Sathish Kumar’s gold medal at Glasgow Common Wealth Games has brought
the arc lights on Sathuvachari a village near Vellore, Tamilnadu, which
has been the cradle of weightlifters all along. The village has been
the primary training ground for around 90 per cent of the State’s
international lifters. Swayamsevaks of Chennai wanted to honour Satish
and his family and so invited them to Sangh Karyalaya in Chennai. On
August 23 parents of Sri Satish visited Chennai Karyalaya (Satish was
away in Delhi on that day). They were honoured with a shawl and a
memento by Prant Sanghchalak.Wednesday, August 27, 2014
