Protest : Business Today depicts cricketer MS Dhoni as Shri Vishnu

Protest : Business Today depicts cricketer MS Dhoni as Shri Vishnu

May 6, 2013

Appeal to devout Hindus

A business magazine named Business Today has denigrated Shri Vishnu by depicting cricketer MS Dhoni as Shri Vishnu on the front page of the magazine. In this picture it is shown that MS Dhoni has many hands and they carry various products like 'Lays, Gulf, Boost, Dabur etc.', thereby trivialising Shri Vishnu. Use of such picture is nothing but an insult of Shri Vishnu, a highly revered Hindu deity worshipped by billions of Hindus worldwide. Now it is duty of all Hindus to protest lawfully against Business Today so that they withdraw these magazines denigrating Shri Vishnu and they should also render unconditional apology to Hindus for hurting their religious sentiments. Devout Hindus can also take legal course against Business Today. Hindus shouls also buycott Business Today unless it tenders apology.
Devout Hindus can also send their lawful protests to concerned authorities through Comments Section.

Case against Dhoni for "hurting" religious sentiments

May 6, 2013
Bangalore (Karnataka) : A case has been registered in a local court against Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni for allegedly "denigrating" a Hindu god and "hurting" the religious sentiments of the Hindus.
The 6th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Choori Khan registered a case under section 295 (injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class) along with 34 of the Indian Penal Code against Dhoni on a complaint filed by social activist Jayakumar Hiremath.

In his complaint, Hiremath alleged that by posing for an advertisement in a business magazine as Lord Vishnu holding several things including a shoe in his hands, Dhoni had denigrated the Hindu god and hurt religious feelings of the Hindus.
Taking cognisance of the offence and registering the case, the court posted it to May 12 for recording of the statement of the complainant.

Demand to file case for showing cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the form of Bhagavan Vishnu

Are the powerful pro-Hindu organizations going to do something against it or going to keep mum as usual?
Tarantaran (Punjab) : On the front page of an English fortnightly ‘Business Today’, Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s photograph was published in the form of Bhagavan Vishnu on its April month’s second issue. (Many days have lapsed since the issue was published; but no action has yet been taken by the rulers exhibiting their Hindu –hatred ! Owing to such condition in the country, Hindu Deities are being constantly denigrated. Why should God protect such lifeless and ‘Dharma-heen’ Hindus? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) Hindus only have shown various products advertised by Dhoni, in his hands. In one of his hands, he is shown as holding shoes. Hindus have been protesting against this picture and are demanding to file case for such offence. Recently, different organizations staged demonstrations in Bohdi Chowk and blocked the roads; copies of the said periodical were burnt demanding action against the periodical and Dhoni; besides demand of their rendering apology to Hindus.

Vital organs missing in Sarabjit’s body : Second autopsy report

Vital organs missing in Sarabjit’s body : Second autopsy report

By Niticentral Staff

Even as outrage poured in India against the brutal killing of Sarabjit Singh, new revelation might aggravate the relation between the two countries. A second autopsy was conducted at Patti Hospital in Amritsar to as certain the cause of death and to cross-check the claims of Pakistan over the same and the time of death which found vital organs like heart, kidneys and stomach were missing from the body.
A panel of five doctors, consisting of heads of the departments of Forensic, Anaesthesia, Orthopaedics, Surgery and Pathology from Amritsar Medical College, conducted the post-mortem of Sarabjit’s body on Thursday night.
The motive behind the attack on Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh in a Pakistani prison was to “kill him,” a panel of doctors, which conducted the second autopsy, said Thursday.
“It was a clear case…the motive of attack (on Sarabjit) was to kill him,” Dr H S Rai, Head of Forensic Science Department, Government Medical College and Hospital here, who led the five-member doctors’ panel, said.
According to sources the panel found vital organs like heart, kidneys and stomach missing from the body of Sarabjit.
This will make the autopsy exercise in India grossly inconclusive, said doctors, raising further questions marks over the intentions and conduct of Pakistan in the case of Sarabjit, who was brutally assaulted inside the Kot Lakhpat Jail.
On Thursday, a six-member Pakistani medical board performed the autopsy of Sarabjit Singh, 49, at the Jinnah Hospital in Lahore, before handing over the body to the Indian officials.
Sarabjit died due to massive internal bleeding because of a head injury, according to the initial autopsy report that was conducted in Pakistan.
“It seems that a 5 cm-wide injury on the top of Sarabjit Singh’s skull contributed to his death,” said one of the members of the medical board that conducted the autopsy.
The member, who did not want to be identified, said the board found some minor injuries on Sarabjit’s face, neck and arms.
Sarabjit’s body was flown to India on a special Indian aircraft from Lahore.
Sarabjit died at Jinnah Hospital on early Thursday. He had been in a deep coma since he was assaulted by at least six prisoners within his barrack at Kot Lakhpat Jail on April 26.
Sarabjit was convicted of alleged involvement in a string of bomb attacks in Punjab province that killed 14 people in 1990 and spent about 22 years in Pakistani prisons.
According to his family he was the victim of mistaken identity and had inadvertently strayed across the border in an inebriated state.
Sarabjit’s mercy petitions were rejected by the courts and former President Pervez Musharraf. The previous Pakistan People’s Party-led Government put off Sarabjit’s execution for an indefinite period in 2008.

Why we are helpless before China

Why we are helpless before China

By Appu K Soman

Defence Minister AK Antony insisted a few months ago that “India of today is not the India of 1962.” He claimed that “successive Governments learning lessons from the past strengthened our capabilities and modernised our armed forces.” Antony was wrong. Successive Governments have refused to learn lessons from the past and have failed to strengthen India’s defence capabilities.
The failures that culminated in India’s humiliating defeat in 1962 are well known: Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru failed to provide adequately for India’s security. His Government, for years, failed to notice Chinese activity in Ladakh. Even after Nehru woke up to the China threat, the Government avoided strengthening the Himalayan defences. The Finance Ministry would not allocate adequate funds for defence. Nehru rejected Chief of Army Staff General KS Thimayya’s proposals to create specialised mountain divisions and to even prepare a manual on Chinese military tactics, out of fear that such actions might provoke China. Having failed to build up defence capabilities, the Government relied on diplomacy to manage China. By the time it learned that diplomacy from a position of weakness does not pay, it was too late.
The defeat in 1962 and the resulting public outrage led to a belated burst of activity to strengthen the defences against China. Ten mountain divisions were created at last. But growing economic troubles soon forced a cutback in defence spending. The newly built up forces required modernisation of their equipment. The India of the 1970s could not afford it.
In the early 1980s India, for the first time in its history, acted proactively to strengthen its defences. Under Operation Falcon — Army Chief of Staff General KV Krishna Rao’s plan for forward defense approved by Indira Gandhi — India began upgrading the long-neglected infrastructure along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). His successor, Gen Krishnaswamy Sundarji, initiated a programme for modernising the Army. The plan involved increasing the mobility and firepower of the mountain divisions and the forming of two air assault divisions.
Thanks to the buildup of Indian military capabilities in these years, India could face China with confidence during the Sumdorong Chu crisis of 1986-1987, the last time the two countries were in a face-off similar to the current standoff in Ladakh. The Indian Army was significantly stronger then than the one the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) had routed in 1962. The Indian Air Force was more than a match for the PLA Air Force. The IAF’s MiG-21 fighters were superior to China’s reverse-engineered copies of early version MiG-21s. Besides, the IAF had recently acquired MiG-23s, MiG-29s and Mirage-2000s. The Chinese aircrafts would have found it difficult to operate from the airbases in Tibet. The IAF, facing no such problem, would have easily won air supremacy in the theatre.
The economic downturn that began in 1988 led to the abandonment of the plan to create air-assault divisions and to the slowing down and eventual abandonment of the Rao plan and the rest of the Sundarji plan. India once again lowered its guard, leaving it to diplomacy not backed by adequate strength to deal with China.

The timing of India’s defence cutbacks was unfortunate. China had started modernisation of the PLA in a big way in 1985. In January 1993, the Chinese government, learning from the lessons of the 1991 Gulf War, began to prepare the PLA to fight “local wars under high technology conditions.” China put in a stupendous effort to improve its Tibetan infrastructure, building roads, airports and a rail line all the way to the border with India. China now has the ability to overwhelm Indian forces at locations of its choosing along the LAC. China has eroded India’s advantage in the air by acquiring combat aircraft capable of operating from Tibet’s high altitude airbases. The Chinese air force recently demonstrated its enhanced capabilities by conducting live fire training exercises in the Qinghai-Tibet region.
India’s defence modernisation, halted in 1988, never really regained momentum even after the economy reached much higher levels of growth and evidence of China’s increasing capabilities mounted. Defense expenditure as a percentage of the GDP has steadily declined over the years, demonstrating the government’s unwillingness to spend adequately on national security. All three services now have serious deficiencies.
Emboldened by India’s weakness and the UPA Government’s lack of determination to defend the country’s security interests demonstrated by its weak-kneed handling of Pakistan, China once again turned the screws on India. In 2006, Beijing went back on its 2005 agreement with India to leave out areas with settled populations from territorial claims. After that, frequent Chinese intrusions into areas India claims along all sectors of the LAC began. India has responded with excessive caution. According to media reports, the fear of another embarrassing defeat at China’s hands forced the government to restrain Indian troops from patrolling up to the LAC as perceived by India in some locations. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police reportedly patrols unarmed in some sectors. Former Chief of Army Staff General Shankar Roychowdhury once commented that India’s passive response to Chinese aggressiveness has at times verged on “apparent deference.”
In 2008, finally the government decided to equip the armed forces for a two-front war. The plan included two new mountain divisions plus a mountain strike corps for counterattacks deep into Tibet. It was a fairly modest plan, given the scale of China’s buildup in Tibet. Even that plan fell victim to the UPA government’s lack of commitment to national defence. In a throwback to the 1950s, the Finance Ministry held up the proposal for the mountain strike corps. The reasons offered for the rethink are striking: (1) shortage of funds; (2) the fear of provoking China; (3) the Finance Ministry’s doubts about “the longevity of the China threat.” Meanwhile, the building of infrastructure proceeded at a snail’s pace.
It is as if an unseen hand makes sure that the Government of India periodically repeats the mistakes leading up to the 1962 defeat in exactly the same way. Hopefully, the latest crisis will have answered the Finance Ministry’s question about the longevity of the China threat. But the proclivity to avoid strengthening defences out of fear of provoking China is so deeply ingrained in official thinking that it is hard to see the government overcoming it anytime soon.
The crisis in Ladakh demonstrates that the India of today is no different from the India of 1962. A quarter century of neglect of its armed forces has left the country with no easy military option. The history of Sino-Indian negotiations leaves not a shred of hope that diplomacy will succeed this time around. The American humorist Will Rogers called diplomacy “the art of saying ‘nice doggie’ until you can find a rock.” India dispenses with looking for a rock altogether. It has made saying ‘nice doggie’ its entire national security strategy.

Over 1500 Hindu temples and homes damaged in Bangladesh upto March 2013

A statue (murthy) of Lord Krishna at a Hindu temple attacked and destroyed by Fanatics in Bangladesh
(CHAKRA) Fanatics attacked innocent Hindu temples, homes and shops of Hindus in four districts in Bangladesh. Since Jamaat leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee was handed down a death sentence for war crimes in February, dozens of hindu temples, houses and shops of non-muslim minorities across the country have been vandalized  torched and looted. Basudev Dhar, president of Greater Dhaka Puja Committee, yesterday said these communal attacks were demoralising many Hindu families. A local blogger published a picture of a 2 years old hindu boy chopped to death by Jamma-E- Islamic supporters  at Noakhali in Bangladesh – see here. These terrifying events have been largely ignored by international news and media agencies.
Bangladesh’s giant English news media – the Daily Star reported the following in an article called Hindus attacked afresh in 4 dists on March 20th, 2013:
{ In Netrakona, rioters vandalised Hari Mandir in Bobahala village under sadar upazila, damaging seven idols. Temple priest Mithun Chand, said, “I returned home around 11:00pm [Monday] keeping the Mandir under lock and key. “The next morning, I found the temple vandalised.”Also on Monday night, vandals damaged four idols of Hindu goddesses at Kripamoyee Kali Mandir under Sripur upazila in Gazipur. Amir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sripur Police Station, said, “The temple, situated on the premises of the house of schoolteacher Shupendru Chandra Das, was vandalised sometime at night. The attackers took away the heads of the deities.” }
Chittagong.
“Despite the recent arrest of Chowdhury, Jamaat and Islami Chhatra Shibir activists continue to attack the Hindu community in Bangladesh with impunity,” said Samir Kalra, Esq., HAF’s Director and Senior Human Rights Fellow. “The government’s failure to adequately protect religious minorities from ongoing attacks or rehabilitate those already victimized by the violence is unacceptable.”
Media accounts indicated that several Buddhist villages and temples had also been targeted by Islamic extremists. JeI supporters reportedly set off bombs and torched dozens of vehicles in at least four neighborhoods in the capital city of Dhaka, allegedly aimed at causing panic amongst ordinary Bangladeshi citizens.
“These latest attacks are not unique, but rather part of a larger historical pattern of violence against religious minorities and secular Bangladeshis by Jamaat-e-Islami and its affiliates,” said Jay Kansara, HAF’s Washington, D.C. based Associate Director. “From 1971 to the present, JeI leaders have systematically orchestrated and engaged in attacks on non-Muslims and liberal Bengalis in their quest to create a theocratic Islamic state in Bangladesh.”

Central aid to Madrassas misused, says CAG report !

Central aid to Madrassas misused, says CAG report !

May 4, 2013

The state government looked away as the Central funds for providing quality education in madrassas were siphoned off, flouting norms and regulations, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has blamed.
The CAG report 2012 reprimanded the Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) for misusing Rs.1.54 crore by paying full-time salary for part-time teachers under the Scheme for Providing Quality Education in Madrassas (SPQEM) in Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Palakkad. The loss to the exchequer would have been higher, ballooning into a multi-crore fraud, had the CAG audited the implementation of the scheme at the state-level.
“The DPI had not obtained necessary clarifications and approval from GOI before making payments of teaching grant of Rs.1.54 crore to 149 part-time madrassa teachers at the rate of full timers,” the CAG commented after examining the SPQEM in the four districts.
During 2010-11, Central assistance to the tune of Rs.14.68 crore was paid to 547 madrassas in the state. These madrassas were also provided one-time Central grant for purchasing computers, books and establishment of science laboratories and assistance for on-the-job training to teachers. The Central government had released a one-time grant of Rs.713.21 lakh for this. Madrassas were given a free hand in utilising the grant, and in the selection of teachers under norms laid down by the Central government.
An amount of `42,84,000 was given away to 38 madrassas in Kannur district alone as the first instalment of teachers’ payment under SPQEM. As per the data accessed by Express, a sum of Rs.77,46,000 was disbursed among these madrassas as one-time grant for purchasing computers, books, etc. A total of 86 teachers (33 post-graduates and 53 graduates) were engaged, according to the data, in the district under the scheme in 2010-11.
Each full-time graduate teacher was to be paid salary for 12 months at the rate of Rs.6,000 and post-graduate/BEd teacher, 12,000 per month. The CAG found that an amount of Rs.3.90 crore was paid to 152 madrassas in the four districts where the audit was performed.
The Central scheme was meant for children of educationally backward Muslim minorities who attend maktabs/madrassas/darul-ulooms that engaged largely in providing religious teaching and with very little participation in the national mainstream education system. But, in Kerala, very few madrassas are working as full-time religious teaching centres and all students have access to mainstream education facilities. So, the teaching under SPQEM in Kerala, at its best, is not more than a private tuition facility along with mainstream education, funded by the Central government. The records of 108 madrassas in the four districts accessed by the CAG proved that the children there were attending national mainstream education system in general schools, and all 108 of them were functioning only part-time. “The DPI, while disbursing the assistance to madrassas, had not assessed their working hours, number of children who were learning only religious teaching and curriculum to be followed in the madrassas,” the CAG observed. “There was no mechanism in place with the DPI to ascertain whether the mainstream subjects like mathematics, science, English and computers were taught and how the time was allotted for teaching the same in madrassas.” The SPQEM envisaged a training programme to improve the pedagogical skills of teachers by SCERT or DIET.

China’s dream is India’s nightmare

By Claude Arpi

Whatever happens in the future in Ladakh, India has already lost the battle. Even if the Chinese agree to withdraw, they will still claim that particular area near the Karakoram pass as theirs and this, forever.
Though the Chinese incursions or transgressions, as it is poetically termed by the MEA, occur regularly, this time it was much deeper than usual and while during ‘routine visits’, Chinese troops come and go (after leaving some ‘souvenirs’ of their visit, such as rock paintings in red), this time, they came with their tents and provisions. It is a big difference.
Postponing Premier Li Keqiang’s visit to India next month could have been an option for India to show its displeasure. Unfortunately, the present leaders do not have the political will.
Look at what China did to the British Prime Minister David Cameron. He had to cancel his visit to Beijing.
His crime? He had met the Dalai Lama in May 2012 in London. The South China Morning Post says: “British Prime Minister David Cameron abandoned a trip to China planned for this month as Beijing punished him for meeting the Dalai Lama.”
Delhi should have shown its displeasure in that way; simply because it is a language Beijing can understand. But it is not the Indian way!
When one studies the Chinese incursions in Ladakh (as well as in Arunachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand), it is important to look at them in the context of ‘the Chinese Dream’. Since November 2012, when he reached the top of the Party, Xi Jinping regularly speaks of the ‘Chinese Dream’, a dream of a rejuvenated, non-corrupt China, where the Chinese ‘race’ could live a happy, prosperous and harmonious life.
In an article in Asia Times, Francesco Sisci, a China watcher, made a fascinating analysis of Xi Jinping’s new concept. Sisci argued that this dream is not enough: “Both Chinese and Westerners have spent a lot of time and spilled much ink trying to explain the significance of the Chinese dream, yet Xi Jinping presented also another concept that is possibly even more important. He said the earth needs a ‘world dream’ (shijie meng).”
Does Xi have a World Dream? It seems so.
In an interview with BRICS journalists before he left for his foreign tour, Xi said: “China being the world’s second largest economy, the China Dream also will bring opportunities to the world. … The China Dream will be realised through a road of peace.”
A few days later, addressing the Moscow Academy of International Relations, the Chinese President asserted: “The China Dream will bring blessings and goodness to not only the Chinese people but also people in other countries.”
On April 10, commenting on Xi Jinping’s speech at the Boao Forum in which he rebuked North Korea, The China Daily wrote: “This new concept of shared security is in stark contrast to the parochial approach, which tends to view security based on one’s own interests and needs. Driven by such an undesirable approach, a country will always calculate its own gains first whenever there is a regional or global security crisis.”
An editorial published in Beijing by The Voice of China (zhongsheng) at the time of the visit of General Martin Dempsey, the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff General, spoke of “an interdependent global village in which security comes from cooperative measures and allowing other states space for their security, rather than unilateral measures.”
Peter Mattis, in an article in the China Brief of the Jamestown Foundation explained further: “[It] means countries must respect each state’s right to pursue its own political and economic development. Xi noted the world’s increasing interdependence and non-traditional security threats meant that states should not pursue security unilaterally, but should rely on cooperative security, collective security and common security to address their threat environment.”
Sisci rightly affirmed: “Despite the fact that the content of the Chinese dream is still vague and hazy, it is clear that the Chinese dream and the world dream must be consistent with one another. China should not clash with the rest of the world or with the incumbent powers, but should lead alongside them. China speaks of a dream of living a good life, free of need and hunger.”
His conclusion was: “China’s world view needs in fact to be consistent with the broad world view that has shaped and dominated the world for the past 500 years.”
Now, considering Xi’s dual Dreams (for China and for the World), how to explain the deep Chinese intrusions into Indian territory in Ladakh ?
Is the Chinese Dream’s aim grabbing more Indian territory ?
Does China want to show India its place as a subordinate country ?
When Xi says that “the China Dream will be realised through a road of peace”, can it be after humiliating and putting down a ‘friendly’ neighbour like India ?
Clearly, if President Xi wants his Dream to be holistic, it will have to include China’s neighbours and the world at large. Unfortunately, the Ladakh episode does not seem to go in this direction.

The Symposium was timed to celebrate Earth Day, a history making day for the Green Kumbh Yatra. During a ceremony at the Old City's Jaffa Gate with the Tower of David and the Old City walls serving as a backdrop, Vyas presented the Green Kumbh to Hon. Nir Barkat, Mayor of Jerusalem.
Earlier, Vyas took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony to launch the Cool Globes Exhibition with the aim to inspire a call to environmental action.
On  April 24th, when residents of Jerusalem came together to welcome the return of the Common Swift to their nesting sites in the Western Wall,  Vyas was invited to offer Hindu prayer at the ceremony.  In a brief statement followed by a Vedic prayer, Vyas compared the arrival of the swifts to the huge flocks of winged Siberian birds that she saw during her visit to the Maha Kumbh Mela at the confluence of the sacred Rivers Ganges and Yamuna.
The Green Kumbh Yatra has no modern precedent. was formally launched on October 14, 2012 at COP11 - Eleventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity at Hyderabad in collaboration with the Secretariat of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity and others.
Since its launch, it has travelled through India, Kenya, Nepal and Israel. It is expected to arrive in the UK where Green Kumbh activities are planned for several cities. After leaving the UK, the Yatra will continue its journey across various countries to ultimately arrive in South Korea for COP12 in 2014.
While the Green Kumbh is rooted in the Hindu religion, Vyas feels that spiritual leaders and those associated with any religious organization should come forward to help solve the practical problems of climate change and biodiversity loss.
“Our main aim is to mobilize the masses at grassroots and raise public and political awareness by highlighting the profound connection between the collective wisdom and resources of the faith traditions and their role in biodiversity conservation and sustainable use” says Vyas.
Naomi Tsur, Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem and organizer of the Symposium, says, “Faith Communities of the world actually constitute the largest civil society movement on planet Earth. And that is a tremendous force for impact and change for good”.

VHP’s Nation Wide Nation Wide Agitation Against Pak today

VHP’s Nation Wide Nation Wide Agitation Against Pak today
Delhi, May 2, 2013
Announcing Nation Wide democratic agitation TODAY with demonstrations at dist, tehsil centers, villages, towns & cities, VHP International Working President Dr Pravin Togadia condemned Pakistan for brutally murdering Sarabjit Singh in jail.
Dr Togadia said, “20 yrs Sarabjit Singh languished in Pak jail. There are thousands of such Sarabjits in Pak jails for many yrs. We have been demanding exact details of these Hindustanis in Pak jails, their names, places & their condition in Pak now, but no Govt is giving it to us. Before Sarabjit, many such cases happened but due to Bharat’s weak policies, Pak has become bold now. With Chinese military support now Pak has started daring not only the Indian Govt but also the Hindustanis! No more. Hindustanis will NOT tolerate Pak’s mischief anymore.”
Dr Togadia demanded:
1.      Indian Govt should cancel ALL Visas given to Pakistanis immediately on any grounds – Trade, Medical, Educational, Work, Sports or Art / Cinema / Music etc.
2.      Hindustanis should stop all relations with Pakistanis. Traders should stop trade, doctors should demand the Govt not to give visas to Pakistanis, Cinema / Sports / Music / Fashion industries should stop giving any work to Pakistanis any more.
3.      Govt of India should insist on sending the National Human Rights Commission along with the team of Indian Doctors, Senior Judge, Senior police officer, UNHRC representative & a family member of Sarabjit Singh to Pakistan to investigate the attack on Sarabjit, to examine his medical papers for authenticity of the line of treatment & his Post Mortem report too.
4.      Hindustanis at borders should not allow any trucks / buses from Pak to enter Bharat.
5.      Govt should at least now sever all ties with Pakistan – Trade, Travel & Diplomatic.
6.      Govt should close Indian Embassy in Pakistan & demand that UN declares Pakistan a Terror State immediately & also to demand globally that Pakistan should be put on top in the list of Human Rights violations.
7.      Trucks of vegetables, fruits, grain, medicines should not be allowed to enter POK as the Kashmir separatists have not condemned Sarabjit’s murder by Pak but have condemned Afzal’s hanging!
Dr Togadia appealed to all Hindustanis in Bharat & abroad to participate in TODAY’S Nation Wide agitation democratically & peacefully. The representatives of the Hindustanis led by VHP, Bajrang Dal, Durga Vaahini will give memorandum to the local Admin demanding Govt to cut all ties with Pak & handing over of all Pakistani culprits to Bharat including those attacked Sarabjit as well as those in the list of Jehadis hiding in Pak. Dr Togadia also demanded that Sarabjit be given Paramveer Chakra & his family members should be helped with facilities in studies for his daughters & jobs for them. His wife & sister be given a house & compensation.

RSS expressed grief/sadness on Sarabjit Sing’s death, says ‘It is an open assault on India’s Constitution’

Rashtreeya Swayamsevak Sangh,
Keshava Kunj, JhandeWalan, New Delhi:
PRESS RELEASE by Dr Manmohan Vaidya, Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh.
May, 02, 2013:
Sarabjit Sing
Sarabjit Sing
The Brutal and Barbarian attacks on Indian citizen Shri Sarabjeet Singh who was lodged in a Pakistani  jail proved fatal and led to his untimely death. This has saddened and angered people across India. The   attacks on Shri Sarabjeet by Pakistani hooligans was to avenge the hanging of Afzal Guru who was  hanged only when India’s Supreme Court awarded him with death sentence after finding him guilty.  On the contrary, there was no unanimity in Pakistan over either on the nature of offence or on the  quantum of sentence awarded to Shri Sarabjeet by the Pakistani courts. In this context brutal attacks on  an individual lodged in Pakistani jail raises a big question mark on political and judicial set up of  Pakistan.
In fact, the attacks have not happened on an individual named Sarabjeet Singh, rather it is an open assault on India’s Constitution and its Judicial set up.  Earlier on, Sarabjeet Singh had expressed concerns over his safety with the authorities in Pakistan.  Sarabjeet had apprised the Pakistani authorities about impending plans to attack him. Yet despite this the Pakistani authorities did little to provide any kind of security to him or to shift him to a safer location.  This in itself is a serious error on the part of Pakistani authorities.  The Indian government should take cognizance of this unfortunate incident and condemn the incident in no uncertain words.
Today, the entire family of Shri Sarabjeet Singh is mourning his untimely death. Their anguish is  justified.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is with the family in their hour of profound grief. May the soul  of Shri Sarabjeet Singh rest in peace and may God God give strength to his family members.

RECORD 73.11% STUDENTS PASS MATRIC EXAMINATIONS

RECORD 73.11% STUDENTS PASS MATRIC EXAMINATIONS

As many as 5, 14, 590 students out of 5, 76, 953 , who appeared at the High School Certificate (HSC-Matriculation) Examinations-2013 of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) came out successful registering a record pass percentage of 73.11, which is said to be an all-time high. The results of the examinations that were held between February 25 and March 9 were declared on Tuesday.
State School and Mass Education Minister Rabi Narayan Nanda releasing the result booklets here at the BSE office congratulated the BSE staff and teachers of the State for making a sincere effort and declaring the results ahead of all other Boards in the country.
“The reforms made in the matriculation examinations in the State have started yielding results, and we shall continue this endeavour to ensure that the sanctity of the examinations is retained while relieving the examination pressure on students,” the Minister said.
Statistics of the results indicate that as many as 1,56,097 students passed in the first division and 1,81,263 students made it in the second division while 1,77, 230 students passed in the third division.
Besides, results of 1,175 students were withheld for some reasons and the BSE officials informed that results of these students would be made public within seven days. Similarly, results of 8,440 students were not announced on the day as they were booked under for ‘malpractice’ for adopting unfair means during the examinations.
While the BSE made a commendable effort to announce the results in record time, some students, however, complained of faulty evaluation, tabulation and uploading marks in computer as result sheets of some promising students indicated ‘zero’ mark in some subjects like Sanskrit.
When the same was brought to the notice of the BSE President DP Nanda, he acknowledged them and said all such complaints would be addressed within three days and no student would be allowed to suffer for no fault of theirs.

The result statistics further revealed that among the districts, the students of Baleswar recorded higher pass percentage (86.97) while the students of Nuapada fared poorest registering only 51.38 pass percentage.
While 5,13,474 students wrote the examinations in the Regular stream, 54, 947 appeared for the Ex-Regular stream and another 8,542 appeared in the correspondence course.
Among the regular students, the pass percentage was 75.99 of which 1,05,148 passed in first division, 1,27,209 passed in second division and 1,53,202 passed in third division.
In order to avoid unethical competitions among the schools, the BSE this year did not publish the top-hundred list of the students much to the dismay of some bright students belonging to private schools. Schools run by the RSS under Shiksha Vikash Samiti were occupying most of the slots in the top hundred.

BJP DECRIES COP ATTACK ON SUKTEL AGITATORS, NEWSMEN

BJP DECRIES COP ATTACK ON SUKTEL AGITATORS, NEWSMEN

BJP State president KV Singh Deo strongly condemned the “brutal attack” of the police on people protesting the Lower Suktel Project in Balangir district on Monday.
“Use of police force against women agitators and even severely injuring media representatives covering the event is beyond civilised approach to handle protests in a democratic setup,” he said, urging the State Government to tender unconditional apology for the attack on mediapersons and agitators. Singh Deo said the Government is bound by its moral and legal obligations to take care of interests of displaced families with more human touch, but the Naveen Patnaik Government is insensitive to the genuine demands of people.
His party stands for compensation to displaced families at current market price of land, he added. Singh Deo also denounced the arrest of women agitators and demanded their early release without putting them to any legal hurdles. He advised the Government to enter into negotiations with the agitators and amicably settle the issue with more concern for displaced families.
