mumtaaz Akhtar, activist for women and advocate.

The fatwa was issued against Aroosa Alam for her proximity with former Chief Minister of Punjab Capt Amarinder Singh. The fatwa issued by Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, Ludhiana also requested the Sikh clergy to question the relationship. The fatwa also stated that Aroosa had violated the Sharia law as she had visited a man, without the accompaniment of a male relative.

“He should tell us whether he has turned a Muslim or she has changed her religion” was what Shahi Imam wanted to know.

Fatwa 11: against adolescent girls riding bicycles

A fatwa that prohibits girls above the age of 13 from riding bicycles has been issued by Islamic seminary Darul Uloom, Deoband. According to Mufti Arshad Faruqui, chairman of the fatwa department of Darul Uloom the edict was to uphold the ideals of Islam.

“When a grown-up girl goes cycling outside her house, it is bound to result in bepardagi [undue exposure]. Even medical science has given us evidence to believe that cycling is not good for adolescent girls, physically. Apart from affecting their feminity, it is harmful for their body structure,” he said.

But clerics and educationists have termed the fatwa as “ridiculous” and “impractical”.

Fatwa 12: against Muslims working in banks

According to Islam, a job that deals with transaction of interests is sin and so a fatwa was issued by Darul-Uloom Deoband against Muslims who held positions in banks. Sharia law states that anything to do with interests is sin, stated Mufti Shakeel from Fatwa department of the clerical body. Islamic religious laws were based on Koran and teachings of Prophet Mohammed.

“According to the tenets of Islam, Muslims must not work in banks because as employees they would have to deal with transactions involving interest and also make interest entries in bank ledgers. That is a violation of Sharia. Interest is strictly banned under sharia law. Anyone having anything to do with interest is clearly committing an illegal act, ” he said.

Fatwa 13: against mosques being rebuilt by Indian army

A fatwa issued by the Grand Mufti Bashiruddin of Kashmir stated that only Muslims could carry out the work of renovating mosques and Islamic shrines. This came following the work undertaken by Indian army in renovation activities. In an exhort, the Grand Mufti asked the Kashmiri Muslims to fight “tooth and nail” against renovation plans.

“Muslims should boycott the shrines or mosques built by the army,” he stated.

Fatwa 14: against Shah Rukh Khan, for alleged comments against Islam

A fatwa issued by Mufti Mohammed Shoeb Raza Qadri and Mufti Muti-ur-Rehman of Darul-uloom-Mazhar-e- Islam against Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan for alleged comments against Islam. “A person making a remark like the one attributed to Shahrukh is a kafir(non-believer) and is struck out of Islam,” stated the decree.

The fatwa further stated that the comments made by Shah Rukh Khan makes him liable to be killed, his nikaah or marriage stands annulled, and being a kafir, he could not be buried in a Muslim graveyard. An apology from Shah Rukh Khan was also sought.

However, Muslim leaders distanced themselves from the fatwa terming it as “unnecessary” as Shah Rukh Khan had made necessary clarifications on the matter

Two-day RSS camp at Bhubaneswar concludes
Bhubaneswar(visakeo)-A two-day camp of Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was concluded here with a rally moving the city. Physical exercises along with yoga to make a healthy life were exhibited in the camp which was held at sri Jayadev college ground on Sunday. About 1111 members participated in the camp.

At Sri Jayadev college,Naharkanta on Saturday and sunday a similar camp was also organised.

Chief speaker of the meeting eastern zonal executive of Hindu jagaran Manch Harihar Nanda encouraged the members to serve the nation. He also advised the participants to perform yoga which makes the body and mind healthy and pure.

Expressing concern over the future plans of China to attack India, which is accumulating arms and building infrastructure on the borderline between the two countries, RSS cautioned the Central Government to be vigilant. The members also flayed the Centre for the Communal Violence Prevention Bill, nationwide corruption and terrorism.

ईसाई धर्म प्रचारक के कब्जे से छुड़ाई गईं नेपाली लड़कियाँ… भारतीय मीडिया मौन

कोयम्बटूर (तमिलनाडु) स्थित माइकल जॉब सेंटर एक ईसाई मिशनरी और अनाथालय है। यह केन्द्र एक स्कूल भी चलाता है, हाल ही में इस केन्द्र पर हुई एक छापामार कार्रवाई में नेपाल के सुदूर पहाड़ी इलाकों से लाई गई 23 बौद्ध लड़कियों को छुड़वाया गया। नेपाल के अन्दरूनी इलाके के गरीब बौद्धों को रुपये और बेटियों की शिक्षा का लालच देकर एक दलाल वीरबहादुर भदेरा ने उन्हें डॉक्टर पीपी जॉब के हवाले कर दिया।



मिशनरी अनाथालय चलाने वाले इस एवेंजेलिस्ट पीपी जॉब ने इन लड़कियों का सौदा 100-100 पौण्ड में उस दलाल से किया था। दलाल ने उन गरीब नेपालियों से कहा था कि उनकी लड़कियाँ काठमाण्डू में हैं, जबकि वे वहाँ से हजारों किमी दूर कोयम्बटूर पहुँच चुकी थीं। ज़ाहिर है कि अनाथालय चलाने वाले इस "सो कॉल्ड" फ़ादर ने यह सौदा काफ़ी फ़ायदे का किया था, क्योंकि इसने अपने अनाथालय का धंधा चमकाने के लिए इन लड़कियों का पंजीकरण "नेपाली ईसाई" कहकर किया, तथा अपने विदेशी ग्राहकों को यह बताया कि ये सभी लड़कियाँ उन नेपाली ईसाईयों की हैं जिन्हें वहाँ के माओवादियों ने मार दिया था। इसलिए इन अनाथ, बेसहारा, बेचारी नेपाली बच्चियों को गोद लें (ज़ाहिर है मोटी रकम देकर)। इस फ़ादर ने इन लड़कियों के नाम बदलकर ईसाई नामधारी कर दिया और फ़िर अपने अनाथालय के नाम से अमेरिका और ब्रिटेन से मोटा चन्दा लिया।

फ़ादर पीपी जॉब ने मिशनरी की वेबसाइट पर इन लड़कियों को बाकायदा नम्बर और उनके झूठे प्रोफ़ाइल दे रखे थे, ताकि मिशनरी के सेवाभावी कार्यों(?) से प्रभावित और द्रवित होकर विदेशों से चन्दा वसूला जा सके। इस संस्था की एक शाखा ब्रिटेन के समरसेट इलाके में "लव इन एक्शन" के नाम से भी स्थापित है। इनमें से इक्का-दुक्का लड़कियों को फ़र्जी ईसाई बनाकर उन्हें वहाँ शिफ़्ट किये जाने की योजना थी, ताकि मिशनरी अनाथालय की विश्वसनीयता बनी रहे, बाकी लड़कियों को भारत में ही "कमाई के विभिन्न तरीकों" के तहत खपाया जाना था। परन्तु ब्रिटेन के एक रिटायर्ड फ़ौजी ले. कर्नल फ़िलिप होम्स को इस पर शक हुआ और उन्होंने अपने भारतीय NGO के कार्यकर्ताओं के जरिये पुलिस के साथ मिलकर यह छापा डलवाया और इस तरह ये 23 लड़कियाँ ईसाई बनने से बच गईं…

कर्नल फ़िलिप यह जानकर चौंके कि इनमें से एक भी लड़की न तो अनाथ है और न ही ईसाई, जबकि चर्च के जरिये चन्दा इसी नाम से भेजा जा रहा था। इनके प्रोफ़ाइल में लिखा है कि "इन लड़कियों के माता-पिता की माओवादियों ने हत्या कर दी है, इन गरीब लड़कियों का कोई नहीं है, हमारे नेपाली मिशनरी ने इन्हें कोयम्बटूर की इस संस्था को सौंपा है…"। छुड़ाए जाने के बाद एक लड़की ने कहा कि, नेपाल में हमें माओवादियों से कोई धमकी नहीं मिली, बल्कि हमारे माता-पिता गरीब हैं इसलिए उन्होंने हमें उस दलाल के हाथों बेच दिया था। वहाँ तो हम बौद्ध धर्म का पालन करते थे, यहाँ ईसाई बना दिया गया… अब हम किस धर्म का पालन करें?"

इस बीच उस दलाल वीरबहादुर भदेरा का कोई अता-पता नहीं है और स्रोतों के मुताबिक वह लड़कियाँ बेचने के इस "पेशे"(?) में काफ़ी सालों से है, उसके खिलाफ़ नेपाल के कई थानों में केस दर्ज हैं। जबकि फ़ादर पीपी जॉब फ़िलहाल अमेरिका में है और उसने इस मामले पर कोई टिप्पणी करने से इंकार कर दिया है।

यहाँ आकर चर्च की गतिविधियों एवं मिशनरी अनाथालय चलाने वालों की मंशा पर शक के साथ-साथ इनकी कार्यप्रणाली तथा केन्द्र-राज्य की सरकारों का इन पर नियंत्रण भी सवालों के घेरे में है। क्योंकि भारत सरकार के बाल विकास मंत्रालय को फ़ादर पीपी जॉब ने जो जानकारी भेजी उसके अनुसार ये लड़कियाँ "हिमालयन ओरफ़ेनेज डेवलपमेंट सेंटर, हुमला" से लाई गईं, जिसके निदेशक हैं श्री वीरबहादुर भदेरा…"। समरसेट (ब्रिटेन) की इसकी सहयोगी संस्था ने 2007 से 2010 के बीच 18,000 पाउण्ड का चन्दा एकत्रित किया।

इस मामले में जहाँ एक ओर ईसाई जनसंख्या बढ़ाने के लिए "किसी भी स्तर तक" जाने वाले एवेंजेलिस्ट बेनकाब हुए हैं, वहीं दूसरी ओर गरीबी की मार झेल रहे उन लोगों की मानसिकता पर भी दया आती है जब उन्होंने इन लड़कियों को स्वीकार करने से ही इंकार कर दिया। फ़िलहाल यह सभी लड़कियाँ भारत सरकार के महिला एवं बाल विकास विभाग के केन्द्र में हैं, लेकिन ऐसी कोई उम्मीद नहीं है कि उस कथित "फ़ादर" अथवा उस अनाथालय पर कोई कठोर कार्रवाई होगी…

हमेशा की तरह सबसे घटिया भूमिका भारत के "सबसे तेज़" मीडिया की रही, जिसने इस घटना का कोई उल्लेख तक नहीं किया, परन्तु यदि यही काम किसी "हिन्दू आश्रम" या किसी "पुजारी" ने किया होता तो NDTV समेत सभी चमचों ने पूरे हिन्दू धर्म को ही कठघरे में खड़ा कर दिया होता…। शायद "सेकुलरिज़्म" इसी को कहते हैं…

भुवनेश्वर: विज्ञान अनुसंधान क्षेत्र में महिलाओं की कम संख्या पर चिंता जताते हुए भारतीय विज्ञान कांग्रेस में इस पर गम्भीर प्रयास किए जाने की मांग उठाई गई है। महिलाओं की भागीदारी बढ़ाने के लिए अमेरिका में भारत के राजदूत निरुपमा राव ने कहा कि महिलाओं की विज्ञान क्षेत्र में भागीदारी बढ़ी अवश्य है, मगर स्थिति को संतोषजनक नहीं कहा जा सकता है। पुरुष तूलना में अनुसंधान कार्य में महिलाएं कम आगे आ रही हैं। उन्होंने महिलाओं को विज्ञान शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में आगे आने की हिदायत दी है। निरूपमा राव ने कहा कि महिलाओं को समान अवसर देते हुए उन्हें विज्ञान शिक्षा के प्रति आकर्षित कराया जाना चाहिए। ऐसा होने पर समाज में सामूहिक विकाश हो पाएगा। उन्होंने कहा कि जब तक महिलाओं को समस्त स्तर में समान सुविधाएं नहीं मिलेगी, तब तक हमारा समाज खुद को आधुनिक सभ्य समाज कहलाने का हकदार नहीं होगा। उन्होंने चिंता जताते हुए कहा कि महिलाएं आज भी विज्ञान और कारीगरी शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में पुरुषों की अपेक्षा काफी पीछे पड़ी हुई हैं।

बालेश्वर जिला अन्तर्गत लंगलेश्वर नामक स्थान पर सचिन्द्र कुमार हाईस्कूल के स्वर्ण जयंती के उद्घाटन अवसर पर भारत रत्न तथा प्रक्षेपास्त्रों के पितामह डा. एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम ने कहा कि बालेश्वर की मिट्टी से मेरा बहुत पुराना नाता है। एक ऐसा नाता जो कि देश की सुरक्षा से जोड़ता है चांदीपुर। डा. कलाम ने करीब 20 हजार से ज्यादा भीड़ को सम्बोधित करते हुए कहा कि यदि आप लोग यहां से लौटकर 5-5 वृक्ष लगाएंगे तो एक लाख से भी ज्यादा वृक्ष इस पर्यावरण को नया जीवन प्रदान करेगा। डा. कलाम ने इन वृक्षों को लगाने तथा उससे मिलने वाली ऊर्जा से विज्ञान संबंधित कई उदाहरण भी पेश किए। कलाम ने छात्रों की राय जानने के लिए उनसे विधिवत आगे चलकर कौन क्या बनना चाहता है, पर अपनी प्रतिक्रिया जारी करते हुए कहा कि हर इंसान को सबसे पहले अच्छा मानव, अपने परिवार, समाज व देश के प्रति हर किसी को समर्पित होना चाहिए। उपस्थित छात्रों व युवकों को नसीहत देते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि पूरे ब्रह्मंाण्ड में आज सबसे पहले यदि किसी पहली चीज की जरूरत है तो वह है पर्यावरण से संबंधित सुरक्षा उपाय। डा.कलाम ने अपने विद्यालय से संबंधित कई अनुभवों को छात्रों के सामने रखा। मौजूद लोगों को शपथ दिलाते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि हम सब के हाथों के बजाय सीने में देश का तिरंगा लहराना चाहिए। देश की एकता और अखण्डता बचाए रखना हर भारतीय नागरिक का पहला कर्तव्य होना चाहिए। इस सभा में बालेश्वर के जिलाधीश अखिल बिहारी ओता सम्मानित अतिथि के तौर पर मौजूद थे तथा सभा का संचालन इंजीनियर रवीन्द्र कुमार जेना ने किया।

अखिल भारतीय ग्राहक पंचायत की ओर से आमबगान गुंडिचा मंदिर परिसर में संगोष्ठी का आयोजन किया गया। इसमें मुख्य अतिथि समाजसेवी अलोक बगडि़या ने कहा कि उपभोक्ताओं को अधिकार तभी मिल सकता है जब वे जागरूक रहें। उन्होंने उपभोक्ताओं से सामान खरीददारी के समय उसे ठीक तरह से परखने, रसीद लेने आदि के प्रति जागरूक रहने का आह्वान किया, ताकि किसी प्रकर की ठगी या त्रुटि आने पर उपभोक्ता फोरम में जाकर अधिकार का दावा किया जा सकता है।

ग्राहक सप्ताह पर आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम में सम्मानित अतिथि पूर्व आपूर्ति अधिकारी केदारनाथ पटेल ने उपभोक्ता सामग्रियों का अधिक इस्तेमाल करने वाली महिलाओं को इसके प्रति जागरूक रहने का आह्वान किया। कार्यक्रम में राउरकेला कालेज के वाइस प्रिंसिपल प्रो. जोगेश्वर साहू, अधिवक्ता प्रमोद कुमार देवता, प्रफुल्ल कुमार मिश्र, पूर्व ओडि़शा प्रशासनिक सेवा अधिकारी शांतनु साहू,अखिल भारतीय ग्राहक पंचायत के प्रांतीय संयुक्त संयोजन सचिव रामचंद्र स्वाई उपस्थित थे। उन्होंने ग्राहक व उपभोक्ताओं की भूमिका एवं जागरूकता पर प्रकाश डाला। कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता समाजसेवी वटकृष्ण पंडा ने किया। इसमें राउरकेला शाखा के संयोजक वद्रीनारायण महापात्र, निखिल प्रधान आदि लोगों ने भी अपने विचार रखे।
