Peace formula to be presented to SC after approval of Islamic bodies

Faizabad, December 04,

One of the main litigants in Ayodhya title suits case Hashim Ansari on Saturday said the formula for a peaceful solution to the vexed issue would be presented before the Supreme Court only after being approved by top Islamic institutions and concerned parties. The formula will be put forth before the apex court after getting it approved by all related parties and top Islamic institutions by the end of this month, Ansari said after discussing the issue with Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind leader Captain Afzal Ahmad Khan at the latter's residence here.

"I have discussed all points with Captain Afzal about the formula for a peaceful solution of Ayodhya issue. Both of us will further discuss it with top Islamic institutions like Darul Uloom Deoband, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, Jamat-e-Islami, Sunni Central Waqf Board and other Muslim parties and litigants related with Babri Masjid case," Ansari said.

Mahant Gyan Das, who is also one of the main litigants in the case seeking a peaceful solution to the issue, said he is also not in favour of the formula being presented to the Supreme Court before being accepted by all litigants in the case.

Das and Ansari had told reporters on Friday that they had worked out a formula and would present it to the Supreme Court to resolve the vexed issue.

They had said they would wait for all the petitioners in the case to reach the apex court for challenging Allahabad High Court judgement as decided by them and there they would present the formula worked out by them in a written form.

Ansari and Das, who had earlier announced that they would make the formula public by December 10, today said they were not in favour of making it public.

Accusing the 'outsiders', including the VHP of conspiring to abort the negotiations for an amicable solution to the dispute Das said, "The VHP will be interested in raising the temperature like it did in 1989, they just want to fool people by talking of Ram Lalla."
