Bhubaneswar,24/12-In a startling revelation, the State police have reportedly established that suspected arrested Al Qaeda facilitator Abdul Rehman had been visiting a madrasa at Papadahandi in Nabarangpur district.
Here too the madrasa is running illegally.On Wednesday, the Nabarangpur police and district education officials raided the madrasa, where 22 boys, mostly from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, are enrolled. The officials examined the identities of the students. They too asked the mosque-cum-madrasa authorities to reveal the sources of funding.
The madrasa authorities stated that since the school has been opened newly, they are yet to apply for the mandatory official recognition as they are waiting for a building for the purpose.
It was alleged that Rehman during the last Dussera had visited the Papadahandi mosque and delivered an inflammatory and anti-national speech there like he did in Jharkhand.
Confirming that the madrasa was running without Government nod, Nabarangpur SP Jugal Kishore Kumar said that out of the 22 students eight hail from UP. The teachers engaged there too are from UP.
