Yellow journalism a major threat to spirit of nationalism

Bhubaneswar: (विसकेओ)Yellow journalism is being practiced by several media houses have posed a major threat to spirit of nationalism, speakers while attending a readership meet of Rashtradeepa, nationalistic Oriya weekly here at Institute of Engineers on February 2। Speakers came down heavily on yellow journalist, who were misled people of the country as well as abrod over the recent Kandhamal ethnic violence that engulfed following the brutal murder of Hindu seer Swami Laxmananda Saraswati and four of his disciples at his Jalespata Ashram on August 23, last year। Journalistic ethics should be maintained, added seasoned columnist Barendrakrusha Dhal while joining as Chief guest of the occasion। Noted journalist and Chairman New Delhi based SP Mukharjee Research Foundation, Tarun Vijay said that the spirit of nationalism could only overcome all difficulties. The former Editor of the Panchajanya, the mouthpiece of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh urged media people to play a pivotal role in national building with out any bias. Editor Rashtradeepa Jagabandhu Mishra presided over the meet while GC Jena given vote of thanks. RSS Pranta Pracharak Jagadish Prasad Katanga, Pranta Karyabaha Gopal Mohapatra, secretary Viswa Sambad Kendra, Sumanta Kumar Panda and RN Panda were among those present.
