NEW DELHI, JULY 4, 2012 : Shri Ashok Singhal, International Patron of Vishwa Hindu Parishad said, that as per the directives from the Supreme Court to the Central Government regarding the alternative route for the Setu Samundram Project, the expert committee headed by Sh. R.K.Pachauri has explored the possibilities of the alternative route 4-A instead of route 6. As per the news coming in newspapers about the report of the above said committee it appears to be written with prejudice.
Previously when the report about Glaciers made by Shri R.K.Pachauri has been proven wrong then it is a matter to think that how much one can believe this. However one fact also emerges out from this report that the organisms/creatures living in the bay area near the RamSetu has economic and ecological importance and they are looked after in a scientific way, hence it is necessary to protect the whole area.
It is also to be noted that in the whole world this area has maximum deposits of Thorium, a necessary element needed for the power production. Moreover, for the Hindu society RamSetu is a sacred monument and is a subject of faith, but the central government is adamant to break it. It is natural to doubt on the governments intention because it has already denied the very existence of Lord Shri Ram while pleading for the Setu Samundram Project in Supreme Court.
Shri Singhal further said, that the only way to protect Shri RamSetu is to dismiss Pachauri report and to cancel the whole Setu Samundram Project. Furthermore he demanded that Shri ram Setu has to be declared an International Heritage and the whole area as the protected area, otherwise VHP under the leadership of the saints will be forced to start a strong nationwide agitation. Messing up with our beliefs will not be tolerated at any cost, he said.
