Bhubaneswar, 06/11/08 (VISAKEO): Violence and agitation has stroke the Kandhamal district once again after killing of one Hindu man near Kumbahri Gaon square of Brahmoni Gaon plice station area in Daringbadi block. The victim is allegedly gunned down by the Christian community in the broad day light heinously belonged to the RSS who was said to be threatened by the Christian militants few days ago. After the slain of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati tension has been fired again in the minds of the Hindu community and the administration seems to colour the incident as an action of Maoists.

Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh backed Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram on Wednesday alleged that Christian militants have killed one 40-year-old Dhanu Pradhan of Kumbahrigaon. Ridiculing police reports, which say, Maoists gun down Pradhan, daily wager, Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram State Secretary Laxmikant Dash added that three Christian people belonging to Katingia village have killed Pradhan. The Christian militants had triggered 12 round bullets on the head, stomach and chest of the victim. Dhanu belongs to village Jingiraguda and his brother is a Samiti member. Pradhan along with other workers were engaged in a construction of School since early morning, when the workers left for lunch, the church militants fired at Pradhan and killed him, Dash added. He further alleged that despite information, police reached the spot two hours after the incident. The area is Hindu minority, so the church people are taking advantage of it, he added. We would give befitting reply to them if the police did not take proper action.

On behalf of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati Shradhanjali Samiti a memorandum will be forwarded to the Prime Minister and the President of India regarding the torture and humiliation charged on the Hindu community by the so called minority people in the name of religion and the Samiti announced to stage dharna on tomorrow in all the districts of the country and questions the safety and protection of Hindu community.
