Students vow for making of new India

Jajpur, 11/11 (VISAKEO): "India is not a State but a Statesman, we should live for it and die for it". This statement has not been confined into only books and literary pieces. The students of all the colleges and institutions of Jajpur district have vowed to make India a strong and powerful Nation in the door of the world.

At least 539 students of the district have committed a promise for the making of a developed Nation in the field of science & technology, fine arts, literature and economics in which India had been achieved fame once upon a time, at a student seminar on 'Indian and making of a powerful India' at Kharasrota College in Singhpur on behalf of Sri Guruji Janmasatabdi Samaroh Samiti Jajpur district. Joining as a Spokesman, the Bharatiya Majdoor Sangh Zonal Secretary Sri. 'Management failure caused Puri temple stampede'

(Visakeo, 10/8/06) Years of inefficient management, unrealistic approach, failure to take on-the-spot decisions at the time of crisis, lack of foresightedness of the officers who are non conversant with the temple rules, non adherence to the scheduled programmes for niti or rituals on Friday and Saturday mornings-- all these had a cumulative effect on the sorrowful incident of stampede which recently took away four innocent lives, sources said.

It is further understood as directed by the chief administrator, office orders were issued on October 30 detailing the time schedule of Sri Mandir rituals on those Panchuka days when lakhs of visitors were expected to come to the temple like previous years.

Still, the most routinely conducted rituals including special Vesha (Ceremonial dressing) days with visitors performing month long havishya with daily rush of lakhs of people from different places without any disturbances, collapsed on the fateful day which is now a commonly admitted fact, "It was due to mismanagement and could have been avoided.

"The temple chief administrator minced matters on the first day saying that the cause of the incident was unscheduled closure of inside doors of Sri Mandir (Pahuda Niti) on Friday night. And after coming back to his office he changed his statement and said that the reason of the chaos was breaking of fire from a deepa near Mangal Mandir.

However calling an urgent meeting of the Managing Committee of Sri Mandir by the Puri Gajapati, Dibya Singh Deo and immediate formation of a 11 member Fact Finding Committee in the matter has created fear among all erring officials including officers of both civil and police administration and employees of Sri Mandir as more and more eye witnesses are coming up each new day to submit written statements regarding the incident and of course, blaming it mostly on administration failure.

It is understood that hundreds of petitions have been filed before the administration and the petitioners are ready to appear on November 10 to give witness. Interestingly, the in-house enquiry as being called Fact finding Committee has included all administrative officers including the chief administrator in the purview of the enquiry, which has been welcomed by the common people.

Further added to this, the Sankaracharya of Puri Nischalanda Saraswati has said this has happened due to failure of administration, which did not try to learn any lesson from a similar incident in 1993 Nagarjun Vesha of Sri Jagannath.

This has disturbed the peace of all erring officers who were not present inside Sri Mandir on the day. The entire responsibility was left on the shoulders of a few lower grade police officials, constables and JTPs including newly recruited JTS forces with no coordination among them.

It is being alleged the Fact Finding Committee members have been pressurised to submit their reports in favour of the administration and the Government is presently sitting over the file to appoint a sitting High Court Judge as one man enquiry commission waiting till the submission of committee's report.

It appears this time people have raised to the occasion and erring officials will not be spared. One of the petitioners who is appearing before enquiry on Friday said, the Government should also review the existence of such huge administrative set up of Sri Mandir administration flooded with white collared officers and employees who believe more in file works in Government offices rather than devoting themselves to the service of the Jagannath Temple.

Dalits put off temple entry plan

Friday November 10 2006, KENDRAPARA(:visakeo) The Dalits of Keraragard village under Rajnagar block have postponed their decision to barge into the 300-year-old Jagannath temple in the village on November 19 after the district administration promised to sort out the issue in a week.

According to Sangram Mallick, a Dalit leader and president of Ambedkar-Lohai Bichar Mancha, the district administration and police on Thursday discussed the matter with the Dalit leaders and upper caste people. It was decided that the Dalits will postpone their plan for at least a week.

Earlier, many Dalits had warned of forcefully entering the Jagannath temple to avenge the humiliation of four Dalit women who were allegedly assaulted by priests and upper caste people in the temple last year after they entered the sanctum sanctorum.

At the meeting, Dalit leader and president of Jagannath temple entry committee Rabindranath Sethi asked the Collector to take action against the upper caste persons who have been preventing Dalits from entering the temple.

"Dalits are only entitled to see the deity through nine holes of the temple. But they have no right to enter the temple," said Anil Kumar Bala, the president of Jagannath Surakhya Committee of Keraragard. Meanwhile, Rabindra Narayan Bhanjdeo, the present King of Rajkanika and Managobinda Jena, the manager of Rajkanika palace on Wednesday met Dibyasingh Dev, the Puri 'Raja' and sought his help to solve the problem. "The Puri King has refused to intervene," Managobinda Jena told this website's newspaper.

Cong must explain support to Afzal: Katiyar

(VISAKOE, 8/11) The BJP central leadership on Wednesday urged upon the State leadership to provide unflinching support to the newly elected State unit president Suresh Pujari. Addressing a huge public meeting on Wednesday, general secretary of BJP in-charge of Orissa Vinay Katiyar said with the necessary support provided to the State leadership, the party could come out victorious in the forthcoming panchayat elections.

The meeting was organised to felicitate the newly elected president Pujari. Earlier, BJP Mahila Morcha national president Karuna Shukla announced Suresh Pujari had been unanimously elected as the State president of the party. Coming down heavily upon the Congress, Katiyar said the way the Congress was supporting the prime accused in the Parliament attack had created a strong resentment in the public.

"The Congress must have to answer why it has been supporting Afzal Guru responsible for the attack. Guru must be hung and Sonia Gandhi has to answer why the party has taken such a soft stand and become so lenient to the terrorist organisations," he said, adding the BJP and its alliance partner would no more tolerate the way national song Vande Mataram was being constantly mistreated.

He further said that the Congress party would be ousted from power and the process had already begun in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP had already grabbed a number of chairmen posts in the recently held urban local body election in Uttar Pradesh and it would be reflected soon in the whole country, he added.

Katiyar said if the NDA again came to power, Central assistance would again pour into Orissa. He further indicated that outgoing president Oram would be given more responsibility at the national level.

On this occasion, outgoing president Jual Oram admitted the party had not got the desired result in the Talsara by-election. But it should not act as a demoralising factor, he added. He also recollected how the party has been strengthened over the years and how the activists took part in each rally starting from Tiranga rally in Bangalore to Kisan Morcha in Delhi and how all of them participated in Rajnath Singh's Bharat Suraksha Yatra. He further reiterated how the party successfully organised rail roko on different occasions to protest against the apathetic attitude of the Centre.

The new president Suresh Pujari said he would try to strengthen the party at the grassroot level and put all effort to expedite party programmes at different levels. He said under his leadership the BJP would act as a bridge between the Government, party and the public. He would put more focus on building mutual cooperation between the party and the Government. Relationship between the BJP and BJD would be further strengthened, he said.

People to decide on Dalits' temple entry: Kanika scion

(VISAKEO, 8/11)In the wake of a petition filed in the Orissa High Court by an advocate seeking entry of Dalits into the Keradagada Jaggannath Temple, the King of Kanika Rabindra Narayan Bhanj Deo on Wednesday referred the issue to the awaited verdict of Mukti Mandap and the people of Rajnagar to decide on the right thing to do.

The petitioner cited the Articles 14, 15 and 19 of the Indian Constitution, which grants the right to equality and the freedom of religion and faith.

After the fall of kingship in 1947, the so called royal palace has lost its past glory and it is up to the people of Rajnagar to decided on the temple entry of dalits at Keradagad of Kendrapara district. What ever the people and the Mukti Mandap decide, Kanika royal palace would respect it and obey it in both letter and spirit, king Bhanj Deo said.

Talking exclusively to The Pioneer, Bhanj Deo informed that he has sought help of Mukti Mandap. He also urged both the dalits and upper caste people of Rajnanagar to sit together and discuss the issue and solve it amicably. After camping for four days at Puri to chalk out the future strategies, Bhanj Deo however expressed his unhappiness over the politicisation of the issue and made it clear majority wish should be obeyed.

He said the Constitution and religious feelings are two different things and the issue should be solved with due respect to the age-old tradition and practices of the Keradagada Temple. "The Kanika royal palace does not want to fall into controversy over the issue, we are working only as caretaker of the temple and it is for the local people to decide what they want," the king said. He urged the dalits to postpone protest day slated for November 19 as the matter is pending with the Mukti Mandap. He however refrained from airing his personal views.

Meanwhile, palace sources blamed Jajpur MP Mohan Jena as the conspirator against the whole issue and slammed him for his role in turning the issue into a controversy. Countering this, the Kanika palace has also sought political help from Aul royal palace led by MLA Pratap Keshri Deo, besides Deo's mother Sushree Devi, who is also a BJD Rajya Sabha member.

Sources said king Bhanj Deo would likely discuss the issue with Deo's family as the matter is heading for a hectic political debate in Kendrapara. As the temple itself is a prestige issue for the Kanika palace, the king seemed worried, in the wake of the threat given by the dalits as well as the Ambedkar Lohia Vichar Manch to enter into the Temple on November 19.

When contacted MLA Pratap Keshri Deo said the temple has been run by a private trust led by the Kanika palace and the palace has the right to allow or not to allow dalits into the temple.

He said Barahjew Temple at Aul has no problem with dalits entry but there has been a tradition in Kerdagada since a very long time and he favoured to respect the tradition. "As the matter is a personal issue of Kanika king, he should decide the right thing," he said.

Pujari takes a dig at Centre for ‘step-motherly attitude’ towards Orissa

(VISAKEO, 8/11) Elected State BJP president Suresh Pujari called upon party workers to fight against the UPA Government at the Centre for its step-motherly attitude towards Orissa. Pujari who took over charge from the outgoing president Jual Oram, MP at a public function here on Tuesday said the prime objective of the party will be to bring the Government to the people. The party will function as a bridge between the people and the Government.

Lambasting the UPA Government at the Centre, the youth leader from Western Orissa said the State has always suffered under Congress rule. While the NDA Government under the leadership of Atal Behari Vajpayee had opened up the national exchequer for the development of Orissa, the UPA Government has been neglecting the State even during the time of calamity, he added.

Asserting that the BJP has reached to the grassroots level of the State, Pujari said it is time to galvanise the party by reorienting the cadres. The party has to be people oriented, he said and pledged to achieve this.

Admitting that he could not sleep last night, Pujari said the new responsibility is like a mountain on his head. He, however, expressed his confidence to pass the test of the time with the support of the party workers and leaders.

The coming panchayat election is a challenge for the party to prove its organisational strength, he said adding, there is very little time for everyone in the party to face the challenge.

While appreciating the discipline among the party workers and leaders in the State for unanimously electing Pujari as the new president, National BJP secretary Vinay Kaiyar exhorted them to work in such cohesion during the next panchayat elections. The coming panchayat election should be a reminder to the UPA Government whose days are numbered.

National president of BJP Yuva Morcha Dharmendra Pradhan criticised the minority appeasement policy of the UPA Government and continued neglect of Orissa in the matter of providing assistance to the flood affected area and special assistance to KBK districts.

The meeting coordinated by Raj Kishore Das was also addressed by Minister for Law and Industries BB Harichandan, Revenue Minister Manmohan Samal, former union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, legislator and former minister Bimbdhar Kuanr besides Oram.

Tragedy in SriMandir

Puri, 04/11 (VISAKEO): At least 4 people died and 25 people injured in a heavy crowd in the world famous Puri Jagannath temple premise today in the morning. The injured people have been shifted to the nearest government hospital. Such an incident is a matter of insult for which the State Government has condemned the administration.

On the eve of Bada Osha and concluding day of Kartik Poornami the members of the famous temple had turned off the doors to offer a VIP treatment to one of VIP in the State. In the mean time, the people made crowd in the premise to have a darshan to the three Lords – Jagannath, Balvadra, and Devi Subhadra. When one door was opened the crowd was out of control, as a result, 4 people were subject for the death and other 25 people are still fighting with death in the hospital. One of the died people Basanti belongs to Balasore, one from Berhampur, another from Sambalpur and the last old man’s dead bodu can not be recognized.

The doors of the temple never get closed during the holy month of Kartik, as the devotees come from different areas and localities to the temple particularly in this month for the rituals, that’s why such type of incident never happens, opines the district collector of Puri. However the tragedy happened because of the separation of the temple administration and the police from each other caused by crowd, but the death due to crowd is not for the first time rather it is the second tragedy after the Nagarjun besha in 1993 when 5 people had been the victim in the temple premise, said the temple Administrator. The question arises why the doors were shut down in the morning? The local unit said this is for the sake of VIP treatment to one of the Minister of the State. The chief minister Naveen Pattanaik and the Speaker Maheswar Mohanty have made the administration responsible for such happening. It is due to lack of foresight of the administration that led to such an offending in the temple premise, said the Speaker Mr. Mohanty. The chief minister Naveen Pattanaik has condoled over the matter and announced Rs- 1 lakh to the dead people’s families and also to provide free hospitality to the injured people. He has appointed special tem for the investigation of the matter.

Shankaracharya favours temple at disputed site

BHUBANESWAR: (4/11) The Shankaracharya informed that he along with thousands of devotees would conduct a `parikrama' at the Rama Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya on November 30. He said, there is no confusion about the fact that Lord Rama took birth there

There should be, and there is, no restriction on entry of dalits into temples, Swami Swarupananda Saraswati, Shankaracharya of Dwaraka Peetha, said on Friday.

He, however, has reservations on persons belonging to other religions and foreigners entering the Hindu places of worship.

“Kahin bhi daliton ke liye prabesh nishedh nehin hai aur unhe roka nehi jaa raha hai,” the Shankaracharya told media persons here on Friday, when queried about a recent incident in Kendrapara where dalits were allegedly not allowed into a temple.

The seer said lakhs of devotees throng Sri Jagannath Temple at Puri but none is asked about his/her caste or status in the society. He, however, said that no one barring the priests who conduct rituals should be allowed into the sanctum sanctorum of the deity.

“Not even a Shankaracharya should be allowed into that restricted area. Beyond that point, a harijan has as much access as the Shankaracharya himself. So far as equality is concerned in temples, there is no controversy at all,” he said.

He, however, did not mince any word when it came to the issue of people from other religions, Buddhists and foreigners seeking entry into Jagannath Temple at Puri.

Not long ago, a Thai princess was denied entry into Puri temple triggering a debate on the issue.

Asked, if he endorsed the practice, he said, those who don't believe in Hinduism, have no business to be in the temples because the deities are not exhibits, the Dwaraka Shankaracharya said.

To a question if he considered Iskcon devotees Hindu, he shot back, saying “Ask them if they consider themselves Hindu.”

Stating that everyone is born Hindu, the seer was of the view that there should be a complete ban on conversion. Those who resort to conversion by luring people with jobs, health facilities and financial benefits, are causing harm to their own religion. It is ethically wrong and morally incorrect to take advantage of others, he said.

“However, if we don't go to the poor, downtrodden and tribals to help them, this problem can not be addressed,” he said.

Slamming indirectly the activities of the Christian missionaries, Jagadguru said Indian was the identity of Hindus and all should keep it in mind and work on it, he said adding unless and until, the Hindus were united against the evil designs of the missionaries, it was too difficult the retain the Hindu image and identity of the country.

"Saugandh Ram ki khate hain, Mandir wahin banayenge, Ram lala hum ayenge Mandir bhabya banayange," he told a Press meet here. "I have decided to parikrama the Ram Janmabhoomi site along with my disciples on November 30 and take stock of the situation,'' the Sankaracharya said.

Expressing deep concern over the increase in conversion by the missionaries, Jagadguru said no one should try to convert the poor and deprived sections of the society by convincing them or luring them with money and shelter.

Poor and Adivasis have been the most affected due to conversion. The Centre should ban the conversion programmes by the missionaries. The Shankaracharya of Jyoteepeeth and Dwarka, Swami Swaroopananda also said the BJP should stand by its commitment to build the Ram temple even if it meant losing power at the Centre.

"The temple should be built through a consensus and not through a movement for lack of public support could prove counterproductive," he pointed out. Criticising the demolition of the disputed structure on December 6, 1992, the Shankaracharya also came down heavily on the Congress for its recent public apology to the Muslims on the issue.

In his criticism of the December 6 incident he expressed regret that during the incident the 14 pillars of the structure, which were proof of it being a temple were also demolished along with the structure. Senior BJP leader LK Advani met me over the issue and suggested me to jointly carry the Ram Mandir movement, he said.

'Amritakirti' award to writer who defames Indian culture

-- by Dr. Indulata Das

'Amrita Kirti' is a prestigious award given for social reform and promotion of Indian culture by the organization of Mata Amritanadamayee. But it was quite painful to know that the award this year was given to. Dr. Pratibha Ray who has ruthlessly massacred Indian culture in her novel 'Yajnaseni'(originally written in Oriya and translated to Malayalam) mainly for which she got the award. It creates curiosity in the reader to know the truth and mystery behind the selection of such a person who has denigrated all the great and ideal characters of Mahabharata. A few examples will give an idea as to how the sublime characters have been pulled down to the nadir and how the writer left no stone unturned to blacken Indian culture.

1. Bhima, in the Mahabharata is known for his ardent love and sacrifice for his mother and brothers. Among the five husbands of Draupadi, he was perhaps the most dedicated one. But the same Bhima has been portrayed as an extremely selfish and intolerant person. He was so mean that he used to retain Draupadi in the pretext of pain in his stomach when she was supposed to stay with another husband. Bhima of' Yajnaseni'was so cruel that he would not mind killing all the Pandavas including Draupadi if the latter did not concede to his wishes (page-115 Yajnaseni (Oriya)).

2. Yudhisthira in the Mahabharata is the embodiment of righteousness who would sacrifice everything for upholding and establishing Dharma. But for Pratibha Ray he was an unscrupulous man who stood outside the hut and spoke loudly to his mother that they had brought unique alms that day. He knew it well that his mother would tell them to share whatever they had got. It was a heinous conspiracy of Y udhisthira to share the would be wife of his younger brother, whom he could not have otherwise got [page-59 Yajnaseni (Oriya)

3-. What to speak of the character of Draupadi ! Draupadi in the said book is almost a psychic patient who has no control over her mind. She is falling in love with someone today and is engrossed in some other's thought the other day. .

4.. India has a glorious tradition of dedicated women who venture to confront even the god of death to save their husbands. But see how Pratibha Ray has portrayed her Draupadi! When the Draupadi of Pratibha Ray heard that she was going to marry all the five brothers she was so upset that she wished to- see all of them dead and turn into ashes (page-6.8. Yajnaseni (Oriya). What a portrayal of an ideal Indian woman, who wants to see her would-be husbands die even before marriage!

5. It is a known fact that in the Mahabharata Draupadi herself denied marrying Kama during the Swayamvara (Mahabharata 1.86.22). But the Draupadi of Pratibha Ray is mad after Kama throughout her life. She was so infatuated with Kama that even if the latter called her' a prostitute' she was not angry with him but cursed her husbands instead.[page-153 Yajnaseni (Oriya)]. Draupadi of Pratibha Ray often expressed that Kama would have been her suitable husband [page-211 Yajnaseni (Oriya)]. She was engrossed in enjoying the embrace of Kama when the latter lifted her from water (a nasty imaginary scene created by the author to establish Draupadi' s illicit
weakness towards Kama) [page- 207, Yajnaseni (Oriya) Is it Indian culture that a married woman enjoys the embrace of another man? Why did Sita, even if a captive in Ravana's place refuse to go
with Hanuman when the latter requested her to sit on his back so that he would take her to Rama ? Why did she refuse to teach Hanuman's body who was nothing more than a son to-her? (Ramayana, Sundara.3-7.62)

6. Draupadi comes under the group of 'Sati' women for whom husband is God. Such women do have devotion towards God but they never think of seeing God as their husband or extramarital lover. Their love in the physical or mental plane is meant for their husband only. But Pratibha Ray portrays Srikrisna as an extramarital lover of Draupadi . It was not a evotion to God but a human love towards the mortal Krisna. She used to see Krisna in her husbands. There are many objectionable statements and descriptions about the relation of Draupadi with Krisna which goes against the story and the moral tradition of India. There is a nasty imaginary description that when once during his visit to Indraprastha Lord Krishna was sleeping on bed, Draupadi stood by the side of the bed the whole night [page-219 Yajnaseni (Oriya)]. Even a woman of common family would not do it.

It should not be argued that an author has the freedom of imagination and hence the depiction in the book under reference should not be criticized. It is true that an author has liberty of imagination. But that is meant to enhance the beauty of the ideal characters and not to disfigure them. Writer is free within the limits of truth and morality. He is not free to poison the minds of readers by writing untrue facts. Is an author while writing a stery about Ramayana, free to write that Sita was the wife of Ravana?

7. The book Yajnasenis full of untrue and immoral facts also. For example when in order to-avoid the great ensuing battle of Mahabharata Lord Krisna persuaded Kama to-leave the Kauravas and come to the side of Pandavas by disclosing that he was the eldest son of Kunti. Lord Krisna according to the writer of Yainaseni offered the crown of the would be kingdom along with the freedom to enjoy Drauvadi. [page-391 Yajnaseni (Oriya),. And surprisingly the same 'Draupadi of Pratibha Ray' who wanted to see her would-be husbands turn into. ashes at the very proposal of her marrying more than one husband did not have any reaction to this sinful and shameless proposal of Krisna that Kama shall have the freedom to enjoy the married woman Draupadi ! She obviously had no objection to this offer. One wonders to what extent the Indian culture has been denigrated and the minds of the readers poisoned.

Mahabharata has been conferred with the status of Dharmasastra. Are these contents of Yajnaseni the contents of a Dharmasastra or a Papasastra ? Is it Indian culture? If this is our culture then what about the advice to. see others' wife as mother (Matrivat Paradaresu). In the same Mahabharata during the teaching of Gita Lord Krisna vouchsafes that He descends to. the earth from time to time to establish Dharma: Dharma samsthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge (Gita 4.8) ls it the way the 'Krisna of Pratibha Ray' was establishing Dharma (by alluring Kama with the offer of enjoying Draupadi who was not only married but had five grown up sons by then)?

Can the organization which selected the author of this book for the award quote the slokas from the Mahabharata or give the references where Krisna gave such a sinful proposal to Kama?
The writer of Yajnaseni has not read Mahabhmat before writing the book and the selectors have not read the book Yajnaseni before selecting its writer for the award.

8. The book gives wrong .picture about our Sastras also. For example the writer on one occasion says that it is Ksatriya Dharma to enjoy a married lady by kidnapping her or by defeating her husband. It has the approval of the scriptures. [page-364.Yajnaseni (Oriya) Can the awarding organization (Amritanadamayee Ashram) please quote the Dharmasastra
which declares such a sin to be a 'Ksatriya Dharma'

9. In many places in the book there are derogatory remarks about ladies. In one place it is said that "It is natural for any woman to forget her husband and family and to be mad after a man who has great qualities" (page-12 Yajnaseni (Oriya)] Is it Indian culture?

10. In another place Pratibha Ray comments "Most women in the world have corrupt characters. Although they live with one man (their husband) mentally they romance with many others. Even if they physically sleep. with one yet they enjoy 'Suhag raat' (honey moon) with many more mentally"(page- 234, Yajnaseni (Oriya)].

After reading her statement about women, I felt Duhsasana had made an unsuccessful attempt to disrobe Draupadi , but, by giving such an assaulting statement the author of the book who is unfortunately a lady has disrobed the whole mother community on the cross road. Had these been the words of a male writer, he might have been proceeded against by the Women activists.

But ironically the writer of such an unholy statement which insulted the whole woman race got the 'Amritakirti' award from a holy organization that too headed by a woman.

Maoist fires National flag

Baripada, 01/11 (VISAKEO): After the incident in Malkanagiri, the Maoists are able to create terror in Chadheipahadi Panchayat of Gorumahishani police station situated in Orissa- Jharkhand border. We never oppose industry but want less interest of credit: BKS

Bhubaneswar, 31/10 (VISAKEO): The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Orissa has demanded the chief minister Mr. Naveen Pattanaik to publish his statement “ the economic zone will not be established in the agriculture land” in the form of advertisement through Government gazette. The Sangh has welcomed the CM’s statement but at the same time threatened the Govt not to use water in the industry and factories, which is meant for agriculture. Unless the Sangh will never pardon the Govt. we don’t oppose the industries but want a less interest of credit for the agriculture, said the Sangh.

The Sangh is not against the industrialization, which is the gateway of development, but we can’t build a construction on the back of farmer’s poverty and hunger, the Sangh added. For the construction and execution of companies and factories, they should create their own water source on the field and they should not use the water which is meant for the farming and agricultural process. The Sangh also demands to make tax-free on water and electricity for the poor farmers as other States do. But the State Govt considers the agriculture in the third category even it has not fulfilled the target of harvesting 20-lakh matric ton paddies per year. But the Govt and Banks are giving loan to the Industrialists 4% of interest where as the farmers are deprived of less interest. Further, the cold stores are not working properly and most of these are damaged, but the Govt is asleep, said the State General Secretary of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Prafulla Das and the organization Secretary Pradipta Kumar Rai.

Another name of Bank, Abuse

Bhubaneswar, 31/10 (VISAKEO): Now a day Banks are showing misbehavior to the people instead of giving proper service. Banks are meant for violating people’s dignity and rights and using slang words to the people. Although, loans and credit card systems are the backbone for the execution of any Bank, they don’t keep any legal documents from the customers and harassing other people with the help of abusive terms.

HDFC Bank comes on the top list doing such condemning business in the name of credit card in the State capital. Recently the credit card section of HDFC situated in Master Canteen Square, has dared to abuse a journalist. Apart from him, lots of gentlemen are becoming the victim receiving wrong calls from the Bank. Again for the better execution of this business, the Bank has appointed a lady staff to which no one can give feedback to her misbehavior over the phone. The source said for last 6 months he has been receiving the wrong calls from HDFC Bank credit card section, where he has no dealings at all. In spite of telling her my identity, that lady staff continued her business non-stop, said one of the victim who is residing here over 30 years. This is a new plan of the Bank to defame people and the family members not receiving authentic documents from the customers and violates other’s dignity. Who has been involved in such kind of deeds but surely according to the consent of the Branch Manager and vice versa? On the other hand, such activity may hamper the reputation of other national and international Banks who are dealing in credit cards.
