SC serious about renovation of Moola Vigraha at Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple

Thiruvananthapuram(Kerala): In a recent directive, the SC has ordered the complete renovation works of the moola vigraha (main idol) of Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple by October 15. Temple authorities have also been directed to undertake the cleaning works of Padmatheertham pond in the temple precincts. A Delhi-based representative has also been directed to inspect the area in mid-September.

Sree Padmanabha Temple situated the midtown of Thiruvananthapuram the state capital of Kerala. Only because of the part of State Regime of called Thiruvithamkoor Kingdom, who were so pious and dedicated to god as their protector. Because of that all the Kings just like every where in BharataVarsha safely kept all their valuable assets in the under ground safes of temples. The so called secular Governments now very much eye on those resources to heal the damage they are continuously making by corruption. The Devaswam Board which are the custodian of all temple properties of Kerala,  which is almost under the greedy politics not at all ready to do minimum maintenance of the temples. Now the Intervention of SC on this same issue gave little bit relief on Temple matter.-VSK Matter.

The SC directive was based on a 21-page affidavit submitted before the Apex Court by the temple authorities on Monday. It was filed in response to a 19-page confidential report against the temple administration, filed by Gopal Subramanium, the SC appointed Amicus Curiae.

"The points raised by the Supreme Court include renovation work of the 18-foot-long moola vigraha by October 15. It said the Archaeological Survey of India has taken a survey of the area, which needs to be supported," said temple executive officer Lt Col Bhuvanendran Nair.

The next hearing of the apex court is scheduled for October 30.

The temple authorities have also affirmed the setting up of surveillance cameras in the temple in order to detect thefts. "Police personnel have also been placed on guard. The move comes in wake of the Amicus Curiae report that no proper connect existed between temple administration and police. This is indicative that many thefts have taken place inside the temple. Though the report indicates that Gate 9 is not manned properly, it is the most manned as the inside gate is grilled and locked with commandos posted outside," said temple authorities.-By Janam TV news.

Onam slowly loosing its strong Hindu tradition.

Kochi (Kerala): Onam is a Hindu ancient festival which still survives in modern times celebrated by the people of Kerala, also the National Festival of Kerala with State holidays on 4 days starting from Onam Eve (Uthradom) to the fourth Onam Day. This year 2013- 8th September and from that day to next  10th day (sep 16th) comes Onam day.It is also a secular festival only because from the ancient period the season of Harvesting makes people more secure and joyful so it celebrates by people of all religions and castes with the same zeal. The festival falls during the Malayalam of Chingam (Aug - Sep) and marks the homecoming of the mythical King Mahabali who Malayalees consider as their King.Festival of Rain Flowers, which fall also on the Malayalam month of Chingam, celebrates the Asura King Mahabali's annual the visit from Patala (the underworld).Onam is reminiscent of Kerala's agrarian past, as it is considered to be a harvest festival. Also, it is one of the very few festivals that is celebrated with most number of cultural elements such as Vallam Kali(Snake Boat Race), Pulikkali(People paints their whole body as leopard and tiger and also like lion), Pookkalam(flower bed in the courtyard), Onappottan(a traditional art form dressed by one man coming each and every house), ThumbiThullal(a strong traditional dance using their rich black hair- practiced by ladies), Onavillu(a special bow which is decorated with the story of Hindu gods), Kazhchakkula(strong reminder of agrarian happiness) , Athachamayam (traditional procession with lot of tablows and martial and other art forms of Kerala which performs in the streets all
along the streets).

Now a days as any other festival, Onam loosing its traditional strength only because of that ,Kerala the moving fast as a consumer state more than agricultural and green paddy state. Islamic fundamentalism made a call recent years to eat beef, which make uproar among the Hindu organization on the fatal condition which ruins the Hindu rituals strict on vegetarian feast and other traditional pooja. In recent arguments they want 10 day long celebration holidays as in Onam season normally happens, in Ramzan also. For substantiating their arguments they also pointing out on X’mas holidays which also gives 10 days for educational Institutions.-VSK kerala special.
