Festival to revitalize the dying art forms from Dec 6
Bhubaneswar: Following a MoU signed between the Regional College of Management and the Department of Culture, the city will host a two-day unique festival on the dying art and traditions of Orissa on December 6 and 7 at the Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya auditorium. As per the department's directive, the Orissa Sangeet Nataka Akademi has identified several dying arts forms which will be promoted as per the MoU. The list includes the Chhau dance of Nilgiri, Dhumpa of Digapahandi, Ghuduki of Ganjam, Sabda Swar Pata of Sambalpur and Harikatha of Ganjam. As per the agreement, the Akademi would host the two-day festival of the dying arts traditions of Orissa on Thursday and Friday evenings showcasing Harikatha, Tumpa, Sabda Swar Pata and Ghuduki.
