Rashtra Sevika Samiti calls for Boycott of Chinese Goods

New Delhi. Rashtra Sevika Samiti Medhavini Sindhu Srijan (Prabuddha Varga) Organised a seminar on boycott of Chinese goods. The seminar was organized at Kirori Mal College Auditorium. Dr. Ashwani Mahajan of Swadeshi Jagran Manch was the main speaker and Rajkumar Bhatia former President of National teachers Democratic Front, Kiran Chopra, Director Punjab Kesari group, Sunita Bhatia Prant Karyavahika of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti also addressed the gathering.
Ashwani Mahajan Ji said that China was a powerful country and was trying to establish its hegemony all around. Chinese trade with India is continuously on an increase and China would be ill advised to even think of war in such a situation. It is due to this that Indian Defence Minister Arun Jaitley has asserted that India of today is different from India of 1962. China opposes India in almost every sphere be it issue of a terrorist like Masood Azhar or India’s entry into the NSG.
Swadeshi Jagran Manch had made a call for boycott of Chinese goods during last Diwali which led to a fall in sale of Chinese goods by about 50%. About 97 lakh Indians had signed a resolution for this boycott and the Manch seeks to raise this figure to 2.5 crore to make a significant impact. Initially while the US, Europe and Japan had signed free trade agreement but China had kept out. Now it wants to control the entire world market through WTO and it has started giving subsidies to its industries to sell cheaper goods to establish such control. India has imposed anti-dumping duty on 133 Chinese products.
Raj kumar Bhatia Ji said that India should become a closed economy to keep its industry alive. Even costlier Indian good should be given a preference over the cheaper Chinese goods in national interest.
Kiran Chopra said that no mission could be completed without women. Women represent new India and had promoted Indian goods by using mauli during the Raksha Bandhan. Intellectual women of the Medhavini Mandal should logically explain to the college students why Chinese good should be boycotted and how it can strengthen India.
Sunita Bhatia Ji Karyavahika of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti briefed audience about the history and activities of the Samiti. Rashtra sevika Samiti is an 80 year old organisation established by Lakshmi Bai Kelkar in 1936 in Nagpur. The Samiti has been working for gender equality and physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual growth of women and also aims at maximizing their contribution for the family and the country.
Dr. Nisha Rana Ji conducted the program which was attended by about 100 college lecturers and women lawyers

Delhi will plant one million trees in 07 days

New Delhi (IVSK). Delhi will plant 1 million trees with the help of citizens, RWA, local bodies, trade associations, security forces etc. Delhi Prant of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is also providing assistance in this noble cause from August 15 to 22 by mobilising the public. This was announced at a press conference today by Bharat Bhushan Ji, Delhi Prant Karyavah of RSS.
“Our aim is that the citizens of Delhi not only plant one million trees in this week but they also ensure that the planted trees are looked after properly. We will encourage and involve social organisations at the local level, local civic bodies, security forces and other organisations in this programme,” said Bharat Bhushan.
He further added that those trees which are suitable for Delhi’s climate would be planted during this period. Around 65 such species have been identified which include Peepal, Neem, Jamun, Baniyan, Mango, Amla, Arjun etc. These trees will be planted across the city.
“We have often seen that after planting the trees they are just left in the lurch. So we have decided to that under this programme there would be a guardian for every tree who would ensure that the tree gets regular water and is looked after. At the local level environment committees comprising local residents would be set up who would monitor the upkeep of planted trees,” he said.
“We are confident that in three to four years time when these trees would grow up, they would play an instrumental role in checking Delhi’s pollution and the growing average temperature of the city. This would result in improvement in the quality of life of the Delhi residents and they will get permanently benefitted,” he added.
He emphaised that the RSS is largely playing the role of a Convener. “Our aim is get as many people from the society involved in this programme so that not only they become more aware about the need for environment protection but they also become a stakeholder .”
