Bubaneswar, 05/01(VISAKEO): Orissa's popular news feature fortnight tabloid The Shatabdi has celebrated its seventh birth anniversary here today at Idcol Auditorium in the evening. Being present as the chief guest Sri Viswa Bhusan Harichandan, the State minister of Industry, Law and Rural development had honoured the "Shatabdi Samman" to the feminist Annapurna Maharana for the year 2005 and the eminent Smajbadi party leader as well as the former Loksabha Speaker Sri Ravi Rai for the year 2006. He also presented the "Shatabdi Gaurav" award to the captain of Indian female Football team Sradhanjali Samantarai for the year 2005 and the sportswoman Smt. Anuradha Biswal for the year 2006.
Under the chairmanship of the columnist Sri Jagdish Prasad Dash, the spokesperson Pro. Ganeswar Mishra who is the present chairman of Orissa Sahitya Acadamy delivered few words regarding the news tabloid. Having invited as the guest of honour Sri Devi Prasad Mishra, the state excise and tourism minister; Sri Debashish Nayak, the State information and public relation minister; Sri Damodar Rout, the MLA and the IAS as well as the the commissioner and the secretary of I&PR department Sri Digambar Mohanty were present in the function.
