VISWA SAMBAD KENDRA DEMONSTRATES SILENT PROTEST

VISWA SAMBAD KENDRA DEMONSTRATES SILENT PROTEST

Bhubaneswar,17/1:-Some antisocial elements have assaulted the statue of  “Utkalmani Gopabandhu” inside an office of daily news paper “The Samaj” and have ransacked  some of it’s offices at different places due to some news published in it’s edition on 14th January. It is informed that the above offices have been succumbed to a lot of damage due to this heinous act. By  watching this we feel that ,we are going away from a modern civilised society , because this act is equivalent to a barbaric attack of medival age. Such attack on fourth  pillar will arrest the voice of democracy. Utkalmani Gopabandhu is the pride of all Odiya people. This disregard to his statue is an attack on the pride of Odisha.

Viswa Sambad Kendra is strongly condemning  this heinous act. As it follows the foot-steps of Debarshi Narad it always commits to save the fourth pillar of democracy. For which  it has arranged  a silent protest  on 17th January at 11AM  at Lower PMG, Bhubaneswar. Two hundred intellectuals and social activists under the leadership of it’s president Sri Rghunath Pati  have demonstrated a silent protest having black ribbon on the mouth and also with placard in their hands.
Viswa Sambad Kendra demands that after a thorough enquiry all the criminals involved should be arrested  and put before the court of law for examplary punishment. The concerned journalist who is arrested should be immediately released. The losses suffered by the news paper “The Samaj” should be assesed and properly compensated.
