State level seminar on “DEMOGRAPHIC IMBALANCE" observed

Bhubaneswar,(vsk Odisha) 6/12:-Expressing concern over the 2011 Census that shows a demographic imbalance in the country, noted columnist and political analyst Indian Policy Foundation Director Dr Rakesh Sinha called upon the intellectuals to spread their words on civilisation and traditions.
Highlighting the increasing religious imbalance in north-east regions of the country, including Odisha and Haryana, he said rise in the number of a particular community does not hamper the society or the country. “Rather, dwindling in reverence for ancestors along with rise in population, hatred for people having different opinions, increase in western ideologies stand as an impediment in the development of the country. In this context, the Census-2011 is a wakeup call for the country”, Sinha added.
Addressing a seminar on ‘Demographic Imbalance’, organised by the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS), Bhubaneswar, Sinha lamented that some historians and writers have tried to keep subjects holding significance of the rich culture and pride of the country away from students and readers.
The seminar was chaired by RSS Bhubaneswar president Dr Basant Kumar Pati while BPUT ex-chairman Dr Damodar Acharya was the chief guest.
