Violence re-strikes in Kantamala; 23 arrested

Bhubaneswar, 13/10/08 (VISAKEO): Again violence has stroke in Kantamala that burnt down homes of the Hindu Harizan families on the eve of Mahanavamee of Durga puja night. The tragedy has made other Hindu people of that block panic and fear that they are bound to flee from their homes ultimately and seek refuge in the dense forest. Such incident has brought into action from 27th September till date where only Hindu reserved class people are getting victim of the violence after the murder of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati.

Source said, around 25-30 people spread terror by fire crackers on that night of Tendokhuti village, then drove out the Hindu families and set the fire on their homes in front of them. The victimized people ran towards the forest to save their lives that made the criminal giants to kill brutally the domestic animals such cows, goats, sheep and looted the precious articles along with money. The victims and the ward member of that village have alleged the Christian people doing such inhuman action on the basis of grudge and vendetta on the matter of Swamiji’s murder aftermath. The victims have taken the shelter under the State administration. The police have arrested 23 people and two Christian accused Durjan Malik and Ramesh Malik of Kandapali and Lendalimala village respectively. The district collector Mohan Prasad Mishra and police SP Vishnu Prasad Padhi had reached at that village for the observation and consoled the losers to do the best for them on behalf of the government. But the out of fear and uncertain situation many Hindu people are fleeing to the forest to be exempted from the panic situation aroused by the Christian missionaries.
