AB TRIPATHY GETS PRACHI SAMMAN

During the celebration of History Day here by Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti (BISS) on Sunday, Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage State convenor and ex DGP Amiya Bhusan Tripathy was felicitated with Prachi Pragya Samman for 2013 for his pioneering role in conservation of rare archeological artifacts in the country. The event marked Gajapati Kapilendra Dev’ coronation day.
Tripathy was felicitated with a certificate, citation and shawl. He has taken pioneering efforts to draw the attention of Centre to the importance of providing safety and enhancing beauty of the World famous Konark temple. Three books such as Bharatiya Kalara Biswarupa, Sanskruti Matruka Saraswati and Saraswati Nadi Ra Kahani were released on the occasion and writer of the first book Nirakara Mahalik and translators of the second and third books Binapani Mohanty and Kumar Srichandan respectively were also felicitated. The Utkal University of Culture’s former VC Dr Bimalendu Mohanty attended as the chief guest while BISS State secretary Madam Mohan Mohapatra spoke as the chief speaker.
