Narad Jayanti function at Kochi
Kochi, May 30: The present world of media is full of confusion regarding the concepts of nationalism and secularism. Because of this confusion they are misrepresenting nationalism. Modern journalism is under the influence of money and western media network. They can come out of this only if they think that our country had a most effective and public welfare oriented communication system represented by Narada, said R Sanjayan, member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) State Committee and former Prant Prachar Pramukh.
He was delivering speech at the function organized at YMCA Hall here to commemorate Narada Jayanti by Vishwa Samvada Kendra, Kerala recently. Noted journalist P Rajan was the chief guest on the occasion.
Sanjayan said that the ancient combination system in India was based on the principles of Dharma and natural well being. He said that Maharshi Narada always opened true and worthy discussion and made the greedy and tyrants so impatient and restless to invite their logical end at the hands of the divine powers. Narada with his vision of Dharma became a true journalist, he said.
Chief Guest P Rajan, a fearless journalist, said that in ancient India communication system was so elastic yet effective that even the kings could be questioned for their wrongdoings and they had to explain. This openness was the basis of our democracy and media and not the vote bank, he said while inaugurating the Narada Jayanti program.
Rajan said that we should feel proud that our culture was still visible in Muslim-majority Indonesia and Bangladesh and Pakistan. The Semitic religions have failed because they lack humanitarian culture and values; he said adding that even the Communists were rejecting Karl Marx who had quoted 'Hinduisation" in his writings. The modern followers of Marx have misquoted it as "Indianisation", Rajan clearly pointed.
He said that we should openly propagate that this country is "Hindurashtra". Only Hindus can vouchsafe protection of human values, and secular system.
S Jayakrishnan, Revenue Jilla Prachar Pramukh presided over the function and V. Lakshmana, Prachar Samiti Member gave the felicitation speech.
Coordinator of Vishwa Samvada Kendra K. Rajeshchandran gave the welcome address while Sunil Theerabhumi, member of Prachar Samiti proposed vote of thanks.
