Bhubaneswar:(visakeo),15/11- Swami Laxmananda Saraswati Sradhanjali Samiti, which held a massive Sradhanjali Sabha here at PMG Square, warned for Orissa Bandh on December 25 if the State Government failed to arrest the killers and conspirators of the Hindu saint by December 15. The Samiti also demanded highest civilian award for the late Seer and asked the Government to stop arrest of innocent Kandh tribals.
Speakers paid homage to late Swami Laxmananda Saraswati and vowed to fight against conversion and cow slaughtering. It may be noted here that Swamiji and his four followers who were killed by unidentified attackers Aug 23 in an ashram in Orissa’s Kandhamal district.
The rally attended by seers from across the State and outside, was held with the permission of the State Government despite the Centre's warning against such gathering. Saffron flags were seen fluttering in many parts of the city as Hindu activists raised slogans against the government for failing to arrest the people involved in the brutal murder.
Speakers, who addressed the huge gathering, also alleged that the Orissa Chief Minister is working under pressure from both church and the Congress led UPA Government at the Centre in dealing with the Kandhamal violence. They held Congress Rajya Sabha member Radhakant Nayak as key conspirator behind the murder and alleged that the Congress chief Sonia Gandhi is giving safe shelter to MP Nayak.
The speakers also urged the State Government to take action against those are violating court orders and law of the land, police and administration. Referring to allegations that Christmas last year was dampened by violence by saffron outfits, they said, “Let there be a state-wide bandh this time on December 25 to ensure a completely peaceful Christmas,”
“We have deployed 50 platoons of security forces including few companies of Central Reserve Police Force and Rapid Action Force. The Sradhanjali Sabha passes off peacefully with reports no untoward incident in the State Capital,” Commissioner of Police BK Sharma said.
Samiti president Dr Ratnakar Chaini presided over the Sabha. Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram national president Jagdeo Ram Oram, RSS Central Committee senior member Indresh Kumar, Mahanta Dr Ramvilash Vedanti of Ram Janmabhoomi Movement, national president, national coordinator of Hindu Jagaran Samukhya Harihar Nanda, Swami Pranarupanandaji, Swami Jeevan Chaitnyaji, BJP National vice-president Jual Oram, State president Suresh Pujari, BMS national organizing secretary KC Mishra, BKS national organsing secretary Mohini Mohan Mishra, HJS State president Ashok Sahu, VHP State general secretary Gouri Prasad Rath, RSS Pranta Pracharak Jagadish P Khadanga, Saha Khetra Pracharak Ajit Prasad Mohapatra, Dr Indulata Das and Bhagirathi Mahasuar, were among those attended the meet.
