Narad Sanmman-2014 goes to Jagabandhu Mishra
BHUBANESWAR: Editor of Odia weekly Rashtradeep, Jagabandhu Mishra will receive the Narad Sanmman-2014, instituted by Viswa Sambad Kendra, a multi-lingual news agency  here at a function on Thursday.

Born on 18 July, 1950 in the village of Mahanga, he completed his graduation in science in 1970 from Chriest College Cuttack. He did his Ratna in Hindi in 1972 from RPS, Wardha. He completed his M.A. in Odiya in 1998 from Utkal University and PGDJMC in 2002 from IGNOU. He joined in RSS in 1967 and worked there as a Pracharak for seven years from 1970 to 1977.

He was also detained under MISA during emergency period 1975-1977.He is being working as Editor of the famous Odiya nationalistic weekly “RASTRADEEP” since 1986.He is also  at present  a member of executive body of All India News Paper editors’ conference, a member of Indian Language News papers’ Association and founder Vice President of Natioal Editor’s Council.

He has also received “Nachiketa” award in 2004 from the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpeyee sponsored by the famous Hindi weekly ‘Panchajanya’.

The function will be held at IDCOL auditorium here. Raghunath Pati, the president of Viswa Sambad Kendra,Odisha will preside over the meeting .Gopal Nanda, former DGP joined as Chief Guest and Bipin Bihari Nanda, Pranta Sanghachalak of RSS addressed as Chief Speaker. Mishra  honoured  with a memento and Sal along with a cash award of Ten thousand rupees.

Sumanta Kumar Panda will co-ordinate the function, Gyanendra kumar Nayak read the memento and Haribandhu Praharaj offered vote of thanks. Niranjan Nayak, secretary of Kendra submitted annual report.

The function was arranged on the eve of birth day of Debarshi Narad and award is being conferred to an eminent personality since 12 years who has made significant contribution in the field of positive journalism.
