RTI Applies to Hindu Temple Alone!

CHENNAI, JULY 2, 2012 : The Commissioner of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department (HR&CE) issued a circular to appoint a public information officer for temples administered by trustees.

Hereditary trustee of Sri Vengeeswarar Alagarperumal and Nagathamman Koil Devasthanam in Vadapalani filed a writ petition questioning the legality of the circular. Dismissing the writ petition, Justice Chandru said that the temple is a public institution and its activities are covered by the provisions of Right to Information (RTI) Act even if it is administered by hereditary trustees.

Hindus feel that the administration of temples need to be governed by a group of eminent Hindus only and not by HR&CE Department. Hindus say is it not an injustice rendered to them?

हिन्दू मंदिर आरटीआई के अंतर्गत : चेन्नई हाय कोर्ट

चेन्नई, 2 जुलाई 2012 : हिन्दू मंदिरों में सूचना अधिकारी की नियुक्ति हो जाय करके हेच आर & सी ई आयुक्त द्वारा पेश की गयी एक परिपत्र के वृद्ध एक मंदिर के न्यासी न्यायलय के द्वार खटखटाया. इस याचिका को ख़ारिज करते हुए चेन्नई उच्चा न्यायालय एक निर्णय सुना दी कि मंदिर एक सार्वजनिक स्थल है और वह आर टी अई के अंतर्गत आ जाती है यद्यपि वह वंशानुगत न्यासी द्वारा संचालित हो. लेकिन हिन्दुओं की मांग है कि मंदिरों से शासन का हात हटाया जाय तथा गण्य मान्य प्रख्यात हिन्दू सज्जन द्वारा मंदिर का प्रशासन हो जाय. इसलिए यह निर्णय अमान्य है.
