STATE-LEVEL JANAJATI SAMMILANI HELD IN CITY

The Swami Vivekananda Sardhashati Samaroha Samiti, in association with the Anthropology Department of the Utkal University, organised a State-level seminar on Janajati (ST) here on Sunday.
The conclave focused on the sustainable and scientific bases of Janajati customs, traditions and the commonalities in life rituals.
A total of 155 intellectuals took part in the four-phased seminar, said Samiti media coordinator Golakh Chandra Das. Founder of the Uttara Ashram Swami Pranarupananda inaugurated the first session, which was presided by University PG Council chairman Professor Prafulla Kumar Mishra.
Similarly, former director of the State ST Research and Training Centre Dr Premananda Panda chaired the second phase, while Dr Ramakanta Mishra led the third session of the discussion.
The concluding session was held under the chairmanship of Anthropology Department Professor Jagannath Dash, where Akhil Bharatiya Seva Pramukh of the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangha Suhash Rao Hiremath discussed on the role of the Janajati in formation of the country.
