The Pratistha Divas (foundation day) and the Bijaya Dasami Utsav
of the Nuapada RSS district unit were held here on Monday.
Hundreds of volunteers from different parts of the district were
present with ‘Gana Besa’ (brown-colour trousers and white shirts. The
observation began with a parade of the Swaym Sevaks at Nuapada town, which was
greeted by women and men with flowers.
Later, a meeting was held at the Sisu Vidya Mandir where the
importance of the foundation day was discussed. The speakers were Nuapada RSS
district president Pustam Sunani and secretary Ratnakar Sahu, Balangir RSS unit
president Dambrudhar Karmi and Prof Padhi of History department of National
College, Nuapada.
“Adoption of a new dress this year has prompted a lot of questions
among the critics, but the identity of a Swayam Sevak is not in the dress that
he wears but in the work he does ans the contributions he makes for the
country,” said chief speaker Karmi.
Nuapada MLA and BJP State president Basant Panda, BJD district
president Prasanna Padhi, Sanjay Tiwari, Sanjjan Agrawal, Biranchi Panigrahi,
Satyanarayan Agrawal, Kamtaprasad Chandrakar were also present.
