Congress hand suspected behind BJD-BJP split: Sushma Swaraj

Bhubaneswar, Mar 16 (PTI) Giving a new twist to the collapse of BJD-BJP alliance in Orissa, BJP today said it suspected a Congress role in effecting the break.
"Yes I do see a Congress hand behind it (breaking BJD-BJP alliance). They might have played a role," BJP leader Sushma Swaraj told reporters after launching the party's poll campaign at a rally here.

"It is proved by the fact that Naveen Patnaik-led BJD is now entering into alliances with UPA partners like NCP and JMM," she said, adding the Third Front was only a channel to finally join hands with Congress.

Rejecting the Third Front as a "non-starter", Swaraj said its shape was "unclear" while the question of leadership also remained "hazy".

She said UPA stood "Unlimited Prime Ministers' Alliance" in view of so many aspirants for the top post.

"On the other hand, BJP stalwart L K Advani happens to be the only prime ministerial candidate of NDA and his candidature has been endorsed by other partners," she said.

Swaraj dismissed the question of differences between BJP president Rajnath Singh and party poll strategist Arun Jaitley. PTI
