KYPS raised its voice for Kounsar Nag Yatra pilgrims

KYPS raised its voice for Kounsar Nag Yatra pilgrims

Srinagar. Kounsar Nag Yatra Prabandhak Samiti (KYPS) led by its Convener, Swami Kumar Ji, met governor N N Vohra at Jammu Raj Bhawan on August 30th and “voiced the complaints faced by the devotees who were not allowed to undertake the Kounsar Nag Yatra via Kulgam last month.”
According to the press release, The Samiti urged Vohra in its memorandum to take timely action to ensure so that state government provided the necessary arrangements and security for this ancient Yatra which was slated to be undertaken by a group of 40 Kashmiri Hindus but was denied, by the local administration after the permission for the same was given earlier. The total silence and inaction of the State Govt. has given an impression to the Hindu Community who have been performing Yatra to Kounsar Nag for the last 5000 years that the administration has succumbed to  the pressure of separatists  and antisocial forces who prevented Hindu pilgrims from undertaking the Yatra.
The delegation brought all the disturbing facts to the kind notice of the Governor with a hope that his good self being the constitutional head of the state will look into the whole issue and ensure that no hurdle was created at the time of Kounsar Nag yatra in future. Looking to the ensuing “Pitra Paksh”  in the first fortnight of September this year, a group of devotees is to visit and pay obeisance at the sacred  Kounsarnag Lake . This was brought into the notice of the Governor by the members on the delegation.
The delegation comprised Leela Karan Sharma, President State Vishwa Hindu Parishd, K K Khosa, President, Kashmiri Pandit Sabha, Jammu, Swami Ram Sharan Dass Ji, Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Bhari Dhari, Reasi, Shiben Khaibri, writer and social activist, Prabhat Singh, Gen Secretary Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Jammu, V Kashkari, Co Convener, J&K Nationalist Movement, Pairay Lal Bhat, Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra, Anand Nagar, Jammu, Taken Dass, Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Jammu and Avtar Krishen Trakroo, Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra, Jammu.
Some leading news channels have shown visuals in the second week of August indicating about an illegal make shift structure with some group offering some prayers which was totally unacceptable and highly prejudicial to the historical and proprietary rights that the Hindus have been exercising on the “Vishnu– Pad —-Kounsernag lake”. It was requested to issue necessary orders to the concerned authorities to remove the illegally constructed structure there, so that the sanctity of the Hindu place of worship was maintained.
It was also brought into the notice of the Governor to ensure the presence of paramilitary forces at Kounsar Nag so that the place is protected against any mischief doers and zealot anti social elements.
The Governer gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured to bring all these facts into the notice of the State Government so that necessary steps were taken at an earliest to assuage the hurt feelings of the minority community.
