RSS gears up the service in flood-hit districts

Bhubaneswar , September 02, 2006 (VISAKEO): RSS has come forward to the service of the people during flood in the state. The Sangh workers have been engaged in supplying foods, medicines, clothes, and cattle feed to the affected people in Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Nayagarh, Khurda, and Jajpur districts. On behalf of RSS a group of doctors have visited the flood areas in Orissa.

RSS has commenced a visit with 8 ambulances, many medical professionals, and hundreds of volunteers to the flood-hit people from Utkal Biparnna Sahayata Samiti (UBSS) office premise. Khurda Collector Mr. K.C Mohapatra has inaugurated the visit showing a flag. On the inauguration ceremony RSS members Gopal Prasad Mohapatra, Jagdhish Prasad Khadanga, Saroj Kumar Kar,Bhubaneswar Deputy Mayor Urmilla Mohapatra and UBSS Chairman Avay Pati were present and encouraged the volunteers for the operation.

Report says that due to crack in the Luna embankment on last night at Mahar Bank, Kendrapada is the worst hit area in the State. Thousands of people are under the floodwater and striving for the primary requirements. The Sangh workers have been engaged in the rescue operation and supplying of foods and medicines bringing the victim to the NH-5, said Viswa Sambad Kendra Orissa Editor Mr. Sumant Panda. The Sangh workers are doing their best for the people service in the villages including Bharatpur, Barada, Karada, Syamsunderpur, Baspur of Derabish Block, Angulai, Kuhudi, Silipur, Manikuda, Marshghai of Mahakalapada Block, opined Mr. Panda. He said, RSS has provided 16 teams; one team contains more than 20 volunteers, who are working under one district head. In the same time the Sangh has recruited some Supervisors for gearing up the job properly in the entire coastal districts, the name includes Golakh Chandra Behera in Kendrapada, Bijoy Kumar Nayak in Jagatsinghpur, Sushant Kumar Parida in Puri, Kulamani Tarai in Cuttack, Bhagawan Sahoo in Nayagarh, Sarat Chandra Sen in Khurda, and Ramesh Chandra Patra in Jajpur, further Mr. Panda added.
