VHP plans silent protest on Aug 13

BHUBANESWAR, Aug 8:(visakeo)- The Viswa Hindu Parishad would host two ‘silent protests’ meetings here in State Capital and in riot hit Kandhamal district on August 13 to mark the sacrifice day in memory of late Swami Laxmananda Saraswati.

VHP would host these two meetings, besides hosting prayer meetings at Jalespata Ashram, where the Seer and his followers were shot dead on August 23, 2008 and Chakapada, where his body was cremated.

“We would host seven-day long activities to mark the Sacrifice Day,” VHP State general secretary Gouri Prasad Rath said on Saturday. Rath came down heavily on State Government for its failure to nab the real killers and conspirators behind the murder case.

“It was shocking and unfortunate that one year after the brutal murder, police officials till clueless while Government favouring one community for vote bank politics,” he added.
