SWAMI LAXMANANANDA’S SACRIFICES REMEMBERED

The Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati Smruti Nyasa (SLSSN) observed the Swami’s 5th death anniversary here in the presence of Swami of Khandagiri Ananta Ashram Abhiram Saraswati Maharaj on Wednesday.

The meeting, led by SLSSN managing trustee and social activist Mansukhalal Sethia, strongly criticised the State Government and the police department for their failure in capturing and punishing the murderers of Laxmanananda Saraswati and his four associates. Besides, Swamiji’s works and sacrifices for the sake of religion were discussed at the meeting. Abhiram Saraswati said the services and sacrifices of Swamiji are incomparable and advised that everyone should work with a motive of service towards the society.

PG Council Chairman of Utkal University Prof Prafulla Kumar Mishra said Swamiji’s life was fully devoted to the country, religion and society. His efforts made thousands of people in Gajapati and Kandhamal districts prohibition and their standard of living have been improved.

Smruti Nyasa member Dr Laxmikanta Dash informed about the programmes including various health and awareness camps being taken up in Kandhamal on behalf of the SLSSN. Among others, Swami of Sarada Ashram at Uttara Pranarupananda Saraswati and SLSSN trustee Gopal Prasad Mohapatra were also present at the function.
