A private bus carrying 78 devotees from Kolkata caught fire at
Thirupullanai, near Ramanathapuram District, Tamilnadu on September1st
early morning around 1 a.m. unexpectedly.
The devotees were heading towards Kanyakumari after having darshan of Lord Ramanathaswamy at Rameshwaram. 5 persons died on the spot and five were injured and hospitalized. On hearing the tragedy, swayamsevaks from Ramanathapuram district rushed to the spot for relief activity along with local district authorities. Sri Aadalarasan, Prant Karyavah, Dakshin Tamilnadu along with swayamsevaks coordinated the relief activity. Food, clothes, bed-sheets, were given. Arrangements were made for safe return of the devotees to their home-town.
