Human chain at India Gate for solidarity with North-East India

NEW DELHI, August 27, 2012 : On the call of Mission Bhartiyam, youth formed a human chain recently at India Gate in solidarity with people of North East and victims of riots and violence.
Program coordinator Shekhar Jain told that we are really hurt by the recent ongoing violence and thus we feel that it is us (youths) who have responsibility to come forward and to show that we are against all violence and riots. He added that this human chain is a way to show our unity and solidarity, we also want to say that these violence and riots cannot disintegrate our society and we through our unity will rise every time together.
Pankaj Pathak from Mission Bhartiyam told that we were hurt by this violence and it’s after effects.
Ansaar Ahmed from NCHRO who joined the human chain told that this is the time of national emergency, our society is in danger and people must know that they are human first.
Large number of students joined the move and conveyed their will towards unity and harmony. People who were there at India Gate also joined hands and showed solidarity for people of North-East India. They souted slogans that 'we are one.'
Youths with the slogans of peace, non-violence and harmony formed. Many placards were pinned with persons that displayed condemnation of violence and riots; one placard states 'Na Bodo Na Muslamaan, Sabse Pehle Hai Insaan. '
