Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) through a resolution passed

NAGPUR, Mar 17:

Expressing strong reservations about vested interested taking advantage of the movements launched in various parts of the country to voice the genuine grievances of the people for vitiating the atmosphere of social harmony, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) through a resolution passed on Saturday appealed to the leaders and participating people in such movements to never lose sight of the greater unity and integrity of the Indian society.

Briefing mediapersons at Reshambag premises on the second day of the on-going three-day Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha of RSS Dr Bhagawati Prakash, National Co-convener of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch and Chittore Prant Sanghchalak gave information about the resolution passed unanimously at the meeting on Saturday.

Dre Prakash, who is also pro-Vice-Chancellor of Udaipur University, said that the RSS has serious doubts about the real intentions of such movements being launched in different areas of the country. Agreeing that the people in various areas of the country might have 'genuine grievances and complaints' which give rise to such movements and agitations, the possibility of such opportunities being used to divide the country by vested interests and anti-India forces to fulfill their objectives of weakening the country.

The RSS appealed to all such leaders leading such movements and agitations to refrain from saying or doing anything which would endanger the social fabric and weaken our national bonds.

The resolution also expressed grave concern over the attempts of the government to divide the society by introducing issues like Communal and Targeted Violence Bill and minority reservations. "Such issues are bound to trigger discord and disunity among various sections of the society. Such policies of the government should be rejected by the entire nation, the resolution exhorted.

The ABPS underlined that the national policy should be guided not by any short-term goals but by the principle of One Contry-One People.Besides appealing the media and NGOs to play a very constructive role in providing right direction to such movements and agitations.

RSS Prachar Pramukh Dr Manmohan Vaidya was also present at the briefing. The ABPS is expected to adopt another resolution on water sharing and people's right over the natural resources tomorrow. The discussions on this resolution are currently going on, Dr Bhagwati Prakash informed.
