Chennai. RSS Sah Sarkaryavah Sri Dattatreya Hosabale,
has stated today, that ‘RSS stands by its ABKM statement on
Gadgil-Kasturirangan Report. RSS is of the opinion that contentious
issues should be sorted out by consensus of experts. A national debate
to evolve consensus is desirable”.
The RSS national executive, which met in Kochi in October 2013, had voiced its disillusionment with the UPA for dumping the Gadgil report without debate and argued that “several recommendations of the panel are in the larger national interest”.

In December 2013, the Sangh lost a worker to the cause when suspected
CPM cadres threw bombs at a dharna in Kozhikode for implementation of
the Gadgil Report.
After being directed to take a clear stand, the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) on Wednesday, Aug. 27 informed the National Green Tribunal (NGT) that it was “not processing” Madhav Gadgil’s Western Ghats Ecology Expert Panel (WGEEP) report for any further action.
