RSP demands to include Sanskrit under MIL

Bhubaneswar: State unit of Rashtrabadi Sikhayaka Parishad on Tuesday demanded to include the Sanskrit language under the Mother Language of India (MIL) category. Parishad stated in a memorandum to the Higher Education Minister Samir Dey that language like Oriya, Hindi, Bengali and Telgu, the State Government should include Sanskrit as a subject under MIL from School to University level. Parishad demanded promotion of Sanskrit teachers and regularization of jobs, those working since 1998 and grant in aids to Colleges. Parishad demanded grant in aids for all the 47 existing Sanskrit Colleges of the State. Prafula Kumar Mishra, Gopal Prasad Mohapatra, Khitish Bhusan Das, Mahendra Kumar Mohanty and Sarat Chandra Kar were among those in the delegation that discussed the issue with Minister Dey.
