Channelisation of energy to build a stronger Nation
BHUBANESWAR: The four-day 61st national conference of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) began at the SOA University premises here on Thursday.

convention, eminent economist Bibek Debroy said, “Development of the
country not only depends on the Government but vastly on the youth
power, which accounts for a major part of the country’s development.” Eminent
economist and member of NITI Ayog Bibek Debroy called upon members of
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) to channelise their energy
towards building of a stronger nation.
Inaugurating
the 61st national conference of ABVP here, Debroy said it is not only
the job of the Government but also the responsibility of every student
and youth of the country in making a stronger nation.
Without
referring to the debate on intolerance, Debroy said he is a proud
Indian. “It is a country we are proud of. For the first time, we have a
leader (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) who has brought optimism and
enthusiasm among people,” he said.
Writer
Amish Tripathi said, “The youth should not run after modernity. Instead
they should focus on their family, culture and country.” Around 2,000
students and teachers from 500 universities across the country have
participated in the national meet.
In his brief
speech, celebrated writer Amish Tripathy said the youths of the country
have vast potential to bring rapid transformation in the society. But
they need to be law abiding. “We are not law-abiding people. Some people
take pride in breaking laws. This is not good for civilised society,”
he said.
Stating that
opportunities have opened up in the country, the author of ‘Shiva
Trilogy’ said now anyone can pursue his dream and make good living out
of it which was not possible a decade back. Tripathy said he left his
banking job to pursue writing because the royalty he gets from his books
are more than what he was earning.
