DEFINE SJTA LIMITS IN TEMPLE AFFAIRS: PURI SEER

Bhubaneswar-Puri Govardhan Peeth Shankaracharaya Nischalananda Saraswati on Saturday said the State Government’s interference in day-to-day affairs of the Shree Jagannath Temple is not only unacceptable but also flouting various court orders.
“The State Government is unnecessarily interfering into the religious matters of Shree Jagannath Temple while the Supreme Court and High Courts at different times have given directions in this regard,” the Shankaracharya said at a Press conference held at the Govardhan Peeth. He too slammed the Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) for trying to interfere in the day-to-day matters of the temple.  “The State Government should make its stand clear about the SJTA’s limitation in 10 days’ time. It can’t play role of a Daitapati or the Gajapati King,” the Puri Seer said. Terming himself as a religious pathfinder and not an advisor, the Shankaracharya cautioned against too much of unethical approaches in religious matters.
