Rashtra Sevika Samiti demands moral education at primary level

$img_titleNew Delhi, January 22, 2013 : On 16thJanuary 2013, a delegation of Rashtra Sevika Samiti lead by Smt. Pramilatai Medhe, organising secretary, Smt. Asha Sharma, joint secretary, Smt. Radha Mehta, in charge, Delhi, Smt. Jyotika Kalra and Dr. Vijay Aggarwal, office bearers along with leader of opposition Smt. Sushma Swaraj met Hon’ble President of India, Pranab Mukharjee at Rashtrapati Bhawan. Being disturbed by the recent incidents in the capital of Bharat, Rashtra Sevika Samiti, a nationwide cultural organisation was keen to contribute for the safety and security of women in the country.
Smt. Pramilatai Medhe handed over the representation of Samiti to the Hon’ble President. Pramilatai Medhe shared her experience that at times the safety of women is threatened due to interference by the mighty persons. Rashtrapati ji ensured that his office would see to it that Administration is allowed to work fearlessly. Rashatrapati ji also referred to certain proposed amendments in Evidence Act so that the victim of sexual assault is not re-victimised during cross examination. Rashatrapati ji appreciated the recommendations suggested by Rashtra Sevika Samiti particularly the idea of introducing moral education right at the primary level of education.

This Smadhi is in a much depleted condition, it should be renovated. The place where she breathed her last i.e. Royvilla, West Bengal  should also be declared as a monument of national importance. One Bengali film on the life of Bahgini Nivedita should be translated in Hindi and English. Rashatrapati ji  assured that needful would be in the honour of Bahgini Nivedita, the great revolutionist of the County .
