Odisha  tribals fight for their basic rights


Bhubaneswar,2/2(vsk)-The tribals of India have not been  provided with  minimum basic  requirements ,after 66 years of independence  of our country .The provision of education, health and communication facilities, consideration of their  rights on the water , land ,forest , their  rights of resettlement and rehabilitation . their   rights on employability and earning,t he provision of reservation of ST made by the constitution, the rights of protection  of their culture, faith and belief , their rights on the 26% of profit on minerals for the regional development  etc. are the 7 no of basic rights on which a state level rally was held on   2nd February 2014, in which around 50.000 no of tribal delegates participated, organized by Vanvasi kalyan Ashram,Odisha.



On the eve of Celebration of 61 years of Vanvasi kalyan Ashram and occasion  of birth centenary of    ‘ Vanayogi ‘ late Balasaheb Deshpande and 150th birth anniversary of of Swami Vivekananda as well a vast rally was started at 11 a.m. frot Swadhinata Sangrami Bhawan ,Bhubaneswar. The tribals decorated with their contemporary dresses and music reached at lower PMG passing through Ram Mandir  square and master canteen.


Addressing this vast rally,the Ex-Chairman SC&ST commission  and the chief guest on the occasion  Sri Dillip singh Bhuria told that, the tribals are fighting for their rights since long.The ‘PESA’ act was made to provide the rights to take decision for the tribal in the village level meeting as per the recommendation made by the committee formed by him, the tribal are still deprived of their complete rights though there are laws made on the forestland. Their right on basic requirements and share on the profit on mines are still not being provided. Now, the tribal have started to demand for their rights,so no one can deny their legitimate due.


The all India vice president  of   Vanvasi kalyan Ashram Sri krupa prasad Singh as the chief speaker on the occasion told about the back ground of establishing this organization and recollected the sacrifice of luxury by Vanyogi late  Balasaheb Deshpande and described how he organized the tribal and in the forest areas and inspired them to regain their self respect by self –reliance.

The State president  Sri Laxman Nayak joined as the ‘speaker of  honour’ and  told the tribal to be unite and fight for their rights in future in their own localities.Swami Pranarupananda saraswati in his speech of wishes showed his happiness over the unity of the tribal for their rights and for protection and development of their religion and culture as well.



Sri Jagadis Prasad Mishra, working president presided over the meeting in which Sri Laxman Mahipal ,president , reception committee welcomed the delegates and the state general secretary Dr.Laxmikanta Dash presented the details of the guests. The state secretary Sri Pabitra kanhar Co-ordinated the programme and chief-coordinater  Sri Prakash Betala gave vote of thanks.Five no of  delegates led by Sri krupa Prasad singh Presented the Memorandum consisting of seven point of basic rights to the governor  of Odisha.(vsk,Odisha)
