Physio gets Utkalmani Seva Samman
Bhubaneswar(vsk)-RenownedPhysiotherapist Dr . Patitapaban Mohanty was conferred the Utkalmani Seva Samman Award at the annual function of the Utkal Bipanna Sahayata Samiti (UBSS) at Bhanjakala Mandap, Lewis Road, Bhubaneswar on 23rd February 2014.

Mohanty,who is working as associate professor and head of the physiotherapy professor and head of the Physiotherapy department at the National Institute for Rehabilitation,Training and Rescarch in Olatpur ,Cuttack District,was honoured with the award for his relentless service in the health sector by bringing in new equipment and infrastructure and urged of ganisers to conduct health awareness drives frequently in order to make Orissa a Physically-fit state.
The award was instituted in 2013 to honour unique personalities contributing towards the welfare of the society and the downtrodden. Dr Mohanty been selected for this award for his relentless service in the health sector.
UBSS is a voluntary Organization created to serve the destitute and works with many other like-minded organizations from where it gets disciplined work force to carry out rescue, relief and rehabilitation work in a systematic way for the social welfare & upliftment of the downtrodden and underprivileged.
Shri Ashwini Kumar Chaudhury, Chief Operating Officer, NALCO Foundation inaugurated the event as Chief Guest in the presence of Guest Of Honor Shri Jugal Kishor Jethaliya, a renowned social worker and Chief Speaker Dr. Prem Shankar Tripathy, HOD (Hindi), Surendranath Evening College, Kolkata were also present on the occasion.
Shri Ashwini Kumar Chaudhury, Chief Operating Officer, NALCO Foundation inaugurated the event as Chief Guest in the presence of Guest Of Honor Shri Jugal Kishor Jethaliya, a renowned social worker and Chief Speaker Dr. Prem Shankar Tripathy, HOD (Hindi), Surendranath Evening College, Kolkata were also present on the occasion.
Praising the work of UBSS, Shri Chaudhury said that the yeomen service rendered by UBSS for the recent flood and Phailin affected people of Odisha and their past service in super cyclone 1999 in cremating the dead bodies and carcasses and protecting as well as distributing relief materials.
Shri Jaithalia further added the need of more livelihood projects like the one working for the empowerment and livelihood of tribal women groups in Kandhamaal.
Dr Tripathy, advised the UBSS volunteers to spread the message of service across the state of Odisha and create an environment of social belongingness where each capable person should come forward to help the poor and needy.
Shri Mansukhlal Sethia,Secretary read out the annual report of UBSS for the year 2013-14 and sought for public contribution to run different projects across the state. In the presidential address Shri Prakash Betala, urged the volunteers and workers of UBSS to continue work with the social bent of mind and fulfill its aims and objectives.
The function concluded with Vande Maataram and cultural function by inmates of Shri Jagannath Niketan, Pardhiyapali, Sambalpur.
