Second IED found near Lilongbridge in five days, detonated safely
IMPHAL, (visakeo): One improvised explosive device (IED) was found near Lilong Bridge at around 7 am today.
The bomb was discovered by a patrol party of 28 Assam Rifles and it was safely detonated at the spot by a team of bomb experts of Manipur Police and personnel of 28 Assam Rifles.
It may be mentioned that one such IED was found near Lilong Bridge on August 13. No organization has so far claimed responsibility for the bomb.
In another incident, some unidentified persons hurled a Chinese hand grenade at the residence of a political aspirant identified as MongjamPoireihanba of YorbungMamangLeikai today morning.
A team of Lamlai police retrieved the grenade and disposed it safely at ITI Loukol at around 6 am today.
In another incident yesterday, one Chinese hand grenade exploded at the residence of one businessman MaisnamShamu of NaranSena under Moirang police station at around 8:30 pm. However, there was no report of any casualty from the explosion.
