Rashtriya swayamsevak Sangha odisha first pranta Sanghchalk Basu passes awau






Bhubaneswar,20/4-Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangha (RSS) Odisha first Pranta Sanghchalak and senior advocate Bhupendra Kumar Basu passed away at his residence in Cuttack on Wednesday morning. He was 103.
The RSS activities had begun in Odisha under Basu’s leadership. He was also associated with many other institutions like the Vishva Hindu Parishad. His death was mourned by the RSS leaders, lawyers and local residents in Cuttack. RSS Pranta Sanghachalak (Purva Odisha) Samir Kumar Mohanty also mourned the death of Basu and expressed his condolence to his family members.
The BJP State unit also mourned the death of the RSS leader. Party State president Basanta Panda, State secretary (organisation) Sarada Prasad Satpathy, national secretary Suresh Pujari, national general secretary Arun Singh and national joint general secretary (organisation) Soudan Singh, who are on a visit to the State, Minister Jual Oram and Dharmendra Pradahan and senior leaders Biswabhusan Harichandan, KV Singh Deo, Bijay Mohapatra, Manmohan Samal and Pratap Sadangi expressed their deep condolence for Basu’s death.

-                  Passed Matriculation in the year   1928     from Ravenshaw Collegiate School. Prosecuted further study and passed B.Sc. from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack which was then under the Patna University. Passed Bachelor of Law from M.S. Law College, Cuttack.
                             He started practice and enrolled as a Pleader and Member of Cuttack Court Bar Association in the year 1936. Enrolled as an advocate bearing No 22/1949 and joined as a member Orissa High Court Bar Association on 13/09/1963.
 He practised in all branches of law and expertise in Civil and Tenancy Laws of Orissa. He has conducted so many cases free of cost giving legal aid to the weaker sections of the society.  He became Public Prosecutor and Govt. Pleader for the undivided Cuttack district in the year 1978. While proceeding to Bhubaneswar in a case in the year 1978, he met with an accident and lost his right leg above the knee but he lead the normal life as usual and continued his practice as a Lawyer without being slightly depressed. Mr. Basu used to conduct the cases with utmost sincerity and devotion and he is always acceptable to the needy poor persons who are unable to make huge legal expenses in the Court of law.
Sri Bhupendra Kumar Basu was the classmate of Sri Biswanath Pasayat  late father of Hon’ble Justice Dr. Arajit Pasayat and virtually they are the residents of nearby villages under Allando Gram Panchayat in the district of Jagatsinghpur.
Sri Basu was initiated in “Kriya Yoga” by her holiness “Sadhumaa” at Puri in the year 1960 and he sincerely practices “Kriya Yoga” throughout.
-                  He formed “Prabhudha Yubak Sangha” and organised the youth, in his early days in the district of Jagatsinghpur for undertaking various social works. Apart from practice, he involved in various socio cultural activities and founded so many organisations/institutions which are functioning with dedicated selfless services in the State of Odisha. He is founder of “Panchasakha Bani Prachar Mandali”, “Bharatiya Sanskruti Prachar Samiti”, “Utkal Bippanna Sahayata Samiti”, “Manaba Seba Pratisthan” which are functioning for cultural and educational activities in the State. He has donated his own land and established two Oriya Medium High Schools in village where more than thousands of rural based children are being given better education. He formed “Mahatma Gandhi Study Circle” for awakening civil rights within the people and formed “Netajee Subash Chandra Bose Trust” for imparting vocational study and necessary training for earning livelihood of the children of rural based people. He established two “Short Stay Home” during Super Cyclone in the year 1999 for giving shelter to the victims of the natural calamities in the district of Jagatsinghpur. He protested the emergency in the year 1975 and imprisoned for near about two years.
-                  He has already completed 104 years of age at the time of death. Late B K Basu also establish Sikhya Vikash Samiti under which number of Saraswati Sishu Mandir is function through out the state of Odisha. Late Basu also founder of Utkal Bipanna Sahayata Samiti an organisation completely meant for people at the time of natural calamity. He is also founder of  weekly news pepar namely The Rastradeep which was put under lock and key during the period of emergency and opened by virtue of the Order of this Hon’ble court due to sheer dint of  argument of Mr. Basu . Mr. Basu breath his last on 20/04/2016 (Wednesday) at his residence at 3.05
am.
Late Basu have blessed with four sons and two daughters out of whom one Dr. Ajit Kumar Bose, a surgery specialist, and another son  Sri Anup Kumar Bose, presently appointed as  Assistant Solicitor General of India, his one of the son Asit Kumar Bose  ex-principal Christ College, Cuttack expired in 2011, so also another son Amrit Kumar Bose was an advocate have also expired prematurely
