Viswa Hindu Parisad calls 'Orissa bandh' on 25th December

Bhubaneswar (Visakeo): Opposing on the attack on Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati, Viswa Hindu Parisad called a statewide bandh on 25th December. The bandh will survive from 8am to 12am. The anti Hindu feeling in the Kandhamal district was strongly reacted by Vanabasi Kalyan Ashram, Hindu Jagaran Samukhya and other organization of the state. Viswa Hindu Parisad urged a huge participation from the people to make the bandh successful. Briefing the press, the General Secretary of Viswa Hindu Parisad, Sri Gouri Prasad Ratha said that in Kashingbadi about 500 people of Christian community suddenly attacked the vehicle in which Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati was traveling with. Also Laxmanananda Saraswati got severely affected due to the attack. Not only the people of the Christian community showed aggression on the vehicle by throwing metals and stones but also attacked the Swamiji with sharp weapons. "It is a very shameful incident", he added. Ratha narrated the incident as a preplanned conspiracy. He also charged the Christian community by saying the incident as a communal violence. He also said that the Christian community is trying to suppress the Hindus and in a plan to spread the Christianity in the locality and the arrival of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati made hurdles in their planning. Sri Ratha also blamed the silent role of the State Government regarding the illegal transfer of the religion. He demanded a strong consideration from the administration regarding this issue.
