राजधानी में आयोजित नारद सम्मान समरोह में मुख्य वक्ता के तौर पर उपस्थित राकेश सिन्हा ने कहा कि भारतीय समाज प्रयोगधर्मी समाज रहा है। यहां विभिन्न मतों को सम्मान दिया जाता है। केवल अपना ही मत श्रेष्ठ है यह भारतीय धारणा नहीं है। पश्चिम के लिए समग्र विश्व एक बाजार है जबकि भारतीय संस्कृति समग्र विश्व को कुटुंब मानती है। बाजार की बावना और कुटुंब की भावना में सोच का अंतर है। प्रो. सिन्हा ने कहा कि भारतीय जनमानस को समझने के लिए विश्वविद्यालयों में जाकर अध्ययन करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है। हमारे गांवों में सामाजिक समरसता का ज्ञान आपको मिल जाएगा। भारत में वर्तमान सामाजिक परिदृश्य पर अपने विचार रखते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि हम उदारवादी सभ्यता के वाहक हैं लेकिन इसे हमारी कमजोरी समझा गया है। हाल के दिनों में साहित्यकारों व तथाकथित विद्वानों द्वारा पुरस्कार वापसी पर उन्होंने कहा कि वे लोग तो पुरस्कार के योग्य ही नहीं थे, अच्छा हुआ खुशामद के बल पर उन्हे दिया गया पुरस्कार लौट आया है। वहीं कश्मीर में मौजूदा हालात पर अपने विचार रखते हुए कहा कि कश्मीर समस्या को जड़ से मिटाने की आवश्यकता है। कश्मीर में अब तर्क से नहीं ताकत से हल की संभावना दिखाई देती है। विश्व संवाद केंद्र ओडिशा शाखा द्वारा आयोजित नारद सम्मान शिव नारायण ¨सह को प्रदान किया गया। सम्मान के तौर पर उन्हें 10 हजार रुपये नकद और मानपत्र दिया गया।

इस अवसर पर शिव नारायण ¨सह ने कहा कि समूचा देश आज वैचारिक युद्ध का सामना कर रहा है।

Bhubaneswar:(11/5) Both debate and force is required to solve the national problems. From triple talaq to Kashmir crisis, if we want to solve these problems, we need to use logic and force as and when required. Professor Rakesh Sinha opined this while deliberating his speech at the Narada Jayanti function organized here by the Viswa Sambad Kendra at the IDCOL auditorium.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sinha highlighted the relation between nationalism and journalism.
He said, “This country has always been tolerant to contradictory views. Acceptance of someone else’s views on basis of logic has always been part of Indian culture. But if some people are trying to create disturbance by spreading misinformation and sophism, they need to be tackled forcefully.”
Giving example, Prof Sinha said, “Some people are trying to preach that Indian Army has occupied Jammu and Kashmir with force. This is not logic, this is sophism. So problems in JNU might be solved by debate but force is equally needed to tackle problems like Kashmir.”
In the function, veteran journalist and the editor of Odia weekly “Rastradeep” Sri Siba Narayan Singh was conferred with this year’s Narad Samman. For the last 15 years, this award is being conferred to an eminent personality who has made significant contribution in the field of positive journalism.
The function was arranged on the eve of birth day of Debarshi Narad. “NARAD SAMMAN” award is being conferred to an eminent journalist for last 15 years who has made significant contribution in the field of positive and nationalist journalism.
The function was conducted under the chairmanship of Sri Niranjan Padhi, the president of Viswa Sambad Kendra,Odisha while Secretary Sumant Kumar Panda presented the annual report.  Prof Rakesh Sinha, Director of India Policy Foundation (IPF) and Professor of Delhi University, graced the event as the chief speaker.
