Senior Scribe Siddhartha Kanungo has been honored with “Narad Samman-2016”.
Chief of Press Trust of India (PTI) Odisha Bureau, Mr.Kanungo has been honoured by Viswa Sambad Kendra (VSK) here in a simple ceremony on 22 May.
Mr.Kanungo is in the profession since 1986 and started his career as AIR Correspondent.
Later he joined PTI at New Delhi and served the News Agency with all sincerity and professional ethics.
During the Kargil War, his impartial and in-depth reporting influenced the young scribes.
Mr.Kanungo has also served as the Chief of Bhopal Bureau in Madhya Pradesh.
Former Union Secretary Hrushikesh Panda presented him the Award and lauded his efforts on Information Dissemination.
Dr.Panda, an accomplished writer and critic spoke at length on the crucial role of Journalists in the democratic process.
Former Professor of Utkal University Gopal Krishna Dash also spoke on the occasion.
VSK is organizing a State Level Narad Samman ceremony since 2003 and honoring senior Journalists of the State.
