By Golak Chandra Das
BHUBANESWAR: Swami Laxmananda Saraswati Sradhanjali Samiti on Tuesday reiterated its Orissa Bandh call slated for December 25. The Samiti would ahead with its earlier announcement as the State Government has completely faild in nabbing the killers and conspirators behind the killing of Swamiji and four of his disciples, who were shot dead at Jalespata Ashram in Kandhamal district on August 23 this year.
Samiti came down heavily on Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for its pro-Church attitude and warned him with dire consequence as the anger of tribal Kandhs are reaching at its climax. “ We had earlier set a date line of December 15 while State Government failed to nab the killers and conspirators. So, we have decided to go ahead with the Bandh call,” Samiti president Dr Ratnakar Chaini while addressing a Press Conference said. He ridiculed the secular credentials of Orissa Chief Minister. VHP State general secretary Gouri Prasad Rath and Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram’s Dr Laxmikant Dash were among those present in the press meet.
“The State Government after to failing to meet the date line has arrested few people a day before the date line, which we perceived as an eyewash,” he lambasted. He further said that the Chief Minister is under tremendous pressure from Church as well as Congress led UPA establishment in National Capital. For which, four months after the brutal murder of Swamiji, the real killers and conspirators are continue to evading the investigating officials.
“We strongly feel that the State Government did nothing to reach out to the killers,” Dr Chaini added. He further added that the Bandh would be observe from 6 in the morning till 6 in the evening while from 5.30 to 5.40, people across Orissa would ring bells to alert the State Government, which is in deep slumber.
Dr Chaini appealed to people of the State to observe a peaceful Bandh on December 25. He made it clear that unless and until, the killers and conspirators nabbed, Samiti would continue its protest. He also alleged that the State Governmnet have so far arrested more than 800 Hindus in connection with the communal violence while it has only nab seven persons in connection with the murder case.
