New Delhi – Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), with the help of other pro-Hindu organisations with similar ideologies, has decided to stage nation-wide agitation every month against injustice meted out to Hindus. Accordingly, on Sunday, 4th August, agitation was staged for the month of August and 42 such agitations were staged in 42 main cities in different States. In Maharashtra, agitation was staged at 22 places whereas in Karnataka, at 11 places, at 1 place each in New Delhi and Andhra Pradesh, at 3 places in Jharkhand. In Goa also, demonstrations were held at one place whereas in Tamil Nadu, signature drive was undertaken at two places. HJS gave priority to local problems involving attacks on Nation and Dharma while staging such agitations.
In CBSE’s text book, Rani Lakshmibai has been shown as smoking hookah against which protests were made; therefore, the Government has taken a decision to remove that picture; but it was demanded through the agitation that action should be taken against the persons responsible for the same. Protests were also made against an order passed by Court in Russia to demolish ISKCON’s temple in Moscow. This nation-wide agitation received good response as thousands of devout Hindus participated in the agitation.
Andhra Pradesh : At Vishakhapattanam in Andhra Pradesh, demonstrations were held outside District Collector’s office against CBSE. Similar demonstrations will be held at Nizamabad, Adilabad and Karimnagar on 5th August.
Tamil Nadu : Protests were made against killing of BJP’s pro-Hindu leader V. Ramesh and Vellayappan, State Secretary of Hindu Munnani. Demand to arrest anti-Hindu killers immediately was made by undertaking signature drive at two temples in Chennai viz. Sundar Vinayak and Kapileshwar. Local Hindus responded well to these drives. It has been stated in the circular issued by ‘Rashtreeya Hindu Andolan’ that the administration and police should take timely action and do justice to Hindus; else the Government would be held responsible for every attack on pro-Hindu leaders, in future.
Karnataka : Demonstrations were held at Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Udupi, Modbidre, Gadag, Guled, Gudda, Hubli, Shivmogga, Bhadravati and Karwar for demand of taking action against the responsible persons for publishing denigrating picture of Rani Lakshmibai. More than 460 devout Hindus took part in these demonstrations.
Bengal : Demonstrations were held outside Consulate of Bangla Desh in Kolkata to condemn the fanatic elected representatives of Bnagla Desh for trying to kill Shri. Rabindra Ghosh, the Founder of Minority Watch and staunch pro-Hindu activist from Bangla Desh; while demand was made that Bangla Desh Government should provide security to Shri. Ghosh. Both the incidents of attack on advocate Shri. Ghosh should be investigated by international Human Rights Commission or concerned machinery, stringent action should be taken by the Government against those involved in atrocities against Hindus from Bangla Desh, immediate action should be taken against MP Abdulla and providing security to Shri. Ghosh were main demands. It was also demanded that Indian Government should pressurise Bangla Desh Government for fulfilment of these demands.
Goa : During demonstrations held at Panaji, demand was made to immediately close down unauthorised slaughter-houses in Goa. More than 350 devout Hindus participated in the demonstrations.
New Delhi : At Jantar-Mantar in New Delhi, demonstrations were held by devout Hindus against those responsible for publishing picture of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi smoking hookah. Also, support was extended to Saint Gopaldas from Haryana who has undertaken hunger strike for the past 84 days for his demand that the Government should free grazing grounds for cattle in the State. It was demanded that the Government should accept all demands made by Saint Gopaldas.
Devout Hindus surprised about absence of RSS, Bajarang Dal, VHP and BJP !
Agitations were staged at 42 places all over the country against incidents of injustice meted out to Hindus on 4th August. Although all demonstrations were held for issues related to ‘Hinduttva’, only at 2-3 places, very few members of RSS, Bajarang Dal, VHP and BJP were seen. Devout Hindus participating in these demonstrations were surprised as members of these organisations not taking part in agitations at many places. They also wondered whether these organisations were no longer interested in ‘Hinduttva’. ‘Hindu Jagaran Sanghatana’ from Nepal sent more than 1500 letters to Russian Consulate against decision to demolish ISKCON’s temple in Moscow.
