ROOT OUT ANTI-NAT’L ACTIVISM FROM CAMPUSES: ABVP

Bhubaneswar,22/4-Expressing concern over anti-national activities in various universities and other educational institutions across the country, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Odisha unit here on Thursday called upon all students to root out anti-national activism from the campuses.
Citing examples of student power, ABVP national media convener Saket Bahuguna said the student community of the Hyderabad Central University foiled a conspiracy to divide them into Dalit and non-Dalit groups after the death of Rohith Vemula.
Similarly students, faculties and authorities of the JNU University strongly opposed observance of the death anniversary of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru as a martyr’s day. Moreover, the students and intellectuals communities across the country have fought against the conspiracy to make the NIT Srinagar as a hub for anti-national activities by triggering clash between the Kashmir and non-Kashmir students.
“Universities and other educational institutions are the centres of learning, character building and nation building for the students. If these aspects are developed, the country will become powerful in coming days. For this, the ABVP is undertaking a ‘Nation First’ drive across the country,” he added.
Among others, ABVP State secretary Abhinash Panda and national executive members Bailochan Sahu and Sushri Ipsita Harichandan were present.
