6 BANGLADESHI CRIMINALS CONVICTED IN BALESWAR

Local Additional Sessions Judge RK Sahoo on Friday convicted six Bangladeshi nationals and awarded them with 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 2,000, in default nine more months of RI.
They were held guilty on charge of dacoity and violation of foreign nationals Act. They are Arif Khan (26), Paus Khan (25), Md Abul Basar Mulla (31), Md Asadul Mulla (25), Sk Zahir (24) and Babu Khan.
The court, however, acquitted two accused of Baleswar, Sk Sadiq (30) of Azimabad and Sk Salim (65) of Basta, in this case on ground of want of adequate evidence. A case had been registered against them in May 2007 on the complaint of one Saroj Mandal of Darada village of the Basta area. They were involved a in a series of dacoity in Baleswar district.
